I wanted to publicly say thanks to the RF for the guidance he has given me via email over the past few weeks. He has responded quickly regarding arrow flight questions all the way to some not often discussed shot placement questions. Thanks again!!
Started watching you when you did the series with The Hunting Public. I've learned more about arrows in 4 days than I have in a lot of years. It just so happens, I've been wanting to increase the weight of my arrows, then I find you. 😁👍🏹
Ive had my bow to the shop twice. I dont have a press or I would have worked on it myself. Anyway I took it in and asked them to look at it and that i suspected the top cam was out of time. He looks at me and tells me that these bows just dont go out of time too much. I asked him to humor me and give it a look. (he has a hooter shooter) About a week later he said it was done and sure enough the top cam was out of time. Huh?? I take it back home and a few days later attempt to work through some hand loading. Every combination of field point 200-300 on a 250 and 300 shaft had a hard left tear. I messed with the rest a bit but the adjustment would require the center shot to be way out of line so I started looking into it. I learned about the top-hats being adjustable on my Triax. I took it back to the same shop and asked them to take a look. Again they looked at me like i was an alien and again i asked them to humor me. This time I left a couple 300 spine bareshafts and 200 grain field points (I didnt want him tuning it with one of the twizzlers and telling me it was fine) and asked them to paper tune that setup the best they could. They argued why that wasnt a good idea and why it wouldnt fly. They said when I fletched the arrows they would fly diff. and why was I trying to shoot such heavy arrows. Why didnt I just take a 400 FMJ and go with it. I tried to explain but again the alien look... ! About a week later he calls to let me know it was done and guess what, it tuned a perfect bullet hole. I asked if the top-hats had to be adjusted and guess what the answer was?? Duh? Back home I go and with a little tweaking, I now have the choice of shooting 250, 275, or 300 grains on the front of those same 300 spine arrows. So my point is just as the fairy stated. When nothing seems to be working with any of the combos, its probably the bow. And as a warning to you, alot of people will think your heavy arrow vision is ridiculous and that it wont work. I showed the shop guy pictures of the results of my post repair hand loads and I could tell I had his attention finally. He had at least started the thought process! Good luck and it will take time, effort and poss. some repair costs but it does work....
I know this feeling. The shop grabs the bow and shoots through paper quick with fletched arrows and calls it good. They think you’re crazy when you tell them you suspect it need yoke tuning or top hats switched because otherwise your center shot is too far off spec. Like you’re speaking another language.
Saul Good I plan to buy my own press when I move into a new house. I do all my own stuff apart from what requires a press and do not like getting push back or condescending commentary from technicians who feel they hold all archery wisdom.

Man, this stuff is just great. Had my 100 grain heads in my Victory RIP TKO 300's shooting great. Got my Ranch Fairy 200-300 Grain Test Kit yesterday. Couldn't get one of the heavy points to arrow tune. Did what he said, I stopped took a night sleep. Woke up and moved my rest till my 200 Grain points shot awesome. Ranch Fairy keep up the hard work and thanks for all this free info!!
Shout out to Troy. I’ve come across several ...internet sources that have made me a better hunter this off season. But no one has been as much of a game changer as Troy. All the gear , strategy, and tactics are fantastic and needed , but if you don’t recover your animal , why are we doing this. Yeah, gotta say I appreciate the straight forward anti-political correct approach. Sarcasm and straight talk has always worked for me! Thank you good sir!
Preach it brother! I had a customer message me for two weeks trying to paper tune. He was shooting a very grip sensitive bow and really did not know how to tune. I spent hours and hours working with him via messages before we finally got him straightened out.
I think the whole first half of the video was from my message to you last night. Haha! Whether it was or it wasnt thanks for the reassurance troy! Keep up the good fight
Thanks for the video!! Just throwing this out there for people watching, not always when you take it to “the shop” will it come back perfect. A lot of times you might have to move the rest quiet a bit.
Been there and done that. Had to totally undue a paper tune from the pro shop because even though it would shoot bullet holes in paper, and the fixed blade heads hit with the field points it had no penetration and actually bounced a flapper off the side of a deer at 30 yards. In the end had to increase draw length because a slightly too short draw length(half an inch) was inducing bow hand torque, change the rest back to a more center shot position. and then increased point weight,
Definitely late to the party on this video, but I just found the channel last week. The best thing I ever did was to start moving my point/FOC and arrow weight up and paper tuning a few years ago. I would mess with the rest, d-loop, poundage and tiller until I got it right. And the amount of freedom from having to use a specific type of fletching is nice. Once my head wrapped around flight and penetration, I could care less about speed. You're the 1st person that I've heard talk about nock tuning. That'll be next on the list. Adult arrows for the win!!!
