Keep the recommendations coming. I love good storytelling. I don't care what country or culture they hail from. Now if someone could just recommend some Chinese or Korean cinema or TV on this scale I would be very happy. It's refreshing seeing story taking front and center. I'm really enjoying Bahubali so far. Decades ago when the Internet was new and I was reading up on ancient Indian writings, legends and myths I asked myself why no one had made movies about all those fascinating stories. Bahubali is a dream come true to see brought to life.
5:30 State Law in India is very strict about animal rights..... To avoid any unwarranted legal shit most film productions just dont't mess with idea of using real animals. The disclaimer at the start of the film and during the CG shot is also kinda mandatory so that ppl don't replicate such behavior with real animals... it's lame but that's the law here....

I love that RRR ditched traditional item songs featuring hot girls, those are just shitty and doesn't add anything of value to the movie. For a great movie like RRR there's not even any time to put any such song.
I totally get what you're saying. I wasn't even looking for the song/dance with the hot girls...just some more hot girls in the story. But yeah, they had a lot packed into that movie, so completely understandable that they didn't even feel the need to add that.

Some of the songs are Hindu traditional songs from Indian epics Ramayan and Mahabharata and others songs were also far more nuanced than the rubbish English translations😂😂 Which is true also for some of the dialogues. There are also a lot of symbolisms from our Epics like from Ramayan where Ram/Raju is literally shown as Lord Ram in the final battle. And Beem is like his loyal soldier Lord Hanuman who is the strongest but naive and innocent, somewhat like Hulk. Also, how Lord Hanuman, along with his Monkey army built a bridge in the ocean (that's why beem is water) to let Lord Ram burn down (that's why he's the fire) evil Ravan's Kingdom to bring back his wife Seeta, who was deceptively captured by Ravan. Also, every scene in Rajamouli's films have a purpose like the flag to save beem from fire, because beem is a tribal he is able to save Raju's life and capture all the animals, etc.
greatest movie ever made 😂😂😂? I don't know why all you guys are liking RRR so much I can never understand why this is the best movie of 2022, it's just a fun movie that's it And it would be wrong to call it one of the greatest film ever made(according to me) RRR is 7/10 for me ( not the best film of 2022) Rrr is good film and its very artistic yes I know every single detailing in rrr, the horse and bike metaphor, fire and water metaphor , Raju represents Lord Rama and Bhima represents Lord Hanuman, that is why in the last Bhima's character carries Raju on his shoulder which is inspired by ramayan, In the beginning, a little girl made a drawing on British queen's hand that drawing is refrence to Bahubali 1, but I don't think that Rrr is best film of 2022 Because I have many problems with rrr 1) many action sequences were there that I didn't quite believe example: bhim and bike action scene in climax, And I have the same problems with Rajamouli's other films as well, example: Bahubali 2 palm tree scene I don't have any problem with over the top action sequences but some of scenes are very unconvincing for me,( I didn't like these action scenes because of their choreography, And it is not that I dislike all the action scenes of RRR, I have also liked some of the action scenes of RRR, example=bheem introduction, interval fight scene, climax fight scene) 2) Rrr has the same stereotypical villain who we knew from the start that he is going to lose in the end, here I am talking about the character of the villain, I found the character of the villain very fake and cartoony,I did not feel any danger from it,The way he speaks the dialogues, it sounds fake, you can show cruelty in a better way like Tarantino did in inglorious bastards with Hans Landa, the way he delivers dialogues and manipulates people was mind-blowing, and another example was Leonardo DiCaprio in django unchained He was also a very cruel and over the top villain, but Leonardo DiCaprio's acting makes him a dangerous and unique antagonist ,He Really Feels Like A Direct Threat To Our Hero, and all this was missing in Rrr's villain,He never seems to be a direct threat to our heroes, I never thought that he would ever be able to defeat our heroes, in Bahubali bhallaldeva was very strong villain, that's why the Bettle of the last one seems very equal and interesting, but in rrr last Bettle was very well choreographed but it's very one-sided. 3)in the beginning of the movie people started thinking that Ram is antivillain but then after interval it was found that Ram is also against British, This was a surprising twist for many people but not for me because I recognized this as soon as I saw the trailer, I did not find it so surprising because a big movie superstar can never be a villain in India. That's why only after watching the trailer, I realized that Raju will also be against the British government. And yes raju and bhim's friendship happened by just an event i mean such a deep friendship may take time,A movie based on such friendship will be unique for America, but it is very common in India. 4) characters are to cartoony, Raju's character has some character development , But Bheem's character was very one-dimensional RRR's characters lacks depth, This is the condition of commercial movies in India, they don't understand the importance of character's depth, they don't understand the importance of a good villain in the movie, 5) honestly in some scenes Rrr's CGI was not good And I have problem with comedy in rrr, you will get to she this in many indian films that a desi boy falls in love with a foreign girl ,but our desi boy does not know how to speak English which creates comedy, whole name pronouncing thing was so lame and such an old trick to create comedy Finally I don't hate rrr it's better than other trash Indian comercial films like pathaan, kgf and pushpa but I don't think that Rrr is the best movie of 2022 Over all 7/10 for me No hate🙏🙏 ( I am not a bollywood supporter, infact I hate most of the bollywood films, these are some of my personal problems with rrr no hate, everyone has their different tast in movies, I am pro art and cinema lover And I support good cinema irrespective of the country, region and industry it comes from❤️❤️) If you watch Indian cinema, than you will know that RRR did not do anything very unique
I think a large amount of why we were so vociferously complementary & amazed by RRR just says a lot about the current slate of absolute crap we've been immersed in coming from Hollywood/America, lately. We're absolutely taking your recommendation to watch more Indian cinema, as most of that seems to be quite refreshing. Thanks for the comments!

