    Just saying for all you people out who are new to airsoft and wanna switch to deans, DON'T CUT THE WIRES AT THE SAME TIME IT WILL SHORT OUT AND ARC AND MORE THAN LIKELY RUIN YOUR BATTERY.

    I don't mind certain speedsofters, but basically all the speedsofters I've run into just sit around at the back with a polarstar doing nothing but holding down the trigger and acting like that makes them the best player there. I feel that's why speedsoft catches so much flak.

    • @gumbykillah4761
      @gumbykillah4761 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      William Gillespie I wouldn't call that a speed softer I would say that's some rich kid who thinks polarstars are the only 30+ rps gun who's too scared to get shot XD

    Do you think in the future for this type of video, you could give timecodes in the description for each thing you talk about? I don't have a lot of free time and unfortunately can't really commit to a whole 11 minute video when frankly some of the things just don't interest me. Not trying to insult you at all! I promise. Very big fan of the channel, it's just a pain skipping through stuff that doesn't really pertain to me or interest me.

    Just a thought here, For my RC gear i have upgraded my batteries and thing from the Deans connector to the XT60 connectors.. Since doing this i am now switching to the XT30 connector available from HobbyKing. These are small connectors, easy to put together and take apart, they have low resistance and are good for 30A constant current.
    I think if im going to upgrade connectors then these are what i will be switching to..

    • @davidfaustino4476
      @davidfaustino4476 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah the XT30s are more than capable of handling the current draw of high power AEGs.. and they're smaller than dean's.

    My God.. All I ever got to do at home in the Philippines was Speedsoft, speedsoft, speedsoft. I'm so happy to become an overall type of Airsofter/MiLsimmer here in the US. Not one single regret moving here. Lol. The Airsoft sites in the Philippines are nothing compared to the simplest US local fields.

    My go to for all plugs dealing with LiPo = XT60 or Bullet style connectors. XT60 for anything normal, high draw (and I mean, super high, like 60c+ 6-8S [22.2v - 29.6v]) gets bullet connectors

  • @NepaAirsoft
    @NepaAirsoft 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Used EC3 connectors for years in RC and switched a few rifles over to them. They work fine and according to the chart you included in your description, are close to Deans in power comparison..

    use a file to roughen up the tips on the deans connector. I have never had difficulty soldering things together until I bought some deans clips to put on batteries to fit my gun which came Deans clipped. The solder just wouldn't stick to the prongs until I roughed them up a bit.

    hi there Jonathan, keep up the great videos, the one on the deans connectors was great, could you please mention that when changing the connector on the battery to cut each wire separately, if not they will short the battery out, it may sound stupid to say this but I have seen it done recently and ruined a brand new battery as most of the batteries we get here are still Tamiya connectors, I think moving the show to Tuesday would be great again many thanks and keep up the good work

    BEST INFORMATIONAL VIDEO ON DEANS EVER MADE

  • @sevenproxies4255
    @sevenproxies4255 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's not just the reduction in resistance, the dean plugs are so much smaller than tamiya plugs as well, which is a really great advantage for many aeg's where battery space tend to be quite limited. Deans are also better insulated against water and pose less of a risk to cause a short circuit. The pins in a tamiya tend to be quite brittle and might come loose from the plastic casing too, something that doesn't happen with deans since the cables are soldered onto them.
    There really is no reason whatsoever to run tamiya.

    What are the benefits and downsides of getting a power up suppressor for any kwa gbb? I've heard the extra pressure created by the suppressor destroys the hop up and nozzle.

  • @weeges23

    anther advance of deans is a geometry and standardization:small compact plugs who accept all batteries ( from large to small sizes ). No need to buy/ make a plug convertor anymore or buy a special battery :-)

    Regarding the speedsoft part, its not stirring up for the sakr of stirring up. A huge part of airsoft is the realism and that immersive experience, if you have someone running around with a bright pink gun it takes away from the realistic experience and makes it seem like a typical everyday sport..

    XT60's are great plugs too, I came from the freestyle drone world and we all used XT60's because of the low resistance, high current connections. Dean's are good but the xt60, imo are better

    Deans are better in ANY electronic connection. And they perform better then the Xt60 connectors. For example I like to go professional R/C car racing (Hint my profile pic:D) and we need that fast discharge rate (120c-150c) batteries. And deans out class any connector because it has the most contact and it is made out of the best material.

      American Tactical Defense AIRSOFT because most people dont have deans batteries and believe it or not alot of the younger kids who play airsoft can solder, and honestly tamiyas work ok but deans are just a bit better

    • @D.Heisler
      @D.Heisler 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      well green gas has a lot less power behind it and CO2 is very powerful although you can buy CQB CO2 pistols which have a lower fps. It also depends on where you live, if you live in a cold environment (like I live in Minnesota and its always cold here) Its probably best to get a CO2 pistol. Hope this helps Elves Airsoft

    Hi Higgs, thanks for the video🤗 super interesting ! So the question is: if Deans connectors are so efficient and cool, why the hell the big airsoft AEG production companies still use Tamiya connectors ? It doesn’t make any sense to keep evolving the AEGs with new electronics and cool features and keep those less efficient tamiya connectors ! What do you think about that? Thank you 🙏

    • @zatoby6705
      @zatoby6705 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think because it is cheaper and tamiya connectors are still very prevalent in the industry. I have noticed that the industry is slowly shifting towards deans connectors. A lot of the newer higher-end entry level AEGs come with deans connectors.

    Hey Jonathan, what about using crimp-on but connectors to splice in the Dean's connector, rather than soldering?

    • @acesoftrul3z
      @acesoftrul3z 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +WhoWouldWantThisName Don't use them. They're used by ricers in the automotive world and can easily short out because they actually have exposed contacts plus they themselves have a large amount of resistance in them so it'd be counter productive to crimp on deans connectors. Soldering is very easy, it's very hard to screw anything up unless you put the iron on paper or cardboard or something and start a fire

    I have full sized JG T3 K3 and want to convert it to a shorty G3, however I can't find the replacement parts (cocking tube, outer barrel, and hand guard). So I was wondering if MP5 parts would work instead?

    very good video of describing diffrence between these 2 conectors. When I changed my gearbox and motor for one with stronger spring my tamya connector just burned out. I ran it with 9.6V battery. Do you think its because of that high resistance of tamya connector?

      Tamiya connectors are garbage, that's why, they have a very small contact surface and are made of very thin metal, not sure if it's copper even. Deans or XT60 would be a significant upgrade.

    Heres a question.... how do I tell if I can upgrade the externals of my gun? I want to put magpul MOE stock, handguards, and pistol grip on my JG m4 basic.

    hey john,
    i own the KWA cqr mod 1. the range is crap (it can prob hit the same spot multiple times (accuracy wise) up to 100 feet then the bbs just fall out of the air). i want to upgrade the bucking and if i have to the barrel (i also sooner or later will switch out the air cylinder to the regular 2gx cylinder) what bucking/ bucking barrel combo would you suggest (ive heard that the G&G green bucking is good) also any other mods that might be useful to it (im running a 11.1 15c 1400mah lipo and a backup 11.1 20c 1600mah lipo)

    Getting hit on mosquito bites hurt. It's also annoying because I don't know which bump to scratch xD