Some of the paper hits looked like mine!! But with Patience. Finnally later beams. And with Patiences I need days!!! Thank you for your teaching Mr. RANCH FAIRY!!!
I'm late to the party, only started down this road about 3 weeks ago. I appreciate you dumbing it down and laying out realistic expectations. I'm impatiently waiting on packages to be delivered....
Great video. A lot of good points. I was driving myself crazy paper tuning. Sometimes you have to walk away and come back the next day when you have a clear head.
So what I have gotten out of all of the videos in this series is: 1. You need perfect form when you shoot. 2. Pre fletched arrows cut to length need no tuning. 3. Broadhead/insert weight doesn't matter. 4. You need as much of the total weight to the rear of the arrow. 5. Aluminum shafts are king. 6. It takes 5 minutes per set of 12 to properly tune an arrow. 7. You need to paper tune at 50 yards with a non fletched, pre deployed mechanical broadhead-wielding arrow. I have followed all of your steps to the minute detail and my arrows are travelling perfectly to hit the target exactly how they should. Broadside. Trolling aside though. Very much appreciate all of the hard work you put into your videos, and will definitely be following your videos to get my arrows ready for my first bow hunting excursion this year.
@@RanchFairy I refuse to admit how long it took me to actually took me to type all that out, but that is beside the point. 🤣 So one question I do have though is...fletching dimensions. I know that obviously getting 6 massive flu-flu feathers is the optimal way to go, but I was hoping that, although less ideal, something like a 2"x0.6" vane x3 would be adequate enough. *right after I posted this I realized that may not be enough information, but even just a general idea. I have (and will be using) 100 grain Montec g5's, yes, I know, not adult broadheads, but that's a next year plan, going to be using inserts to get the FOC up to compensate for the baby broadheads.
9:30 that’s exactly what I experienced. bought some Gold tip arrows to set up and hunt with, I’ve had enough of those “tough” yet so delicate FMJ’s. The gold tip arrows are 300 spine cut to 29 1/2 inches with 225 grains (point and insert) up front. I shot a few times just to see how they would fly as I was in a crunch for time. They did pretty well, with a little tweaking to the Nock and making sure my grip was good, they hit the target a little bit nock high but good. I then stripped the fletching off of one of the FMJ that was cut to 27 1/2 ( all the way back to the rest) when I was setup at the shop and shot that. They hit the target sideways so much that I could just about read the branding on the side! It is INSANE how much the fletching corrected the bad arrow flight.
lol I wish this video existed a year ago when I first tried to bare shaft tune my bow a beginner bow hunter. It was definitely one of the most frustrating things I had done in a while. This is the only video I've seen saying it's okay not to be perfect lol. Meanwhile, some other professional archer is correcting for a 1/16in knock high tears in their video. A couple additional suggestions I will add from my experience as a beginner are good strings make this a lot easier over time, make sure your timing is good. Shoot two or three times before adjusting. Also, I figured out aluminum arrows make the initial adjustments a lot easier because you don't have a spine to worry about so if you have some old ones laying around dial down the poundage a bit maybe and give it a try. Then switch to the carbons and knock tune. At least that's what worked for me as a normal human.
I can't wait for my new string to come in so I can tune EVERYTHING. I wish I stumbled on your videos a week earlier than I did because I probably wouldn't have ordered 2 dozen 350 spine arrows. I probably would have ordered some 250s and 300s to see what happens.
Troy, love the channel and all the pearls of wisdom. Plus the smart comments. HAHA 😂 keep it up. Hope it all pays off for the kids and myself this fall. We miss pig hunting down south.
@@RanchFairy totally human. I thought they should have still been flying strait at that distance. I panicked and started changing stuff. Gonna reset my paper tune at a closer distance. Knock tune my arrows and Fletch em.
