Yes, as a fellow Canadian, Lesley was so very cool in his acting, and the reimflating the autopilot scene in 33⅓ was the most hilarious seen in any of his movies🤣🤣
It always makes me laugh when he says every passenger that ate the fish is getting violently sick and the pilot looks at the full fish skeleton on his plate to accentuate the fact that he did indeed also have the fish. Such a small gag but so funny.
Anyone else realized that the plane somehow descended a thousand feet in 2 seconds, yet it didn't affect anyone on the plane in any way? Maybe that was an intentional gag.
Little known fact: Comedian Freddy Lewis would openly talk about his love of this scene on first dates. There was never a second date. xoxo The Clarences
Actually at 3:59, Otto is not really nodding, he is clenching his abdomen which makes his head bob down and then bob up when he unclenches... they should have showed him with the "Big O" face... but you KNOW what is really happening at that final moment... you can hear a squirt. Also, listen to the chimes get more "intense" as he deploys his final thrust.
Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
This one goes to 11
@@JamesSmith-pm4wz 8, only because they cut it a couple seconds too short. She gave him a lustful look after taking a puff on that cigarette.

entire movie is billions and billions of stars in the sky
The auto pilot is my new favorite characters. Especially when he has the cigarette at the end
Wow, I haven’t gotten past the she … more to unpack 🤠🙃
This, and the head nod where she´s blowing, the smiling and last he the change his eye´s 😆when smoking. A DOLL 🤣
In the transcript, it's Otto Pilot. 😁
@buddyaustin7232 Ha! I didn't know that! 😁

I actually fell out of my theater seat from laughing so hard at the auto pilot being re-inflated.
It must’ve been insane seeing this at the theater back in 1980.
I laughed too.
Yes, as a fellow Canadian, Lesley was so very cool in his acting, and the reimflating the autopilot scene in 33⅓ was the most hilarious seen in any of his movies🤣🤣
As an eight year-old, this was all I knew about autopilots. It took me a few years to find out this wasn't as autopilots really work.
You ever seen a grown man naked?
Giggity!
It’s not?
@@Geronimo1985 🤔🤓😂🤣🤪
when I was 8 I was like cool! and my parents were laughing at a different joke
Otto's smile makes me lose it like crazy! 🤣🤣🤣
you had to do it you had to blow the auto pilot😂😂😂
I love how this is a jet plane, but makes a sound of a propeller one 😂
One of the best gags in this movie and its saying a lot
well I like how her boobs jiggle with the Jello🤣
Well sometimes jet planes can sound like propeller planes if fast enough
@@TinPanMan_REAL ok no more drugs for you man your brains leaking out of your ears🤮🤮
They wanted to use a propeller plane since this takes place after the Second World War, but for some reason they switched to a newer plane
Not only does it smile, but nods yes, my fave scene from this movie.
I watched this when I was a kid and didn’t understand what was happening. When I asked my dad about it he said “I’ll tell you in 10 years”
So, did he tell you?
Did he?
He showed her instead
Haha good one, but I think you figured that our before he tells you 😅
I think we can all agree that if the auto pilot was personified like this, flying would be a happier experience
If stewardesses looked like and had a helpful attitude like this, too.
ever wonder why a pilot goes to the “restroom” and a flight attendant goes in the cockpit…. yea… its a good time up here!
The face the autopilot makes with that head nod 😂😂
it ads that extra little bit of pin ash to the scene👌
Otto was the best actor in the movie. Loved the ending when he took off again.
With his inflatable girldfriend... LMAO
With the gear up
1:07 "Turn on the automatic pilot" Let's take a moment to remember Captain Oveur's final act of heroism.
Watching this movie is like an intense workout, it will give you a six pack just from laughing
That movie made me laugh so hard when it came out my abs were hurting after it was over...
I laughed so hard I gained abs by the end of the movie.
Then you put ice on it
😂😂😂😂
It was torture cos I had a fractured rib or two from a fall .
Airplane should be re-released into theaters. It would do well and I would certainly go see it again!
In Australia it was called Flying High . Then Americans called Mad Max.... The Road Warrior .
Yeah… although it wouldn’t be a PG this time round! 😊
@@philip5940_Mad Max_ is a better title anyway.

The auto pilot deflatted himself on purpose😂
It all makes sense now
That’s why he was looking at her lol 😂 😊
Otto’s face expression when she blow in his tube is hilarious!

I still envy Otto to this day.

Fun fact: The soundtrack piece that plays when Otto is being re-inflated is called "Thar She Blows!"
Classic. Simply a classic
Exactly👌👌
4:12 Auto pilot got smoke too😂
4:04 wow, never realized that Otto is, well, “releasing” at this point…
Sometimes, you just want to be an autopilot being inflated..
Man, how you couldn't even think about making this today 😂😂😂
Oh, she “blew” the autopilot all right!
Otto the best co-star ever.
The best part is when Automatic Pilot starts smiling and nodding up and down 😂😂😂
At 4:05 you can hear something like he is climaxing. Omg I never heard that. 😂😂
12. The look on Dr. Rumack's face was priceless.
3:57 WDF did I just saw ??!!!
LoL true
That, or Blazing Saddles ? Tough. Golden age of comedies.
Blazing Saddles sucks compared
Peter Graves isn't getting enough credit for his acting in Airplane! :)
The Otto pilot was constructed in our living room when we lived in San Diego, CA. They changed the movie ending because of OTTO.
One of the all time best sight gags in movie history.
Best sound gags is that the obvious jet plane sounds like it's a propeller driven one
You had me at 0:05.
Funniest movie ever. Sooo clever.
Otto; my man!!!!! He "copped-a-feel" on Elaine (Julie Hagerty). Luv it.
4:02 damn the automatic pilot is very happy indeed😂😂😂😂😂
You have to really appreciate Otto and Elaine for actually helping the first syllable of cockpit live up to its name.

The Jell-O jiggled and so did the girl
Otto was very pleased, good on you pilot!
