- We got an early peek at the 2015 CM16 SRL Combat Machine, and what we found inside and out was a big shock. Spoiler alert: MOSFET.
(Update - This model also has a 3 round burst mode that can be enabled and disabled by holding the trigger down for 10 seconds in semi-auto)

Being a real steel guy, with a,ton of experience and firearms, it is pretty cool to see that many can train, or employ for tactics, VERY similar weapons to their true combat gear. This is not ONLY ,a plus for operators, but, for those who may be exercising airsoft, prior to live, it allows a decent transition for muscle memory and hands on.
For G&G, WHAT A WEAPON! The details and the jump for entry level players, young or old, is essential to the quality and price...and SEEING G&G on other levels, this looks to be home run capable! I just purchased indoor guns for my son and I, as we move frim full metal, higher powered outdoor guns, to something much more friendly to mobile environments and CQB. The G26 and DST are very good to us so far, but this review is WHERE I was hoping to find the new addition. I am thankful it will be available and will be adding it, and a Firehawk FOR MY SMALL BOY, to the collection later. Disabled vets and thise with smaller budgets will appreciate longevity, durability and this type quality, at the lower cost spectrum.

I've played airsoft for many years now and I have gone through many guns, mostly budget friendly intermediate M4s (I love the AR platform and I do not have a big budget) then I decided to get a higher end gun that'll last longer. Or so I thought, and it was garbage. Then after that gun broke I bought a G&G CM16 Raider-L from a buddy who was transferring to real firearms, and I love it! It has pretty good range, fps, and rate of fire. All the attachments fit on the rails, and it's an easy gun to play with all day. This gun you just reviewed is in a different zip code! Looks like a beast and hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg! Nice work as always!

I've been using my G&G GR4 G26 for a year now, Saturday and Sunday games and training during the week, dumped about 400k bbs through it and it's still shooting about the same as it was when new (2-3 fps difference) and I freaking love it. Having a CM that looks a bit different and beating it so hard, I'm really thinking of adding this new CM to my collection. Awesome job G&G! And great job as always Jonathan!

Thank you g&g for bringing us a great gun for a decent budget with pre upgraded parts and a low enough fps (with the cqb version) for UK fields... Exactly what I was looking for!

These new combat machines are a beast on a 11.1 lipo!.
This will be my second cm16 but my older cm16 still hasn't let me down and i've had it for nearly 2 years. It is great for beginers.
Opened up my combat machine after about 2 years and it was in great condition. Nothing had stripped of broke.

g&g is a easy choice when you think about a starter airsoft gun, or even as a secondary aeg.

we just got this in stock at our store, and I gotta say, I am EXTREMELY impressed. very very high quality gun. the whole thing feels tight, and given the metal upper it's actually the lightest m4 we sell. plus the MOSFET is programmable for 3 round burst.

hey Jonathan, I use a G&G combat machine and I love it. I do want to upgrade the internals. I have found with a lot of use and stress from weather in games on the east coast, the fps has dropped. I am going to improve inner barrel and likely the spring. I have fired rougly 80,000 bbs with this one rifle and it still works
Hmmm, Combat Machine, never heard of it here, in Czech republic. On the other hand, GG guns are very hard to find here. CYMA AKs and DBoy M4s are still way to go here...
Also, for being such a small channel, your production quality is miles above any airsoft channel that I know of that has simmilar number of subs an even higher. With you, being determined so much that you even do TH-cam full time at this point, I can see this channel growing really big. Keep up the incredible work, Jonathan!
G&g is an amazing company and I feel like after these new CMs hit the market, the Airsoft manufacturers will be trying to compete with g&g. Which is great because then the whole community is growing, not just a company itself.
Hey Johnathon not sure if you knew but that gun has a built in 3 round burst you just have to but the gun into semi automatic then hold the trigger for 10 seconds then switch to full auto and it will shoot 3 round burst. To shut it off switch it back to semi automatic and hold the trigger for another 10 seconds.