Just finished my bare shaft tuning and found that the 275 grain head on my 28.5 inch 300 spine arrow is just right. I didn't use paper tuning but just used the target like Troy does. I then nock tuned them and they were perfect at 10 yards. Ready to buy my dozen arrows! Thanks, Troy for all the great videos!
Maybe your best video! I took me a while, but I did see through the Ken Doll, Body by Venison mentality of the "UBER" bare-shafters. I went from cutting 8 1/2 x 11 paper nearly in half with CHART arrows, to ONCE IN A WHILE bullet holes. WASN't easy...I have at least 2 of every spine from 700 to 250, and a pension contribution worth of Ethics gear and arrow supplies to build within 5 grains of any arrow I design on a 3 Rivers calculator...That's what it takes. RF...Thanks for saving me the trouble, 'cause I had noted a need in the YT bareshaft community to get people out of the weeds, that couldn't see the forest through the trees. I'm too busy for videos, and you and Average Jack are doing just fine, lol. That being said, I went nearly 2 months trying to paper tune a bow that I thought was as tuned as I could get it. THEN, I stumbled across info for how to tune a SINGLE CAM BOW (listen up if you don't already know)...My tiller was so out of whack, that when I fixed it, my nock traveled close to an inch. Take a string and clamp it to the cams, so it runs from axel to axel...This is where you measure tiller from...NUN-CHUCKS OUT!
If anybody checks this video b4 getting started. Your grip and form are absolutely vital in having correct arrow flight. Bow hand torque is a huge issue. Make sure you, yourself, are shooting flawlessly(form) b4 taking your bow to the shop. Most of the "pro shops" won't really help you and will just say it's your arrow weight causing problems
Especially the short bows below 32” ATA I get 1,000 messages a month and the “short hunting bows” are unforgiving. Ever wonder why the target guys shoot longer more forgiving systems to hit a really small target? Hmmmmmmm
@@RanchFairy a lot of guys don't take the time to do it. I've discovered so much about myself and my bow that never was even a thought before. My bow I realized is grip sensitive. Literally changing my finger layout, tweeked the torque out of my bow. Thanks for always responding and being revolutionary in the industry
Just got back into shooting after several years away. Never seen an RF video or heard of RF before. But I’m glad I did and have to say The system worked for me! The Nock high result was the most frustrating. I shoot a biscuit and had to raise the nock point to shoot bullet holes. Maybe I missed in a previous video… RF test kit with 300 Apollo!!!! Onto Single Bevel Broadheads Next…
And Make sure your shafts are good! I was doing some bareshaft and broadhead tuning yesterday and at the end of the day had one bareshaft flying like a dart out to 20 and one was flying terrible. Turns out the terrible one had gotten hit earlier in the day and had a 4” hairline crack on the nock end.
What you're saying in this video makes perfect sense to me. I'm no expert, but you want the fletchings on the Arrow to do as little work as possible. A stable arrow is a stable flight. A stable flight will keep your feet per second at a higher rate, better penetration at Peak Performance. Get the bare shaft as good as you can, and let the fletchings do the micro work.
Thanks for the advice RF, I called a psychiatrist to try and book an appointment to discuss my bare shaft problems. The secretary was very polite and professional, but informed me the sex therapist was located on the ground floor, room #69 😳
During this process of bare shaft tuning, I found that my natural rotation on my arrows is left. They were turning about 1/4 turn in 10 yards. I have always used right helical on my vanes but will now go to left helical. Remember to check shaft rotation while BSTing.
Great opening commentary on dude nature and the havoc it can reek on Joe averages mindset. I will say that over the years (many) it is generally the shop that is causing the problems, when it isnt the manufacturer. Learning to wrench is easy and it is a lifetime skill. Problems are an opportunity to learn.
Joe Average mindset is rampant. Mighty Joe Young attitude is everywhere and usually right behind a Mighty Joanne. Joe Dirt mindset is much more peaceful. Peace to all and to all a good day!
I dig the comparison to rifles. I’m a precision long range competitor. Some days I shoot 1/4 MOA, some days 1 MOA. Some days you don’t want to know.. regardless of groups, I’m still usually sneaking into the top 5 at my local club due to experience. Perfection is nice, but experience leads you to make better choices with what you got
If you get so aggravated at people asking questions why post vids. BUUUUUTTTTT you are exactly right about all the different people and there ignorance to tuning. I deal with it too man. You just seem very irritated at your own making. Know what I mean Vern. Your funny as shit.
