THIS is how I discovered when I was a kid that the oscars was rigged. In the late 90s early 00s is when I stopped watching.
And I used to love watching the Academy Awards, I would play "spot the celebrity" with my grandma when they did the red carpet arrival interviews and when the camera would pan to the audience - usually Jack Nicholson in the front row always caught laughing at the host then, which was Billy Crystal.
Oscars and Hollywood have lost all class and charm since the 90s. I forget that it is even an event.

Oscars don't hold the same value once it used to have. I think one important factor is Social media as even though RRR didn't get the Oscar (we never thought it would) but the global audience response on social media is heart warming which is more than enough.

You're not enough of a conspiracy theorist. You have to push the questioning farther. Did it every really have value, or were you just more easily blinded by a less in your face entertainment?
See, when I started unraveling the actual value of the Nobel prizes, whether Peace, Science or whatever, I realized how deceitful the Nobel award has always been. The reasoning proved to repeat itself for every single institution. You just have to be open to have your worldview destroyed before you rebuild yourself on your own basis rather that what others tell you to think, who they say you must listen to and respect and obey.

The way I see it EEAAO deservedly won the best picture. I have no qualms about it but RRR deserved at least a nomination. It was better than at least 5 movies that got nominated. I have like 3-4 movies that I liked in 2022 but RRR is the one I am recommending to everyone. I get that audience popular movies do not always get the awards but you gonna only award oscar-bait movies then no wonder Oscars have lost its creditibily in recent years.

They also left out a lot from the book, which was important for context. The way they changed the ending, the title doesn't even make sense anymore, lol. The NF film shouldn't be even called with the og title, because it doesn't make justice of it. In the german it's literally: ''nothing new on the western front'' and it has a deeper meaning to it, this NF film is just very bad at adapting it. The nomination for the adapted screenplay must a be joke, because it's a bad adaptation and it even has a weak script with weak and not-remarque-like characters. The previous adaptations (especially the from 1979) are superior. :)

The scene where Bheem that time Akhtar eats with his left hand and says "whats wrong with eating from any hand (left or right hand ) ammi"... in the house of the Muslims who helped him so much hiding his real identity, that time Ram while eating remembered his village and little brother who died and thought him to be of Bheem's age with same innocence if he would have been alive, which is also why Ram kind of carries him like piggyback after the Nattu Nattu dance when Bheem (Akhtar) was exhausted. Its a huge brotherly affection.