The framing was intended that way. For the streaming, the 1.78:1 was either the 1.9:1 imax scenes cropped vertically to 1.78 or the remaining scenes cropped horizontally to 1.78:1 (with some additional image at the top from the raw footage). Didn't like that one bit!
So, as mind-blowing as the visuals were, I still haven't experienced the full spectacle? I may do a little hunting around rather than going straight to Netflix when I go back in for a re-watch.
@@NerdRagnarok Yes, they're re releasing it in so many places due to demand.
So please demand in your nearest theatres and see it in a perfect experience in an Imax or something

Still bahubali is fiction story though. You have to read Mahabharat if you are interested. You won't be disappointed. The greatest epic in the world.
Indian laws are very strict regarding animals
5:30 State Law in India is very strict about animal rights..... To avoid any unwarranted legal shit most film productions just dont't mess with idea of using real animals. The disclaimer at the start of the film and during the CG shot is also kinda mandatory so that ppl don't replicate such behavior with real animals... it's lame but that's the law here....
So, I expect, it'll be much the same with other movies in this genre, then? Good to know. I thought the CGI was perfectly fine, it's my pedantic, know-it-all brother that was talking smack about it. I plan to make sure he reads all these informative comments. Thanks!
This just looks funamazing!
The few Indian movies I saw had zero special FX. Mostly singing, mob dancing, zero plot and a budget to match. "RRR" definitely on my radar. TY for the review!
No problemo. It's been absolutely blowing up in the US, even before it showed up on Netflix. They better have a whole swarm of Oscars on tap for it.
Actually it's a fictional story but these two revolutionary exist in 1920
No, it's a real story. Mr. Gandhi and our Great first prime minister Jawaharlar Nehru did that bridge scene in real life
I thought they looked familiar in the movie.

Watch haider. Hindi movie. Best modern hamlet adaptation . Based in Kashmir part of india which is a conflict area. Militant insurgents are a big thing there. Great backdrop for hamlet adaptation. Must watch indian film.
I'm writing that down. That sounds right up my alley. Love me some Bill Shakespeare.
Budget was 70 million $.
@@NerdRagnarok Watch Bahubali 1 and 2 from the same director, there's a lot more dance numbers some stunning taking the story forward and 1-2 not so good.
If u guys love these action sequences the. I highly recommend bahubali 1 and 2 directed by same director SS RAJAMOULI from RRR
Available on Netflix
I may have to do some VPN-spoofing to see it on Netflix. RRR, in fact, wasn't offered in the US for a long while. I do have Bahubali 2 on the harddrive, though. I guess I should watch Part #1 first, though, right? Appreciate the recommendations!
Thanks for the recommendation. Watched Bahubali 1 tonight after work. I like the story more then RRR
@@NerdRagnarok yes..need to watch bahubali 1 first ....
Also consider watching magadheera and eega by same director
There's another scene of Ram in a movie called Magadheera where he epically fights hundred armed forces...
So that actor just does that kind of epic-level scene all the time? Cool. I know so little about the genre and the nation, I need to do a lot of learning. Thanks for the info. I will have seen that movie before I let a month pass.
@@NerdRagnarok almost all of tollywood actors do larger than life movies in general ..
But that scene particularly sticks with you like all the scenes of RRR..
Magadheera was also directed by SS Rajamouli
id love a follow up when he finishes the movie!
When Rob finishes? Good idea. We'll be doing another similar movie very soon. I'll make sure to include his reaction & comments in the intro.
If you want to understand more about British India history.... I'll highly recommend you SARDAR UDHAM movie.... It's not over the top like rrr it's very grounded and realistic movie.....