I have never been able to paper tune any of my bows. I use walk back or French tuning and I can get a two inch group at 50 yards. Plenty good enough to win me a couple of chanpionships in the past.
That's exactly what he mentioned you derp er derp...it's not hard to get it good enough to stick in a stationary foam target. You have to get these flying absolutely dead nuts in order to maximize penetration in order to break bones and zip through vitals like a freaking lazer beam! Pay attention man, you can do better.
Should have watched this before I started my handload process. Last two days been fighting a tiny tear (about thumb width) and been debating on if I needed to adjust my yokes, or not. Gunna try changing my nock position to see if its that. Thankyou again Ranch Fairy! 🧚♂️
You know, I don’t think most people can take your type of sarcasm because most people don’t like the truth. If you’re going to take the plunge into “Adult Arrows”, I guess you have to make the sacrifice and go all in with an open mind and patience. I haven’t tried it yet but I want to. I like the set up you did for Ted. Those broad heads look awesome.
One of the common causes of bow torque and erratic arrow flight even from a tuned set up, is shoulder creep in your bow arm. Push the bow away from your body as far as you can, then push it farther.
Mr. Fairy I got my pointy hat out about 2 weeks ago and started the bare shaft tuning I been shootin 609 grain setups for years so I wanted to move up past 700 maybe 800 my bow now likes 795 grain man oh man I just wanna say thanks for handing me your pointy hat and colabing to make those test kits shooting cut throats 125gn the the brass insert weights and 2413 Eastons with 3in sheild cut feathers lol just let me know who to send the pointy foil hat to next my good man Thanks mr. Ranch rainbow fairy lol 💪💪💪
I will also throw some info I have learned overtime super short bow with high let off if you are moving your head to get your nose to touch the string you are goong to have headaches.. simply pull bow back don’t move your head let sting touch corner of mouth and nose isn’t touching try shooting like that and see how bare shaft reacts takes 5 seconds.. if you want to have nose touching string by a longer bow..
What’s funny is us recurve hunters have known what your talking about for years. It also amazes me recurve/compound if your form sucks your not gonna bare shaft tune.
Speaking of using paper, I have a bow I’ve hunted with for years. It shot bullet holes until I upped the arrows to 550. No amount of nock tuning worked on some arrows, fishtailed right. I didn’t want to but moved the rest a little, it improved. Moved it a little more, perfect. So went back to paper to see how bad I screwed it up. Bullet holes. Is it because of the higher FOC the arrow flexes more even though the spine is stiffer? Not sure but it works now. Took my back up bow and set it up for 650 arrows. Same thing. Fish tailed until I moved the rest a touch. Two different bows by 2 different manufacturers. Several different brands of arrows. Some flew worse than others but all now fly pretty well now. I’ve got several different broad head choices I’ve tried on these arrows and so far no major problems. Things are looking good.
🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!!! That was funny but on a real note, you should be a teacher. Man, you're gifted! That was too much. I'm gonna watch that a few more times🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!!
The bow counter at most places around here are run by 18-20 year olds who got a 10 minute lesson on how to cut arrows and glue insert and set draw length and are then deemed the shop pro. All the bow they sell are package bows and "tuned" from the factory. So no set up or diagnostic ability required.
Haha thanks Troy I had the same thing happen with me. All high right , went to the shop three times please swap top hats please swap top hats please swap top hats... no ,no it’s your grip , damnit ok I’ll swap em . Been shooting bullets ever since.
Thank you for putting up with us idiots. You pressing on and continue to shell out videos and deal with the all the bs for a process that is quite strait forward. Get it.......
You made it to the big time if people are complaining and seeking your grand knowledge to solve there problems. Do they not remember your max range is 40 yards with an 850 grain plus set up!!!!! I don’t paper tune, I don’t bare shaft tune. If I get a softball group at 40 yards and my arrow isn’t doing anything goofy....I’m good. I keep it simple cuz I’m stupid! But I also invested in taking the bow shop out of the equation, cuz stupid has to learn from stupid!!!!!!!
My arrows are impacting tail high but raising my whisker brisket makes the issue worse. I haveto lower my rest drastically to get my arrows to fly straight. Lowering my rest to get my arrows to fly straight, which seems wrong but for some reason that's what's happening, my arrows look like theyre way out of level relative to the bow when I'm not drawn back.
