This rifle is amazing. I purchased mine about a year ago and i have had no major problems with it at all. I did put a slight spring upgrade into it just to boost it up to 350 but i saw no drawbacks in other areas of the gun doing this. A few months ago i put a TM hop in the predator and it boosted the range and flight consistency up massively. i have noticed that the stock can become loose very quickly in this gun, so i would advise getting a long Philips head screwdriver; the screw is located within the stock. over all. In conclusion i would strongly consider getting this rifle as it is lightweight, durable, consistent and it looks absolutely amazing!

it's nice to see it's competitive price point but personally I think I'd rather go with the krytac crb instead
I got the Black version of this gun and it's basically the same thing and it is totally worth every dime

Jonathan, nice review as per usual... although I'm a little disappointed you didn't mention the internal upgrades a bit more. As this gc16 version has an uprated 25k high torque neo magnet motor. As well as 8mm ball bearings instead of bushings like the combat machine. From my understanding the barrel is also improved.
And he didn’t mention the three round burst either
Wait, so if it says GC 16 does that mean it has the 25K motor?
That gun was my second rifle, and it functions perfectly even in -5'c. My favourite rifle.

I got the G&G gc16 warthog and it is outstanding
The new version has a nice little burst fire mode, I LOVE mine.
btw, i know from talking to the g&g guys that they put there high torque 2500 rpm motor in there gc16 series guns, in my opinion it rivels krytacs motor. and i have tested it extensively and it has proven a spectacular addition!

he forgot to mention the gun comes standard with a mosfet allowing you to hold the semi trigger down for 10 seconds which switche syour fullauto to 3rnd urst

Just got the gun and wow the trigger feels so good and the response is awesome. Is quite loud like the firehawk but maybe not that much, pulling the trigger the gun reacts very quickly and I have yet to stumble or choke the gun in any fire mode. With the firehawk and my brothers AK and 417 if you go full auto or semi and pull the trigger too quickly sometimes it doesn't finish a cycle or over cycles, with the GC16 it always finishes the cycle you started no matter how fast you pull and release the trigger. Really happy! :D
I got my gun as new in the UK at 304 fps, and each shot is within 1 fps. It is so nice. :)
I have the srxl red edition which is essentially the same under the hood. I plan on getting this or another gc series next in full metal. I am addicted to the gg electronic trigger unit. The feel and performance is better than my vfc Umarex 416c

I like the look of this gun a lot. If and when i do inevitably get it, i'll be slapping a mock suppressor or tracer unit on the tip, will add so much to the already mean styling.

had one loved it!! but moved on to TM MWS, only thing I will say is the mag release can be a bit awkward and on mine was easy to pull mags out with little effort, switched the catch though and atfter that no issues at all :-) want another!!!

Are G&G platforms worth getting? I asked at the store recently and the employee was pretty reticent about the brand, didn't help the store didn't sell their guns either. Should I take his advice or just go with my gut?
AtticWarrior1994 I personally love my predator, as for G&Gs as a whole they are usually pretty good for compared to other guns at a similar price.

i heard that the mosfet on this gun have problems, so as the hop up (same as in CM16)
Hey Jonathan, I have this gun and I have two problems that recur, the fire selector switch is a little off and loose on the other side despite tightening and lube, the other is that the gears lock up and you have to pull the motor out and shoot a few times and then put it back in. The select fire is doable for an amount of time but if your gears lock up in the battlefield, your pretty much screwed unless your fast with a screwdriver. I was hoping you might have a solution to these problems, thx for the great vids and your time.
The problem is you bought a G&G. The solution is to go buy another gun.
I have this gun from when it was released and I've not encountered these problems. Just had to do some tinkering to create more battery space
what would be a good spring to use for an upgrade?
Great video as always. Can you recommend a good pair of goggles. The ones I have been using keep fogging up and can be a pain while playing. I don't mind going to mesh. Thanks 😄😄

+OP Airsoft honestly I've been holding on to $500 for a new gun. There are a few awesome guns out there I could get and mod to this spec. But I don't think they would look this sweet.

Will a LIPO 7.4V 1300MAH 25C 2SPLIT GEN 2 do the job? I never used a Lipo before and I don't know what's the difference between NiMh and Lipo...
Is the CM16 SRL better than this or is this better? I am thinking of buying a nice intermediate gun for about 250$ any advice would be great!

RedBeltPanda This one is better as far as I know, but the srl is great too. Also i find the look of this one a bit better, because the rail is not just straight in the front like on the srl.
is the only difference between the gc16 and gm16 is the body made from different materials.
In my country it costs 390 euros(without battery and charger), is it worth buying it as my first aeg?

Here's a question for your show. How are Aegs able to burst? I've seen many custom builds with hi rate of fire guns that fire in bursts perfectly but never understood how they do that.
Mosfets
There are some high end MOSFET out there that help with fire rate and are programmable burst. My custom 416 is. Honestly $100 or a little more. You can make your gun one hell of a nail driver. I extended the barrel, increased the motor torque, lightened the spring, upgraded mosfet and deans connectors. I get about 27rps. I could get more but I really don't need to. Honestly if you want a hose 22-25 is completely perfect. Anything more is just gravy.
Hey Johnathan, I'm active duty army and would like to get back into airsoft. I need an AEG that is low maintenance and performs well out of the box. Do you think a Systema PTW is a good choice or should I buy a regular AEG? Thanks, love the show.
Regular AEG, Systemas are Gucci weapons, because the cost only comes from the externals and also compatibility is an issue.
A regular AEG is cheaply upgradeable, there are plenty of, they will just last as long and most importantly, some models are cheap and better than the run of the middle PTW.
Check G&G models with Mosfets, try to go with an M4 since magazines are reliable and reasonably priced.
But avoid electric models with electronic blowback, it isn´t really like recoil, takes battery-energie and is prone to fail.
I would for example recommond the ARP 556 by G&G.

It has a real Snapping Turtle look to the end. The green isn't helping either. I kind of dig the look though.
Can someone explain to me the mouth part at the muzzle is it purpose of some sort of door breacher. I love to see its demonstration. I know this is airsoft I just want to know what the idea was for of having that mouth on rail

Hiya I know this is a dated video but it was a great review and am currently looking at purchasing this. Is there any difference between the 3 choices of the gun? Black, Hunter Green or Battleship grey. Seen a few reviews and the FPS was different on some of them. Just wondered if you know if there were any differences or if guns just naturally range in FPS out of the box

Hi johnathan, can you review a (APS ASR-118 "Boar Tactical" Custom Silver Edge 17" KeyMod Airsoft AEG - Black.) I want to know if it is a good gun? Thanks like the show.
The aps asr boars are great externally speaking but but there internals are not that great but they are at the same time it does have good features and good intention internally however its just for marketing it does come with a ball bearing spring guide quick release 8mm ball bearing and a decent polyacetal piston but the blowback and the bad tolerances as well as really low grade steel gears just ruins everything else making the aps gearbox really crap everything internally as i said is just for gimmicks
