Just got the rockwell 6s last week as of this writing and was my first safety razor for both facee and head. Started out with the 2 and now I'm up to a 4 already. Not a glutton for punishment, the razor just glides so well i wanted to test it out further. I love it!!
I just picked a random latest video to make my comment. I’m totally new to this, but just ordered the Leaf Twig to start my path to safety razor shaving. I didn’t quite want to pull the trigger on the Rockwell 6S but may end up with it. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the genuine videos you produce. They help out a lot. I also used the Ohio Shaves code so I hope you get a small kickback.
Best Head shavers for me : #1 Karve Overlander - It will cut through hair of any length and never cut you. There is nothing else like it on the market. Machining is a cut above all other razors. #2 Henson AL13/Ti22 - So close to the Overlander on this list. Hensons always give the perfect shave, just amazing. Like the Overlander, there is nothing like it on the market. Machining a cut above all other razors. #3 Rockwell - 6s/c most adaptable razor to every shave and gives perfect shaves. The three razors above are some of the best, and I will always have them in my shave den.
☝🏾Watched again for more head shave tips.😊 Great head shave lesson, David. The head roll for the back of the head is a very effective method I learnt from this video long ago, and it sure works!🙏🏾👍🏾😊
Thanks, brother. Going live in an hour and 20 minutes. Hope you can attend. I’m going to be giving away razors, soaps, and shaving brushes on the live event. Make sure to tune in.
There are so many safety razors from which to choose. Unless one is a "collector", I can't imagine having a more versatile daily driver than the 6S. It's six razors in one and always gives me a comfortable, close, and irritation-free shave. And being stainless steel the 6S will last forever. I only use my other safety razors to remind me how great the 6S is 😉
@@tomlyons7066 Right. You can get two 6Ss for the price of one T2. Plus, Rockwell won't tell you the T2 specs. I tried to get the blade gap data to compare with the 6S and was informed they do not disclose that info.
I recently started to shave the dome. I have found that the Leaf gives me the best shave and believe it or not, the Twig is next in line. The Rockwell is my favorite razor and will use it occasionally on my head but only when I have a day out two of growth and then follow up with my Pitbull Skull Shaver.
Great to hear from you, Dan. Thanks for your input. I agree totally with the leaf razor for head shaving. The twig is hard to beat. Not using the 3one6 anymore?
@@OhioShaves I rotate it in along with the Merica razor, but the Rockwell is just so idiot proof. I’ve pretty much given up on my vintage razors. They’re nice to collect, but I just don’t get the results that I do with the new models.
do you use the Leaf single blade? I am just getting into head shaving and ordered a rockwell 6s but wondering if i should shave my head with the Leaf instead. Seems like alot of people share this sentiment unless they are paid to say it.
Hi Brother, I usually do the WTG pass on the dome, then the face. Then rinse, lather, repeat with the XTG and ATG pass. I do it this way cos I change plates between passes. It works for me. I learned the hard way not to move my head... I've been having clogging issues recently. Where I have to disassemble the razor and rinse the stubble off the blade. So, I bought an OC razor. A PAA Ascension in stainless steel.
@@OhioShaves I've been busy between work, experimenting in the Domestic Culinary Laboratory and getting a blog up and running... I'm excited to try my new ( to me ) OC razor when it gets here.
Thanks for a great video. Do you have or can you think of making a video for the hair on the back of the head? Really have to fight to remove it which creates irritation and takes time. Have tried the tips in this video but the back is still "messing". I have a T2 GM and uses either Merkur or Feather blades.
I have been shaving my head for almost 30 years and I always start against the grain. I go back to front first pass and front to back second pass and then a clean up!
@OhioShaves I've just used the 6C for the first time... this thing is magic! I was using the King C Gillette before with their stock razors and I was getting irritation going over and over trying to get a close shave. AND my head would feel raw and itchy after. But the 6C.... WOW. Minimal effort, just get the angle right and you're gliding! I used 4 plate with Astra Superior Platinum. WOW again.
Another sound tutorial, Ohio Shaves. Thank you so much. You have enhanced my conviction that I should grab a Rockwell S6 as my go-to head and face shaver. I have been advised to have it polished. Please what is your view on having it polished or leaving it just as it is? Please advise.
To start: I’ve been loving your videos. I am new both to the head shaving and wet shaving. I got the Henson AL13m but I’m not getting the BBS shave that I want. How do you find the Rockwell compares and is it worth the return and switch?
Thanks. The Henson for head shaving takes me a little longer just because if I don't get the correct angle, it does not cut. The rockwell, it has a lot more leeway room. Where it will cut if you don't have the correct angle which can induce a little bit of blood if you're not taking your time. The tabs on the ends are something to consider when you're going around your ears. I know I have pulled blood a few times forgetting that the tabs are present. I would definitely try some different razor blades in it. I know for me that makes a huge difference in any razors. Finding that right blade to razor combination is key for me. I would definitely stick with the Henson and hone in on your technique. If you're like most of us, you're going to own more than one safety razor. That being said the Rockwell is definitely on top of that list.
Hey Ohio Shaves after coming across your TH-cam channel I see you’ve reviewed a lot of shaving razors and I was curious(it’d be my first safety razor) which should I buy? I really want to buy just one so I don’t have to spend a lot of money testing so could you recommend me what are your top picks or the best? Also do you recommend your full shaving set in ur bio?
Just watching vidio. What did you think of Perssona blades? I use Perssona Platinum after trys with Feather, Astra, King C And a few others. Best blades by far for me never get a cut and are near on as close as feathers for my skin
Great looking razor and shave! I have some thick hair (minus the top) and I’ve finally balanced efficiently and comfort using two different razors. I shave every few days, feel like I get a smoother shave than just going after stubble day after day. I start with my thorn removing the bulk of my hair. Then I’ll do one pass against the grain with my Leaf razor and then a touch up. I’ve found only loading the middle slot of my Leaf I can really go after any stubble that I’ve missed and achieve bbs without any irritation. Looking forward to the giveaway 👍🏻
Nice one. From watching your head shave video with a Rockwell T2 and this one with 6S, it appears head shaving is so much better with the Rockwell 6S? Please advise. Regards
Ohio Shaves lucky you lucky you. No bony skull to work with lol. Non of that knobby areas behind the ears and your scalp skin moving around on you haha yay
Awesome tutorial vid for head shaving with Rockwell 6s!
Glad you liked it!
Your across the grain shaving technique is a revelation! :-O

I've yoused a few times the Rockwell 6s on my head, but I do prefer the Razorock BBS aluminium version because it's much lighter.