You’re the only person talking about this?!? Talk to the target guys! And yeah, we put bareshafts into the X at 20 yards. But we do tend to be insane 😉
So, ok, that's a valid point. Why do the target guys do this? I bet it has something do to with being accurate. So, I'll pull back and say "in bowhunting" I am one of the few! Funny stuff, bowhunting, when we want to hit a quarter sized target, the arrows get tuned. Fly a broadhead...nahhhhhhhhhhhh Not important. Now I am the only person saying accuracy in the field is more important than a silly target.
@@RanchFairy Accuracy in the field is indeed important. I’m just saying I have been hearing this for decades. It’s why I learned to broadhead tune. In fact, when I wanted to be extra precise, I would even broadhead tune my target arrows (at least the ones that had inserts).
@@johnarcher9480 100% agree. Its just that the amount of “precision” (4 foot stabilizers, backbars, releases, scopes, etc) to shoot “accurately” is a 3-D and target focused strategy. I’ve not heard many people go into as much detail about hunting arrows and bow accuracy with the same granular focus - well, there is a fairy. But he’s an idiot and we all know it!! 😂 I pressed a guy on one of the podcasts I did and he agreed longer bows are more forgiving and stable (I’m talking 34” instead of 30”). He’s a self appointed super shooter and way better than anyone on earth!!! Anyway, he said “it’s harder to hunt with a longer bow”…… Meaning - We will sacrifice hunting accuracy (which he agreed on just bow length) for hunting. It was quite amazing. Industry line is strong
@@RanchFairy While 4 foot long stabilizers sound like a bit of hyperbole, long bows in hunting are common. I won’t buy a bow under 35” for hunting. If he needs a shorter bow to hunt with, I wonder where he is hunting. Do you not use a release? And while yes, he, and virtually everyone else is sacrificing SOME accuracy in a hunting rig. The key is to get the most accuracy while still being able to effectively hunt. Drop the “4 foot” stabs for something shorter, but perhaps heavier. For some, drop the 40” ATA bow for something shorter if need be. If you aren’t shooting a full target rig, and can’t outshoot that worlds greatest archer shooting a 30” bow, what are you even arguing about? Why is your bow only 34”? Most of the top shooters (3-D and target) that hunt put just as much effort into their hunting arrows as they do their target arrows, if not more.

Thanks for making these videos you helped me out getting my bow tuned in fairly close now to work on me and my groupings
Some of the paper hits looked like mine!! But with Patience. Finnally later beams. And with Patiences I need days!!! Thank you for your teaching Mr. RANCH FAIRY!!!
Great video Troy loving the THP vids from the ranch I can’t wait to test out my hand loads on a booner
I'm late to the party, only started down this road about 3 weeks ago. I appreciate you dumbing it down and laying out realistic expectations. I'm impatiently waiting on packages to be delivered....
Snort the fairy dust
Great video. A lot of good points. I was driving myself crazy paper tuning. Sometimes you have to walk away and come back the next day when you have a clear head.
Excellent explanation - tune it to as near perfect as you can, then let the fletching do what little work that remains. Pretty smart.
Richard Dean
After 51 years......hahhahahah
So what I have gotten out of all of the videos in this series is:
You’re spot on!!! 😂 😆 😹
Successful sarcasm on a comment is not easy my friend
@@RanchFairy I refuse to admit how long it took me to actually took me to type all that out, but that is beside the point. 🤣
So one question I do have though is...fletching dimensions.
NEVERMIND! First video in this series (High FOC Arrow Build Basics) at about 30:25 this is actually specified.
Dude you're funny outtakes about archery stuff and your mannerisms, you make me laugh I love watching your videos keep them coming
“Fletching covers a multitude of sins”
This may just be your BEST video EVER!!
My brother and I just ran into this issue this weekend with his bow. We are taking it in this weekend!
lol I wish this video existed a year ago when I first tried to bare shaft tune my bow a beginner bow hunter. At least that's what worked for me as a normal human.
good sensible advice...noob here
Yep, awesome video again & clarified the fairy formula a little more!! A million thanks RF!!!!
Watching this vid againagainagain-thanks Troy!
I can't wait for my new string to come in so I can tune EVERYTHING. I wish I stumbled on your videos a week earlier than I did because I probably wouldn't have ordered 2 dozen 350 spine arrows. I probably would have ordered some 250s and 300s to see what happens.