I think the new combat machine series is meeting the demand of airsofters for something new, but simultaneously stepping up to a new level of quality, giving it more appeal. I hope to get my hands on one of these bad boys.
FYI, I wrote this before checking every playlist for it. Hey Jonathan, I couldn't find any reviews of your "gear" (helmets, more vests with your ideas on pouch setups, etc.) If you had any already, forget this comment, but if you actually haven't posted videos of this stuff, can you please add it into this series? More details about the ETU/MOSFET features please. For instance, if you hold the trigger down VERY briefly and release quickly, does it still complete a cycle of firing?
*WHY WHY WHY* didn't you do a shooting test in this video? I hate it when people call something that's more of an "expanded unboxing" than a review, a review. An airosft review should, at minimum, show a shooting test. To be a really good review, show us the internals, how well the gearbox is shimmed, test the air seal, tell us about the inner barrel: what is the ID, what is it made out of, etc?
Honestly, as someone who sells G&G at an airsoft store, i can say that the Combat MAchines have been a game changer recently. They have damn near made the ACM brands like JG, Cyma and Dboys obsolete. G&G's quality, performance and reliability far outperform the competiton in this price range, and even their Full Metal models are very well built. Having mosfets, and more recently coming with LiPos instead of the old Nimh batteries just shows theya re one step ahead of most others.
I personally own 2 G&Gs, having traded my ICS's in after is tarted selling G&G. The SRL will definately be a third aquisition, and when i can get my hands on the new modular system, that's going to be Nr.4.

This is NOT a review... You're basically taking 7 minutes to tell us that the gun looks good. Awesome. Now, how does it shoot? I don't really care about the looks if I'm missing everything.

I heard some people started using the g&g MOSFETs for dsgs and high speeds. Is this MOSFET strong enough to handle this much stress?
I love the combat machine because its an easy airsoft gun to upgrade and is very durable. my only problem with it is the gears and that they tend to wear out after a while, but overall I recommend it.

How comparable are these too the ARES Amoeba series? I have used an ares amoeba 007 for several months now, and its nice to see that G&G is catching up with the amoebas (and krytacs for that matter). How internally does it stand up to the amoebas/krytacs? Amoebas come stock with a row of full metal piston teeth, fcu and brass tightbore to name a few. Does the SRL have any of these things in them?

Did they beef up the internals, or is it still the Swiss cheese soft gearbox will they still shred after a very short time using an 11.1?

I want to know your take on what is a better stock performer. I don't do internal upgrades, and I want to buy a super reliable gun that will last long, I have been looking at the kwa sr7, and sr10.?I've also been eyeing the krytac trident crb? They both look super awesome and great, or you have another alternative around that price range for an aeg. Thanks for anyone's intake and help :D much appreciated
Had this gun 5 years and its still working great :D probably getting another as a loner gun :D still in 2020 nothing else at this price comes close.
Did you have any problems with it? I'm currently having issues where it randomly stops shooting. I've only used it once. RIP
@@A.B.3103 no I haven't :) they are fussy about the batterys they like. Try a 15c 11.1 lipo.

Hey Jonathan, just wondering if you knew about it ,but i have a problem with my CM16 SRL, not sure of the problem, but my trigger isnt shooting as should, the mosfet doesnt seem to want to shoot in burst whe ni cnfigure it, and ai also have these 1 second intervals between pulling the trigger. you know how to fix this?

