I must say, you are one of the most knowledgeable and informative fragrance reviewers in TH-cam. Also honest and not filled with hype. Thank you for that. Just on a side note, what is your opinion on Prada L'homme? I ask because everyone seems to adore it and i simply hate it. Like old baby powder to me.
Great picks. I completely agree on Chypre Palatin and Salome. Living in Cyprus, it's a shame that we have a non-existent perfume industry considered that there's a whole genre named after the island. I'd recommend giving Chypre Mousse from Oriza L. Legrand a try. Very classy and on the earthy side. And quite peculiar. There's a mushroom/fungus accord that sometimes can smell like vinyl up close but has a wonderful scent
As soon as i heard you start with mitsouko i knew you knew your stuff with chypre. I have a bottle of Diaghilev & fetish pour homme and i agree roja dove is king of the chypre. My only recommendation that you need to add to the list is Bortnikoff Chypre du Nord. It is a master full creation. Get your nose on that my friend! -Ramsey
@@RamseytheRam I've not tried it yet, but I have no doubt about it, if you say so. But from the other side, Fougere side, you must buy Fougere Royal for your collection. I would like to see the extrait version of it in your collection. The box is beautifuly made. You will like the chamomile note in it. Trust me.
Wonderful review... Agreed for sure about Fate woman... Brilliant and I would add Memoir woman as a better offering then the masculine version I have no issue wearing... And I totally agree about Papillon. I've grown to love this house over the past year or 2. In addition to Roja turning into a love for me.... I'm really enjoying your intelligent style and features of things that nobody is talking about... Like Rogue... Thank you ✌
Grande Dimitri! Quando ascolto le tue recensioni mi sembra di sentire i profumi nell'aria. Mi ha troppo incuriosito la fragranza Etruscan Water di Francesca Bianchi, non vedo l'ora di poterlo sentire. Sei forte! 💪💪💪💪
Wonderful list! I love chypres a lot, Salome is my signature scent, Etruscan Water is my most recent purchase and Chypre Siam will be my next one.. yep I have a problem😅 I still need to try Chypre Palatin, I’ve heard that it’s reformulated, how would you compare the two, or which version do you have?
Thanks Defne, love your problem 😂 I have the latest formulation of Chypre Palatin and it's amazing, never tried the older one but Claude Marchal is known to discontinue his fragrances if he can't keep the same quality throughout reformulations.
Great review ! My three favorites are Acqua Di Parma - Quercia , Tom Ford - Moss Breches ( discontinued ) and Creed Acier Aluminum sadly vaulted now. I do like Chypre Palatin as well.
Where has this list been all my life? My favorite genre. I can't afford Roja Dove but everything else I'm familiar with fantastic pics. Except... you forgot Aromatics Elixir lol! Thanks for sharing:)
My number one is Roja Chypre Extraordinaire. The compositions mentioned are a good selection imo. Oriza Legrand Chypre Mousse would also be in my top 10.
It may be hated by the snobs, but i would put Aventus here somewhere, it was an original fragrance when it came out, high quality (early batches), and it still smells so good (to me at least)
Hello! I really enjoy your channel and video reviews. Which would you choose if you had to pick between Etruscan Water and Chypre Siam? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you and happy holidays!
Very informative video...I've just ordered MDCI Chypre, very excited to Finally try it...Rogue will have to wait:)...Etruscan water is very nice scent...have all the samples from Francesca...very original and extremely potent stuff(love that part).True independent 🏠.
Thanks for the video ! I love chypre Siam but I have a hard time loving other chypre perfumes : I can’t stand Etruscan Water, Mitsouko only wearable for me in edt version, mousse illuminée... Maybe because they last very well and I get overwhelmed... Pour monsieur de Chanel and New York from Nicolai are my go to chypre fragrances
Thanks for this wonderful video Dimitri! I didn't try diaghilev yet, which one do you recommend me to buy first, Roja haute Luxe or diaghilev? Thanks for your help.
They are very different despite being both Chypres, I would start with Diaghilev which is a lot fresher and aldehydic, Haute luxe smells like it was made by Jacques Guerlain himself, oldschool and gentlemanly
Would you consider 31 Rue Cambon a chypre? i know Chanel puts it as a chypre, but it does not have oakmoss in the base, only has bergamote and labdanum
Love your informative videos I also adore chypre scents im about to get my nose on chypre palatin I have tried Salome but didn't work for me but I do love Francesca Bianchi scents Im wondering if you can do a review on the scents by Lorga parfums I hear amber platine is something special would love to hear your thoughts on this house before I blind buy
Thanks for your takes.....always informative. And I agree wear what YOU like. Is your Chypre Palatin new as I heard it has been reformulated and was lesser in performance .. I had a sample which I liked.
Hello Dimitri! Please do make a top 5 niche neroli :-) I took your advice and ordered castle Forbes but looks like they don’t deliver where I live so that order is cancelled. Now I really need a neroli in my life.
One of Rogue’s less talked about fragrances is Fougere l’Aube… lots of florals and not especially “Fougere.” Still a gorgeous and bright scent with lots of rose
Can you explain why I tried CP from MDCI and EW from Mrs.Bianchi and both of them are so feminine imo? They are so powerful but like an old-rich-lady perfume, ladies perfume from the 70s....is it just me?
lol I can see how CP might be a good fit for a woman but EW smells super masculine on me! Maybe you are associating memories of your childhood to this particular DNA which might have been worn by some elder lady you knew 🤷🏻♂️
I blind bought Mitsuoko and its just ok. Not crazy about it like I am about Roja Diaghilev . I had to own Diaghilev. I have Fate woman. I also love Papillon and I am crazy about Salome, I am obsessed in love with it. I bought back ups just in case she reformulates it. I can’t get enough of wearing Salome. My goodness, and to think she used no animalics. I love all of her line but Salome is her masterpiece. I also have Chypre Palatin and love it too . But sadly he’s reformulated it. It’s liter and weaker. I hate HATE reformulations.
I always look forward to your reviews. They are so comprehensive, educational, and fascinating. Because of you I tried and fell in love with L’Homme by YSL. (Thank you!) This video has me curious to try Chypre Siam and Etruscan Water. The fragrance I happened to discover a few years ago that pulled me into the fragrance community is CHANEL Pour Monsieur. So this video and your recommendations today are especially intriguing to me. (PS How about a video shirtless - Please? 😃)

Shouldn't those who are allergic be responsible for monitoring what they put on their bodies!? Strange times we live in where accomodation of the few outweigh that of the MAJORITY! Dimitri - A very hyped fragrance classed as a Chypre is Hacivat by Nishane. Have you tried it? If so, what did you think of it?