Troy, thank you for sharing this . I think it’s one of the most informative videos you’ve ever posted, it has literally saved me from going crazy.
Here to help with mental health issues!!
Great job Troy, love your videos and pure honesty. I thank you, i have learned a great deal from you kind sir, keep em coming brother.
Troy, love the channel and all the pearls of wisdom. Plus the smart comments. HAHA 😂 keep it up. Hope it all pays off for the kids and myself this fall. We miss pig hunting down south.
Comments on bare shaft tuning were very informative. I'm gonna strip most of my GTs and start over.
Glad I came back and watched this. Had a good paper tune. Tried a 20yrd bare shaft and could see my arrows kicking out. Gotta reset.
Matthew Kalmbach
Or maybe you’re human.
@@RanchFairy totally human. I thought they should have still been flying strait at that distance. I panicked and started changing stuff. Gonna reset my paper tune at a closer distance. Knock tune my arrows and Fletch em.
Matthew Kalmbach
Well technically they “should” except
The human thing makes it crazy!!! Move on man
Just finished my bare shaft tuning and found that the 275 grain head on my 28.5 inch 300 spine arrow is just right. I didn't use paper tuning but just used the target like Troy does. I then nock tuned them and they were perfect at 10 yards. Ready to buy my dozen arrows! Thanks, Troy for all the great videos!
What poundage are you at?
@@decaturridgebees8761 70 lb draw
@@robertshepard8482 I’m currently working same dL but 60#. 300 spine with 122 g insert and 125 grain point. Still tweaking though.
Love it! K.I.S.S. method...chill...it takes time to get it right-people shouldn’t OCD about it
Maybe your best video!
This video is just what I needed to see today! All tears going one direction, heading to the shop soon
Saw you on thp and i can listen to you all day man you very smart trying to learn alot ty
Especially the short bows below 32” ATA
I get 1,000 messages a month and the “short hunting bows” are unforgiving.
@@Heavy_Arrow312
Heck yeah! There’s some bows that hate being held and pulled back! Hahhaha
Crotchety old man bow!
Rest might be sagging.
I have similar issues when I run 700 grains and a biscuit
This is PERFECTLY explained
AH HA!! Someone paying attention!
Haha I could seriously watch you all day! Stay awesome brother!
You should team up with someone and make some ranch fairy vanes!
Thanks for the advice RF, I called a psychiatrist to try and book an appointment to discuss my bare shaft problems. The secretary was very polite and professional, but informed me the sex therapist was located on the ground floor, room #69 😳
Ha! I just noticed Ted from THP @ 18:07; that's awesome!
During this process of bare shaft tuning, I found that my natural rotation on my arrows is left. They were turning about 1/4 turn in 10 yards. I have always used right helical on my vanes but will now go to left helical. Remember to check shaft rotation while BSTing.
How do you observe the direction of the spin of a bare shaft?
@@billbee235
Same here - sporting clays! Some days they are in trouble - others - apparently my shells have no shot in them!
John Scott
Great
That's exactly what he mentioned you derp er derp...it's not hard to get it good enough to stick in a stationary foam target.
A man with a thumb size tear should fletch one and shoot a broadhead. You’re human.
That's how you weed em out. Happy Hunting! It is supposed to be happy
I’m about to take the deep dive with FOC.
Love the content you’re changing the game for me. And I watched ted n jake drop those 🐖 thats what im looking for
So much information, thankyou
Such a great video
You cleared up a lot of stuff for guys I am sure, me included
Im having a similar problem always the same way im getting it looked at next week so hopefully they get it fixed
One of the common causes of bow torque and erratic arrow flight even from a tuned set up, is shoulder creep in your bow arm. Push the bow away from your body as far as you can, then push it farther.
So many awesome videos lol. K click one watch it, then scroll down and see ten more I need to watch lmao!!