Please watch 3 idiots (most loved Indian movie ever in India, China, South Korea and many Asian countries).
And also for your information
this movie has been shown in South Korean school.
Bro this is tollywood movie not Bollywood
Bro, thanks for the correction. The distinction is new knowledge for me.
Loved your analysis and reactions to the movie scenes 🔥
Thanks much. Appreciate the feedback.
It is not a BOLLYWOOD movie. It's a TELEGU movie.
As the 10th person to tell me this, I thank your for your correction and the gift of new knowledge. Your efforts will not go in vain.
Watch Sardar Udham too please. Its one of the finest Indian movies ever made.
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll put it on my ever-growing list.
greatest movie ever made 😂😂😂?
I don't know why all you guys are liking RRR so much
I can never understand why this is the best movie of 2022, it's just a fun movie that's it And it would be wrong to call it one of the greatest film ever made(according to me)
RRR is 7/10 for me ( not the best film of 2022)
Rrr is good film and its very artistic yes I know every single detailing in rrr, the horse and bike metaphor, fire and water metaphor , Raju represents Lord Rama and Bhima represents Lord Hanuman, that is why in the last Bhima's character carries Raju on his shoulder which is inspired by ramayan, In the beginning, a little girl made a drawing on British queen's hand that drawing is refrence to Bahubali 1, but I don't think that Rrr is best film of 2022
Because I have many problems with rrr
1) many action sequences were there that I didn't quite believe example: bhim and bike action scene in climax, And I have the same problems with Rajamouli's other films as well, example: Bahubali 2 palm tree scene
I don't have any problem with over the top action sequences but some of scenes are very unconvincing for me,( I didn't like these action scenes because of their choreography, And it is not that I dislike all the action scenes of RRR, I have also liked some of the action scenes of RRR, example=bheem introduction, interval fight scene, climax fight scene)
2) Rrr has the same stereotypical villain who we knew from the start that he is going to lose in the end, here I am talking about the character of the villain, I found the character of the villain very fake and cartoony,I did not feel any danger from it,The way he speaks the dialogues, it sounds fake, you can show cruelty in a better way like Tarantino did in inglorious bastards with Hans Landa, the way he delivers dialogues and manipulates people was mind-blowing, and another example was Leonardo DiCaprio in django unchained He was also a very cruel and over the top villain, but Leonardo DiCaprio's acting makes him a dangerous and unique antagonist ,He Really Feels Like A Direct Threat To Our Hero, and all this was missing in Rrr's villain,He never seems to be a direct threat to our heroes, I never thought that he would ever be able to defeat our heroes, in Bahubali bhallaldeva was very strong villain, that's why the Bettle of the last one seems very equal and interesting, but in rrr last Bettle was very well choreographed but it's very one-sided.
4) characters are to cartoony, Raju's character has some character development , But Bheem's character was very one-dimensional
RRR's characters lacks depth,
This is the condition of commercial movies in India, they don't understand the importance of character's depth, they don't understand the importance of a good villain in the movie,
5) honestly in some scenes Rrr's CGI was not good
And I have problem with comedy in rrr, you will get to she this in many indian films that a desi boy falls in love with a foreign girl ,but our desi boy does not know how to speak English which creates comedy, whole name pronouncing thing was so lame and such an old trick to create comedy
Finally I don't hate rrr it's better than other trash Indian comercial films like pathaan, kgf and pushpa but I don't think that Rrr is the best movie of 2022
Over all 7/10 for me
No hate🙏🙏
( I am not a bollywood supporter, infact I hate most of the bollywood films, these are some of my personal problems with rrr no hate, everyone has their different tast in movies, I am pro art and cinema lover And I support good cinema irrespective of the country, region and industry it comes from❤️❤️)
If you watch Indian cinema, than you will know that RRR did not do anything very unique

Actually, about the Animals usage in Indian movies, they are not supposed to be used in movies, especially in action movies..that's our sensor rules
Yeah, a lot of people have commented the same. Good info to know, especially so I'll know what to expect when I watch more of these Indian movies (which I will, quite soon). The animals looked more realistic than what American CGI gives up, so I guess all that practice & experience having to do it has had some positive results.
