I somehow managed to kill a Nutcracker with a knife solo once (I don't have anything for it tho). What I remember from it was, wait for the Nutcracker to face away from me, and spam the click button (I know it deals damage every 1.something seconds), I think I just got lucky with how long it took to react. But I think it's possible to kill one with the knife.

They *do* say never bring a knife to a gunfight. But I guess it works if it's two friends with knives vs one gun guy
