This week got messed up. Sunday is water change day, well Saturday I went crazy with a super spicy Mexican dish I like to make called Tinga, well no one else in house will eat much if at all because I make it real spicy lol, so I ate it for 2 meals Saturday, lets just say Sunday was a miserable horrible day lol. So I ended up a day behind this week. When I did tree work, I worked with a bunch of Mexican guys, they fed me all kinds of authentic Mexican food, not the TexMex stuff lol (Ilove texmex too lol). Guess Tinga is kinda puerto rican and mexican food, anyways one of the guys brought that stuff in one day and it was the best thing I ever ate in my life lol. His wife wrote down recipe for me, make whenever I can, but no one else will eat it and I end up eating on it myself over 2 or 3 days. I get in trouble when I over do it lol.
You inspired me to try shrimp again! I ordered 2 moss first and added 3 dry mulberry leaves and let the tank run for a couple weeks then ordered 12 blue dream 1 placo, snails and 2 oz food. you sent 2 placos and 14 blue dreams
Glad to hear they're doing good.for you 👍 I took guppies and plecos off the website for the season. I dont ship them when it gets cold. Shrimp and plants are good unless its super cold dead of winter stuff. I will put more jellies back in stock Friday afternoon.
,hi Ian Sammy from Canada again what type of substrate you use of your big tubs and in your breeders do you use any plant fertilizers or root tabs it all look so awesome and so beautiful I always keep watching your videos I love them all brother keep going brother go big brother god bless you .
Its just black blasting sand that I rinse very well. For crypts I use jobes plant spikes, just 1 spike under each clump of crypts. Usually 1 is enough forever it seems lol.
thanks i kinda feel like they are simply racing for the same nutrients though. but I must be doing incredibly good if i have rotifers, moina, daphnia, detritus worms and now seed shrimp in there 😅@@MarkShellyAquatics
Yes plz video the green jade cull!🙂 awesom awesome awesome!! Great video mark! Oh hey my blue dreams are starting to boom I’m seeing more shrimplets everyday and remember the blue dream female who kinda turned rili? Well she dropped all her shrimplets and now, the light ring is about dark blue again, and she’s berried again😄 so much fun …yup I’m addicted.
So packed full of eggs she got stretched out and dulled her abdomen colors lol. Sounds like you got what shrimp like environment down pat. I remember telling you that you would be just fine with shrimp lol. When you first start new colonies there are so many resources and so much space you can get females with so many eggs they cant really walk lol. My 20g blue dream tank with the play sand has so many babies, the females are getting huge and carry so many eggs. Those same females are the ones I restarted my 20g high with as well, that same breeding group now has 2 20g tanks making some really nice blue dreams.
hi im from Nicaragua central America, im really curious about how to breed snowball what color do i need to get snowball. Thank you sow much btw and learning a lot with u. Much blessings
Well snowballs are snowballs. To breed snowballs you need snowballs. They are actually a bit different to other neos, but will still breed with other neos.
Wanted to make sure that 75 was really up and running really good and a full out shrimp factory before I put them back up. Finally confident I can keep a steady stream going out. Limiting them to only so many a week, because usually the ones I add on Friday are gone by end of weekend and getting emails asking about being in stock (which I will usually add more in stock if asked real nice and I can do it without hurting colony lol). Gotta maintain only selling what I breed, Which means looking months into the future on what you expect shrimp populations to be. I'm always gonna error on the side of being cautious and not sale too many shrimp. Seen lots and lots of guys over sale, something goes wrong, and they lose the line.
@Gone Shrimp’n yep nothing fancy. In neo tanks you dont want any of the fancy plant buffering substrate you, just your basic sand or gravel works best.
@@LOCTran-nw8gk not sure to be honest, I would look for a pump that is 150 to 200gph for a 25g tank. Smaller pumps have smaller fittings, so you may need to get creative if you are going the diy route
Mark. I was watching another TH-camr do a shrimp unboxing. He was happy with his shrimp, but he seemed to be quite concerned about your packing material. Maybe a video showing people that it’s just a cellulose blow in insulation that poses absolutely no risk to our lungs. It surprised me how weird he was with it. Might want to show the pros and cons of the cellulose insulation. Love your channel and your products. Just a suggestion so people won’t wig out.
@@MarkShellyAquatics if that’s who Mario’s shrimp is than you are right. He wasn’t the original guy I saw but this Mario “wasn’t sure what you packed them in”, but he was definitely sure it would keep the shrimp safe. I wasn’t trying to cause any problems. In my younger days I use to shoot that cellulose up in attics and most of the time without a mask. I didn’t know you had talked about your packing material in the past. Just tossing it out there for those that don’t know that cellulose is a completely benign and excellent packing material. Go up in your attic. I bet a large majority have cellulose up there.
this is a dream for me 😍.... I want you to please tell me which key ingredients in a shrimp food/pellet/wafer is most essential for them? I see a lot of people feeding various type of food. but I can't afford that much. Want to keep only 1 or 2 types of food for my neos. And please share the water parameters of your breeding tanks
@@MarkShellyAquatics As of now I have Hikari algae wafers. Bought some sinkable pellets yesterday in small amount from a friend of mine to see whether they consumes or not before buying a bottle of it. What is the water parameters in the tanks that you maintain?
Happy New Year
Guppy pond 💯
You too, thanks 😊
Cool video Mark. ❤️
Thanks 😁 👍
Awesome looking shrimp...
Thank you 😁 👍
Thank you mark for all your hard work, we definitely appreciate it all!🎉