Mr. Fairy I got my pointy hat out about 2 weeks ago and started the bare shaft tuning I been shootin 609 grain setups for years so I wanted to move up past 700 maybe 800 my bow now likes 795 grain man oh man I just wanna say thanks for handing me your pointy hat and colabing to make those test kits shooting cut throats 125gn the the brass insert weights and 2413 Eastons with 3in sheild cut feathers lol just let me know who to send the pointy foil hat to next my good man
Thanks mr. Ranch rainbow fairy lol 💪💪💪
Modern day Jesus. Im sure God sent us the Ranch Fairy to bring happiness to our lives. Good stuff
Cam sync and timing is another one to watch for on high an low tears
Soon I will get back to shooting and set up some magnums. Want to really see the 800 grain flying
Well said man good work
I will also throw some info I have learned overtime super short bow with high let off if you are moving your head to get your nose to touch the string you are goong to have headaches.. simply pull bow back don’t move your head let sting touch corner of mouth and nose isn’t touching try shooting like that and see how bare shaft reacts takes 5 seconds.. if you want to have nose touching string by a longer bow..
Good advise Ranch.
What’s funny is us recurve hunters have known what your talking about for years. It also amazes me recurve/compound if your form sucks your not gonna bare shaft tune.
Always good info Troy.
I’ve got several different broad head choices I’ve tried on these arrows and so far no major
problems.
Things are looking good.
🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!!! That was funny but on a real note, you should be a teacher. Man, you're gifted! That was too much. I'm gonna watch that a few more times🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!!
@derek burdon yes! This man is hilarious. Guaranteed uncontrollable laughter! Insane!! Absolutely love it
The bow counter at most places around here are run by 18-20 year olds who got a 10 minute lesson on how to cut arrows and glue insert and set draw length and are then deemed the shop pro.
What do mean we’re human !? 😂

Its all about shot placement!!!( thats why i use a 6" expandable flap jack...)
If you change anything on your bow you must retune! ANYTHING!
The Outdoor Mentors
Yup
The ancient "Easton Tuning Guide" is a great resource for all bows!! It has a section on paper tuning. Just do a search & download it.
pretty hard to dis-agree with you
"Not a professional psychological counsellor" ... died.
Good point "animals don't know they are supposed to die" lol
You made it to the big time if people are complaining and seeking your grand knowledge to solve there problems. Do they not remember your max range is 40 yards with an 850 grain plus set up!!!!! I don’t paper tune, I don’t bare shaft tune. If I get a softball group at 40 yards and my arrow isn’t doing anything goofy....I’m good. I keep it simple cuz I’m stupid! But I also invested in taking the bow shop out of the equation, cuz stupid has to learn from stupid!!!!!!!
I started talking to my shrink about bulletholes and what not. They want me on Thorazine. 🤷🏼♂️😂
Cheers for your video. Did you get your broadheads from Australia yet? Are you going to do a video on them?
My arrows are impacting tail high but raising my whisker brisket makes the issue worse. I haveto lower my rest drastically to get my arrows to fly straight. Lowering my rest to get my arrows to fly straight, which seems wrong but for some reason that's what's happening, my arrows look like theyre way out of level relative to the bow when I'm not drawn back.
Lol god I love you bro.
When you are near the finish line. Should you orientate the broad head vertically or horizontal? Blades up down or left right.
The laugh never gets old 🤣
You’re the only person talking about this?!?
Talk to the target guys!
And yeah, we put bareshafts into the X at 20 yards. But we do tend to be insane 😉
So, ok, that's a valid point.
Why do the target guys do this? I bet it has something do to with being accurate.
So, I'll pull back and say "in bowhunting" I am one of the few! Funny stuff, bowhunting, when we want to hit a quarter sized target, the arrows get tuned.
Fly a broadhead...nahhhhhhhhhhhh
Not important. Now I am the only person saying accuracy in the field is more important than a silly target.
@@RanchFairy
Accuracy in the field is indeed important. I’m just saying I have been hearing this for decades.
It’s why I learned to broadhead tune.
In fact, when I wanted to be extra precise, I would even broadhead tune my target arrows (at least the ones that had inserts).
@@johnarcher9480
100% agree. 😂
I pressed a guy on one of the podcasts I did and he agreed longer bows are more forgiving and stable (I’m talking 34” instead of 30”). He’s a self appointed super shooter and way better than anyone on earth!!! Anyway, he said “it’s harder to hunt with a longer bow”……
Meaning -
We will sacrifice hunting accuracy (which he agreed on just bow length) for hunting. It was quite amazing. Industry line is strong
@@RanchFairy
While 4 foot long stabilizers sound like a bit of hyperbole, long bows in hunting are common.
@@johnarcher9480
