Mike Sohm is awesome! Bought a few packs of Stinger Buzzcuts and Black Hornet Ser Razors. One of the packs of Buzzcuts would not screw all the way in to the Ethics insert. I reached out to Magnus and was shocked when it was Mike that responded. He asked that I sent him the pack and one of my ethic inserts on his dime so that he could investigate what was going on in the machining process. Too sum it up... he made it right and I was blown away by the customer service. Great guy.

Shot two deer in 2020 using my adult arrow built as prescribe by the "Ole RF" and total distance the 2 deer ran 63 yards. Watched them both fall. Using Magnus Black Hornet Ser Razor 125gr - 4 Blade w/ 150gr Ethics Insert. The broadhead worked flawless. Deer #1 Elevated Stand Quartering Away 25yds - Blasted through one rib, double lung along with lots of vascular material and shattered the rib on the other side as it deflected & exited the out the front cutting the jugular. Thats why you sharpen them razor sharp! Deer #2 Elevated Stand- Slight Quartering To - Heart & Lung . Thanks Magnus and Ranch Fairy!

I have shot the Black hornet and the Stinger bee 4Blade. Sharpened them up super sharp. 550gr arrow. Plan B Happened and the stinger bee hit the Mature bull moose in the hind quarter, passed thru the first side them smacked dead into the Femur and SHATTERED IT! im talking 10 pieces. the broadhead broke but the cutting blade was in one solid piece. Few months later shot a nice mulee thru the vital V and he had no idea what happened. Died 7 feet from the shot location. LISTEN TO THIS MAN! his content is the truth and MAGNUS heads are the best value in the market hands down and fly like fieldpoints. Fred Bear knew that needle tipped heads will curl when hitting something hard so he designed the Razorhead with a chisel point and he taught archers to make a chisel tip on their heads as well. This was way before the tanto idea came to be, although it serves the same purpose. If I shot screw in heads, I would shoot a Magnus 150gr.

I felt like I was chasing my tail trying to sharpen mine. I should have rewatched your video and the one from Outdoors55 that you suggested. I may try them again since I have more time to go through "The Process" this spring and summer. Although I want to go turkey hunting with a bow this spring season.

For a year I struggled with a Chinese junk bow while building and experimenting with different weights and spines and could never get any consistency . Finally lashed out and bought a bear species after only two days I have two different handloads flying like darts and shooting fletchings off. First two loads are a little light for my liking and yours. The first only 465gn the second 515gn . Day 3 I hope to build a 600+ gn to fly . Thankyou so much Troy .

Use a clean spot and you can see where it’s contacting. Works pretty good. I just take it slow and easy.

Have you heard of the Black Hornet Ser Razor not screwing into Easton Axis arrows ? I bought 3 packages last season to try and none of them would screw into any of my Axis arrows. I contacted Magnus through email and according to them they should screw right on. But they didn’t. I ended up using them in my crossbow bolts. But was pretty disappointed I couldn’t get them to work on my Compound arrows.

Hey boss, super love you, and Mike!
I have learned a lot from you, but I wholeheartedly disagree about the Tonto tip on the stinger/buzz cut.
I curled that tiny tip on a turkey back in 2006 and followed uncle Ted’s and Fred Bear’s advice to barely knock the point down to a chisel tip. Since then I have taken around 30 big game animals including 2 poor man buffaloes in SA with the chisel tip and nare a problem! Love my stingers and buzz cuts (all I use) but I always put a slight chisel tip on them.

    • @reganjeremiah08

He has a video where he explains the serrations are very sharp and aid in cutting small vessels and tissues. The edge inside the serrations stay sharp because they aren't taking the initial hit that begins the dulling process - they're basically insulated.

I like Mike BUT... he showed he could not give a Sh##t what matters when he eliminated the second screw in the ferrule. Said it was due to manufacturing costs. Thats why his blades shift on hard impact/off angle. He will know just what I am speaking of. He sued me in NY for using his words in a write up on the 150 broadhead test. The missing 2nd screw (yes they used to have 2) kept the blade from torquing within the ferrule. He abandoned that great system to save a few cents. Everyone out there knows this, who has been around since the introduction of the stinger. Add more grip to the front end and it;s going to react even worse to the poor seating. Shoot one at an angle through some bone and then spin test (without a cut away) and you will see, as will every newbie out there who follows you. Nothing against you big guy. Just stating facts. Mike needs to step it up and go back to doing the right thing.