My friend sent me your way. You have some amazing lines! I just placed an order on your site, can't wait! Great video!
Thank you 😊

love the video 👍
Thanks bud 👋😁👍
Absolutely love this video! Awesome 😎
Thanks bud 👍
Fantastic job, are those cinder block in the tanks? If so what is that for?
Only purpose the serve is to hold filter in place and the plecos like them
@Mark Shelly Aquatics ok cool, thanks for replying. I know it's an old video but I just found you on yt today. Great stuff!

Omg skittles tank that is so cute
👍
Hey mark just subscribed. ....just wanted to the secrete behind your flourishing Java moss....can i..?
Biggest thing os that its not java moss, its pilo moss.
Pretty nice. I am currently not sure if one of my tanks is done for since I noticed seed shrimp. I wish I could remove them lol
Seed shrimp and other copepods have never caused any issues. They are actually a good sign that you are doing things right.

How frequent u change the water in shrimp tank?
I do water weekly water changes.
Green Jades coming Thurs so excited. Got a tank set up with jungle Val for them been waiting while for them to come back on sale.

Here watching brother

Hey, I might've missed it in another video, but can you explain the brick next to the sponge filter?
Just there to hold my filters in place, and the plecos like them
nice shrimps... hope my shrimps will breed soon like that! mark, i want to ask how many hours do you turn on your light in shrimp tank!
Depends on light and tank really, 6 to 9 hours for most tanks
What is the black substrate in the tanks?
Blasting sand
@@MarkShellyAquatics oh it’s just black sand
@Gone Shrimp’n yep nothing fancy. In neo tanks you dont want any of the fancy plant buffering substrate you, just your basic sand or gravel works best.
@@MarkShellyAquatics yea I just couldn’t tell if it was sand or crushed lava rock like eco complete or something
what strong light do you recommend for shrimp tank? thanks
With LED lights, usuay 1 to 2 watts per gallon will work
what substrate do you use?
Most tanks use black diamond blasting sand, the biggest grit you can find. You gotta rinse its super good.
do you all gravel vac your aquariums .... is it bad that i never do
I never do either
I have 25 gallon tank , what kind of eco filter ? I should use , can you tell me...
Sponge filter with a powerhead pump and an airstone.
@@MarkShellyAquaticsi mean , What kind of number eco plus filter for 25 gallon ,?

Thank you 😊
I love guppies too
Do you ever used fluvic acid?
I add nothing. Just my hard tap water that has chloramines, so I treat with Safe. That is all.
@@MarkShellyAquatics I see you don't like algae, can I ask why, as far as I know, algae is the natural food of shrimp.
I dont like hair algae in my moss and plants, fine for shrimp lol

I hav answered lots of questions about that in the past, its the same as paper lol.

There's not so much a key ingredient, I powder and blend 10 different foods that i buy in bulk. Its a good mix of everything is what they need
@@MarkShellyAquatics As of now I have Hikari algae wafers. Bought some sinkable pellets yesterday in small amount from a friend of mine to see whether they consumes or not before buying a bottle of it. What is the water parameters in the tanks that you maintain?
Biggest tip is don't over feed. When you do water changes drip it back in.
Iam a cheap skate but I thought ied check out your 1 oz. Bag 👍🏻
Thanks 😊
Your shrimp will love it 👍
Let’s go
👍😁👋
What substrate do you use?
Black diamond blasting sand for neos, some neo tanks are even barebottom, but covered in moss.
Man I want get some but I can’t find any around :( I’ll get my hands on it haha
