Oh yeah, that is really nice. A lot of people say the game looks bad although the graphics are an intentional stylistic choice (not that you can't personally dislike it, of course). You can see the same style in almost all his earlier games.
"Did you fix the flaws, brother?" *_"Lose this number! I'm not gonna contribute to pressuring people into thinking they can't make good art!"_* [Dial tone] "Damn... he's waking up!"
Firstly, I'd like to say to anyone struggling with 3D design: You don't have to be an engineer, you just have to make sure the thing LOOKS like it could move properly, because that's what breaks most designs. Iron Man's suit is super unrealistic, but it LOOKS like it could work. Secondly, the little flame on the end of the flamethrower is what ignites the liquid being 'thrown'. It passes through the flame and becomes the actual flaming projectile.
Funnily enough, the rockets don't kill you on a direct hit, either! You only get one-shot by them if you're too close to their impact AoE! I currently presume this wasn't entirely intentional, as I can't imagine how a shockwave and thermal burns are inherently more harmful than shrapnel and casings (in the context of rockets, ofc.)
fun fact: the spotlight lore wise actually has an important use. in the time when old birds were being manufactured, they were used to fight off coil heads in war. coil heads are prone to malfunction under bright lights and loud sound, this is why old birds have spotlights and speakers. edit/update: i didnt expect this video to blow up after this comment and i especially didnt expect this to become the most popular comment. please stop arguing in the comments, i like @Willified's opinion on the matter. they basically state that this comment is just a theory but becuase its a theory doesn't mean its factually incorrect. anyways v60 is a pretty cool update isn't it?? i really like what they did with coils.
I'm terrified of coil-heads if they needed this thing to have a way to prevent it from reaching it. I feel it implys a coil-head can do something to them
It is also resistant and scans for radiation because coilheads passively emit it. This is why pulling the giant battery in the facility automatically activates the bots, the battery is radioactive, and the bots thought a coilhead was nearby.
the sound cannon on the chest originally had an attack that would make players in the area unable to hear eachother, but it seemed too much like a bug and was kinda useless so he removed it before release
That thing with the holes around the flamethrower is called a Heat Shield. The heat shield protects your hands from getting burned when you touch the barrel of a gun or exaust pipe.
@Year_of_the_Dell i think you're thinking of a heat *sink* I've never personally heard anyone say that heat shields help dissipste heat other than by the nature of having holes in them to allow some of the passive air cooling the barrel would already do
@@callsignapollo_ because of the holes it has a higher surface volume so heat would leave it faster . not really enough to be that important but it does
The heat shield is actually for the gun itself, not your hands. No matter what if you touch a barrel after rapidly firing, you're gonna get burned. The idea is to disperse the heat so that the barrel doesn't just melt during sustained fire (you can look up videos of people demonstrating how easily and quickly a barrel can melt on a fully automatic rifle).
If you’re continuing the Lethal Company series, maybe you should try modeling the Eyeless Dog next. However, maybe you should give a shot at making your own monsters.
13:25 this is true even on gameplay, since their grabbing hitbox is so small that they almost always miss their grab animations, you kinda have to throw yourself at it lore-wise i guess it wasnt really used for combat and rather for other utilities
i believe that we have seen the sound warfare the old bird uses. The baby crying is so loud only instilling overwhelming fear as a giant robot stomps along the ground.
Fear based warfare is such a fun thing to play with in fiction, see how hard you can drive the idea, how intense and gut wrenching it can truly get. Characters watch in abject horror as an overdriven loudspeaker blares the incomprehensible screams of the tortured and dying, shaking in the corner of a dim room only illuminated by flashing red emergency lights before the sound suddenly cuts. An acidic, slavic voice whispers from the speaker... "we... have come... for you..."
i love that the original old birds don't have fuel sources tbh. makes it super believable that they'd still be active after so many years of just sitting there
this video is 10000x times more helpful than *any* 3D modeling tutorial I have ever seen. You're only showing us your redesign of an existing model, but it was so informative that I learned so much more as a novice than I ever could following a dedicated tutorial. Amazing video! Love seeing how you make every model! Shame your hard drive died, hope nothing too important was lost, rest in peace remodeled v1
I absolutely love the use of Behemoth game music like Battleblock and Castle Crashers! I used the same sound track for my models.
do you know the music that starts in the backround at 1:10
YOOO, the amount of artistic effort, the editing, this video is SUPERB! Kudos, mate :)
I can't wait for the complete set, lethal company irl is gonna be lit
It looks straight out of fallout 3, you did really well with this! I love how much detail you went into with the process too, and the animations on your part are superb! ^^
this is sick dude, i love how you apply your sound effects and your 3D character. subedddd 🔥🔥🔥
I have to say, this Lethal Company redesign is my absolute favorite to date so far! I'm a big fan of robots/mech designs and you really did a great job at enhancing how the Old Bird looks, especially with all the details you added to make them seem a bit more practical.
Now for suggestions on to what you should remodel next, I think it'd be interesting on how you'd tackle the Thumper; given how they look and move in-game, I'd like to see the spin that you'd add onto them (especially with the multiple jaws they have on their head). Also I think it would be funny if you'd do a remodel video on April Fools that would just be on the Hygrodere/Bees.
Hearing both Battle Block Theatre AND Castle Crashers music in this video had me going wild… love those games…
Also sick as model.
i absolutely love the series,, i’d love to see you recreate the tiny baby eater
Really love the videos man, seeing how you model and texture stuff makes me want to get into 3D modeling
Every video you upload is a treat in both content and quality of production 🔥
from what i assumed was that the chest speaker was what blasted the music and the shoulder speakers are what make the baby crying noises and the sirens
