fun fact: the spotlight lore wise actually has an important use. in the time when old birds were being manufactured, they were used to fight off coil heads in war. coil heads are prone to malfunction under bright lights and loud sound, this is why old birds have spotlights and speakers.
I'm terrified of coil-heads if they needed this thing to have a way to prevent it from reaching it. I feel it implys a coil-head can do something to them
It is also resistant and scans for radiation because coilheads passively emit it. This is why pulling the giant battery in the facility automatically activates the bots, the battery is radioactive, and the bots thought a coilhead was nearby.

Firstly, I'd like to say to anyone struggling with 3D design: You don't have to be an engineer, you just have to make sure the thing LOOKS like it could move properly, because that's what breaks most designs. Iron Man's suit is super unrealistic, but it LOOKS like it could work.
Secondly, the little flame on the end of the flamethrower is what ignites the liquid being 'thrown'. It passes through the flame and becomes the actual flaming projectile.
the sound cannon on the chest originally had an attack that would make players in the area unable to hear eachother, but it seemed too much like a bug and was kinda useless so he removed it before release
Not like communication with teammates would help vs an Old Bird

That thing with the holes around the flamethrower is called a Heat Shield. The heat shield protects your hands from getting burned when you touch the barrel of a gun or exaust pipe.
And generally helps disperse heat...supposedly

I've never personally heard anyone say that heat shields help dissipste heat other than by the nature of having holes in them to allow some of the passive air cooling the barrel would already do
@@callsignapollo_ because of the holes it has a higher surface volume so heat would leave it faster . not really enough to be that important but it does
The heat shield is actually for the gun itself, not your hands. No matter what if you touch a barrel after rapidly firing, you're gonna get burned. The idea is to disperse the heat so that the barrel doesn't just melt during sustained fire (you can look up videos of people demonstrating how easily and quickly a barrel can melt on a fully automatic rifle).
I really like that you say you redesigned it and not that you "made it better" or "improved it"
Oh yeah, that is really nice. A lot of people says the game looks bad although the graphics are an intentional stylistic choice (not that you can't personally dislike it, of course). You can see the same style in almost all his earlier games.
If you’re continuing the Lethal Company series, maybe you should try modeling the Eyeless Dog next. However, maybe you should give a shot at making your own monsters.

Solid video and a great watch as usual! Although, it seems the video for whatever reason doesn’t show up in the subscription feed and basically goes unnoticed unless it’s randomly recommended on the homepage or if people check your channel.
Hope that TH-cam fixes this, as it sucks to see with how solid quality this video is, it absolutely deserves that at the very least.

I have to say, this Lethal Company redesign is my absolute favorite to date so far! I'm a big fan of robots/mech designs and you really did a great job at enhancing how the Old Bird looks, especially with all the details you added to make them seem a bit more practical.
Now for suggestions on to what you should remodel next, I think it'd be interesting on how you'd tackle the Thumper; given how they look and move in-game, I'd like to see the spin that you'd add onto them (especially with the multiple jaws they have on their head). Also I think it would be funny if you'd do a remodel video on April Fools that would just be on the Hygrodere/Bees.

i believe that we have seen the sound warfare the old bird uses. The baby crying is so loud only instilling overwhelming fear as a giant robot stomps along the ground.
this video is spectacular! i really like how you explained each step in the process, even down to just explaining how you were modelling with extrusions. most creators don't do that and it's helpful for anyone trying to follow along at least in some small way.
This video was fantastic, I love all the effort you poured into it. Intuitive explanations of the processes and methods you used and the whole thing has an excellent presentation, plus the model turned out great! 13:25 this is true even on gameplay, since their grabbing hitbox is so small that they almost always miss their grab animations, you kinda have to throw yourself at it

Amazing models they are so realistic and motivating looking like with these types of models you can make a literally a game and also make the nutcracker next with a small animation just like the jester and coil head video that would be amazing to see because the nutcracker is my most favorite monster in the game.
