Everything depends on the price point! That makes a large difference in "quiet" and "hunting" bow tech! Oherwise, a very accurate description of the bow!
I just got a 35# version of this bow (branded Toparchery) a couple weeks ago. It was $79 shipped to my door in 24 hours. Best deal going in short, compact takedown recurve bows, IMHO. Works great with Easton Platinum Plus XX75 arrows spined 1616.
NUSensei From one teacher to another, thank you so much! I would be remiss to not say thank you also for what you've accomplished for the TH-cam archery community. Well done, my friend!
Hrm, the Limbs are out of canadian maple on your Bow? How do you know that? I got my Phantom Today and it is obviously Bamboo... when i look from the side onto the limbs of my mandarin duck phantom, there is not this big black part like at yours... it is complete wood-colored and a 1-2mm black fiberglass on it. I think they changed it over the last year from canadian maple to chinese bamboo :/ ... i dont know what is more durable. But i wanted the canadian wood... :/ no luck for me...
I ordered one about a month ago and it’s only just arrived at Stansted customs lol probably 2-3 more days till it arrives. But I also ordered some Carbon arrows and they are taking even longer. They’re still in China 😡 this is my very first bow n
Great video bro . I recently restrung my compound , Dacron string purchased online . it does stretch a bit , I had to add some twist to it to get it the correct length . unfortunately with cheap strings the company that makes them doesn't prestretch the string .
Well, I'm not entirely confident in estimating recurve speeds, but at I can tell you that it'll won't be over 200FPS. :) If I had to guess, I would say somewhere between 145-165 FPS depending on the poundage of the bow and if you're shooting at a true 28" draw.
why didnt you put the arrow rest that comes with the bow?thats one of the reasons im thinking about getting this over the black hunter..and theres a silencing kit out for the phantom now.was thinking thats maybe why the arrows dont fly right or maybe thats why they package the bow with an arrow rest now?.thoughts.
Arrow rest, that comes is shit, I fitted a whisker biscuit on mine, will take ALL compound bow accessories, sights, brush or biscuit, hollow, true Glo, extra weights, man kung quiver etc
I have the Junxing version of this bow in 40lbs, and l also had problems shooting of the shelf. So l fitted a plunger and flipper rest and wow this became a different bow. l shoot 700 spine 9/32" carbon arrows-feather fetched on 3D targets and the arrows fly great and leave the bow like rockets. Give it a go!!
You certainly don't have to spend a lot of money on a traditional recurve bow! I have two Lawano 45lb bows that are AWESOME!!!! Got from Amazon for $64 each.
buying my first ever bow today and i am really looking at this bow my only question is would you say this is a good bow for a beginner to start out with?
Seen other reports that have been good and fair , yes they are cheap to buy, you can place silencers on the string and any where else where needed and place a reasonable arrow rest on the bow. Other wise the price is good for what you get . I feel you may have already made your mind up over this bow because, maybe that it is not a American made. I am Sorry if I read it wrongly but that is how received your review. why don't you show some of your target shooting with proper weighted arrows and using with and without a rest, then we can see what you are pointing out . The problem with a lot of chines arrows , they are to light for certain poundage , and I feel this was your problem and shoot just off the shelf can take a while getting use to . get a proper arrow rest their should be no problems. I shoot my 50 lb 1970's solid fibreglass bow just of the shelf, tbh their is no shelf, with no problems but then I had to get use to it because their was no place at the time so I could have a an arrow rest and I know what can happen if an arrow is to light and what it can do to your hand . I hope you give this another bow another go , it is fun get shooting instinctively , but each bow is different and it takes a little time getting use to it.
Just joined group. I've been thinking about getting one of these for my GF. She's LH and I'm RH. She's 5' 0" and I'm 6' 2". I figure she can use it traditionally, and I can use it like a long Mongolian horse bow with the thumb instead of the three finger technique. That way we can both have some fun with it.
I don't understand your issue with the draw weight. It came to 40 lbs at 28" and you say that it was advertised at 42 lbs at 29" and you have a problem with that? That makes no sense. You didn't even show or say what it came to at 29". You condradicted yourself at least 3 times in this video. It's a 40 lb center shot bow.
You’re without a doubt the most unbiased reviewer on TH-cam. Keep it up!
Haven't really heard someone give an honest review of a bow without being biased or without stating the negatives of a bow. Thank you.

Just got a 45lb one.Absolutely awesome.Been shooting for 30 years, one of the best i have shot.
Did you make any modifications to it?
Would you say it's durable ?
@@Иванпонимаете-г4ш Yes .very
Nice showcase!

I really found this video helpful
BUT you are NOT an AVERAGE JACK, you are a very knowledgeable Jack!
Survival lily made a video on how she made her mandarin duck quite.
She does so well with that
“Silence of the Limbs”
Put some soft cotton or something like that in limb pocket.. It will be much silent.
You mentioned in another video that you had a 31" draw. Where you able to draw this short recurve that far without any problems ? thanks
I'm more of a compound shooter myself. And if I were to try more traditional style I think I'd go with a southwest archery bow like the spyder.

Being a shorter recurve, don't you feel stacking?
I am not one to really know if it's stacking or not. Trad archery isn't my usual cup of tea.

Made a bowfishing video using this bow. I really like this bow, forget all that expensive ILF stuff. This was $100 and its a workhorse.
Mandarin Phantom does come in 45 and 50 pounds.

Could you make a guess about arrow speeds if the arrow is about 500 grains? Shot from a 40 or 50 lb phantom (at 28 inch draw).

@@pathucker6652 Stick on rest works better.
Can a three pin sight be added to this bow, Average Jack?
Yes it can have both standard compound style sights and rests installed

philprint Thanks for the tip!
Just for info, the Junxing version is the F179 model. ;)

Lilly show u how to damper the sound 😀
Looks sleek!
Damn good review man!
Are you using a rest or no?
Does it fire to the right?
No
You will have to fit your arrows to whatever bow you have.
Is this a good beginner bow?
Don't see why not!!!
I have created a Facebook group for this Phantom bow, please join and share your experience there!

I was looking at that bow, but since it comes from China I will consider the Bear or Ben Pearson brand instead if theirs are American made.
my bow broke the lower limb. 50 lb.
Do you know why? I just order the same bow 50lb now I kinda regret it

just wondering, is ordering from Mandarin Duck safe? has anyone in the comments ever ordered from them?
Idk why but this guy reminds me of Stephen from Vampire Diaries lol