Hi Jonathan I have a hk416 that doesn't have the greatest rof, i don't want to do any internal upgrades but was thinking of getting a higher voltage battery, my current battery is a 7.2 but I was thinking of a 9.6, would this damage my gearbox?

the motor in mine stalls if i use a 9.6 after 3 shots but with a lipo it works just fine
Huh, maybe the gear box shim job needs to be improved? Is it a GOOD 9.6 battery, not old and nearly dead?
My 7.4 LiPo 1400mah 20c butterfly type battery when fully charged will only last for an hour of non-continuous skirmishing use before lighting up the low battery light in the mosfet. I tried with both of my batteries (same in all factors) yet, the same thing happens. When I checked my battery with my charger, my battery was found to be at 7.6v but still not shooting.
I then bought an 11.1v 1000mah 20c LiPo, then it will last for 4 hours or more of non-continuous skirmishing.
According to the video, it was said to use 7.4v batteries for longevity, but it doesn't work. So am I supposed to use 11.1v LiPo with this gun or 7.4v LiPo?
11.1v is recommended over the 7.4v for this gun
The new line of G&G has better quality than the old ones and slightly better trigger response due to the mosfet, BUT the new electronic trigger system has no reset on semi which is a big downfall. The traditional airsoft aeg trigger swich has a better design and you could also rewire it with a mosfet.
Do all srl come with the medel flash hider or do some come with the orange
I wish it shot less then 350 tbh but prob. A m90 spring will tone it down wish it had a qcsg
Neat gun we have one ( my gf using it ) 1 thing the flash hider is plastic as well. Also any one knows their new line midcaps ( looks like the hicap just 120 rd) got rubber on them or just plstic ?
Huge step up nevertheless ares amoeba is still a better gun and deal if you ask me 👍🏼

I picked this up. No rails included. This is a great gun. The only Con I see is that they went so far to make it ambidextrous but only have a single sided sling attachment at the buffer

Saddly, the ETU can't withstand an 11.1 lipo with 15c. Mine burnt out in a week. Nice work G&G. Really proud.
@ITMilsim what was G&G's response? The MOSFET burned out?
You void the warranty, because it's an "electrical failure". I didn't contact them. The mosfet is fried. If you bypase the fuse with like a paper clip, it will get red hot and the mosfet will start to sizzle.
I bough mine from airsoft gi and they don't include a battery or charger😣

I have an old combat machine (full metal body). It was a great beginner gun but as i got more into it i understood what the guy was talking about. Im gonna be honest and say that this gun is super easy to upgrade considering it doesnt have some of the fancy and confusing features a novice tech would face. probably the only thing i would be concerned with is the gearbox shell. I don't know if it's a legit complaint or something but a lot of people have been telling me that they crack easily and i've seen it in a game. So i don't know if G&G did something for that but i would love to see one with a reinforced gearbox for us running dsg setups and high fps. but other than that i have to say DDDaaaannnnngg G&G you made a great gun! who needs krytac?? lol jk

No matter what magazine I use in this gun, it seems to have feeding issues... It'll skip some rounds, especially on semi-auto. Does anyone have any insight on this, or maybe ways to help/fix it?

Never actually seen one in the field, the G&G Combat Machine is a mid-level gun in the Philippines. everybody uses JG, A&K or CYMA stuff.

A 15c lipo is not beating a gun up at all. I use a 65-130c discharge battery. If a gun with a mosfet couldn't withstand a 15c lipo that would be pathetic.
NuclearAirsofters Just because it has a mosfet does not mean the gears and motor can be hammered. All a mosfet does is act like a relay and remove any arcing across the trigger contacts by running very low current over them, then they use the drain on the mosfet to control the high current. Simple stuff. Mosfet =/= total mechanical protection.
rkshireygames I understand what your saying, but the gears shouldn't be hammered with a 15c lipo anyway. That is about the weakest lipos you can get. My gears haven't been hammered and I'm using an 11.1v 65-130c lipo, so I don't know why he thought it was so good that it could handle a 15c lipo. Thanks for the advice though, maybe you misinterpreted what I meant.
NuclearAirsofters An 11.1 will be harder on it than a 8.4, even if they are both 15 c.

NuclearAirsofters Yes I will. I will be doing a side by side of Jack and the fusion engine, and many other videos gearing more toward the technical side of airsoft, mainly HPA, but other things too.

I saw one of these at the store awhile back but the muzzle velocity said 330 how come yours showed 375-380?
