Let's learn a foreign language for diversity! | Kumi Hoffmann | TEDxDejimaStudio

Kumi, a member of the original crew of NHK's ‘Let's Play in English’, encourages young people in Japan to learn foreign languages, because if you learn a foreign language, you can learn about the culture of that country. And learning about culture is the first step towards accepting diversity. Kumi, who was a member of the original crew for NHK's ‘Let's Play in English’, has worked as a news reporter, sports commentator, FM radio DJ, and MC for international conferences, and has also spent time in Germany, South Africa, the UK, and Russia. From London, Kumi continues to inspire young people in Japan via the internet. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
