I`m working in let`s say chemistry. And when last sanctions turned on and lots of giants like Chevron and BP stopped working in Russia we had some problems with components and ready products but within a year russian companies started producing lots of needed components or buying them in China for cheaper prices. So now we are making same things cheaper and sometimes better than we did that in cooperation with western companies before. And yes we had lots of problems at the start but in the long period of time all I can say - THANK YOU FOR THOSE SANCTIONS! They`ve taught us not to be lazy and not to count on anyone!
Haha, sounds like you guys turned a challenge into an opportunity - that's the spirit! It's impressive how creativity and resilience can lead to even better outcomes. Way to go indeed! And who knew sanctions could be such a motivator, right? 😄
Try using Lada parts not made by Renault. Absolute bullshit. You need to change the regular change supllies from Russian 3 times more often. And Renault is no premium brand.
I found this channel while arguing with friend that the sanctions are a smoke bomb and Russia will make a work around. USSR and Lada were my examples and now Dobriy Kola. Awesome work on all videos! It’s good to be able to see the life in Russia from alternative sources, since in 2024 mass media is so “free” it’s unwatchable.
Lada cannot produce the promised white cars for the widows of Putler's goons that faced resistance in invading Ukraine. Actually Lada produced no cars after stealing Renault factory. Russia impirted almost 1 million cars from China.
Russia is under 17,500 sanctions but in 2023 it was the world's 6th-largest country by Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) according to IMF. Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the third quarter of 2023 was at 5.5% compared with the same period last year. Russia External Debt reached $322.3 billion USD in Sep 2023, compared with $339.3 billion USD in the previous quarter. Sanctions? LOL!
@@Wirmish yet buying cars or auto parts or chips or computers or smartphones it's on the nominal (plus contraband fee). Russia has a huge territory and also a lot of resources. Plus a lot of population. On the nominal GDP per capita scale, Russia is way below any NATO country. It is laughable to think your own country will promote another one ahead of itself. And umagine marketing, well it is not as good as, but give it a try
In London Starbucks is one of the worst coffee shops. Their cakes are awful. Their coffee is not good, always too much sugar, always too many chemicals and always overpriced. Very few Londoners would want to drink coffee from Starbucks. They are shutting down many of their coffee shops because nobody wants to buy their products in London and there are many other better coffee shops.

I live an hour from Canada's capitol city. When Canada stopped buying and selling Baltika I quit drinking all together- never drank anything but beer and without their beer I wouldn't bother at all. Long live and god bless Mother Russia!
Yup. The western companies did all the hard work of performing market research, then creating the products and services desired and needed by consumers. Russia didn’t need to do anything but continue with the plans set by others. No brainpower needed.
Никогда не нравилось кофе в старбаксе. Там пьют кофе люди, которые вообще ничего не понимают в кофе. Пережаренный, кислый - горький. Тот же Правда кофе в разы лучше.

Brilliant video! I always look forward to your uploads - wish they were more frequent! But the high quality of the content, and exclusive exposures shows just how long it takes to make these videos! I am thrilled for Russian 🇷🇺 business men/women who are making the most of the opportunity! What I am taking away from this, is that the presence of western brands and companies actually hindered Russian entrepreneurship and innovation, and squeezed out Russian businesses! The guy who now owns stars coffee for example, he is now able to add a Russian twist to the brand, and he is doing so competently and competitively! Same with the dairy 🥛 products! I am proud of Russia 🇷🇺 for not sulking, but rather smart Russians have made the most! Hopefully more content coming soon! Keep it up mate! Slava russia 🇷🇺

I agree Comrade. I wouldn't brag about the quality of a fast food chain as s marker of how good life is in a particular country. No doubting parts of Russia are beautiful. terrible terrible tasting "coffee". Just buy Brazilian beans and make the real coffee in your own homes people. I bet is cheaper and more tasty this way.
@@Kiyoone It is for people that only like the "idea" of drinking coffee (while never have tasted any proper) while actually seeking pure sirup. The more sugar a drink there has - the more popular it is.
@@Kiyoone I remember years ago when I had my first Starbucks coffee. My city didn't have one but I heard all the hype of how great Starbucks coffee was. I got my first chance at the airport in Detroit Mi while flying to Arizona. I saw a Starbucks there and stood in line eager to taste how good it would be. At the counter I told the girl I'd like a large coffee. She asked me how I wanted it. Just black I said (as that's how I always drink coffee). She gave me a very strange look and asked if I was sure? Yes, just black. II got my coffee and found a seat and eagerly took a sip. It was terrible! Bitter beyond belief. I think used motor oil would have been better. I took another sip and it was the same. I got up, found a trash bin and tossed it. I told people about my experience and they all said you have to add syrups and flavorings to make it good. I like coffee. not syrups and flavorings. I've never been to a Starbucks again.
You can get a full dinner in a nice restaurant for 4 bucks in St Petersburg so just like back home in California where I left 24 years go to settle in St Petersburg, Starbuck was expensive back then. But I have never has a cup of coffee in my life, and never drank beer before moving here, and liked Baltika 3 but later found the wide varieties of craft beer interesting. Overall food products are better because they do not allow all the chemicals or GMO and as you could see on any street, Russians are more fit and attractive in style and grooming. Sasha was definitely Russian even if she lived in the US. The video was really well done, pro level production, with a real script that was researched. Another adjustment was the western brand name clothes, made in Asia, have been replaced with Russian brands, probably produced in the same SEA factories. Overall the sanctions have been good for Russia and getting away over priced undervalued products.Bigger items like refrigerators and washing machines are produced here with a wide range of local brands. I replace the old stove, washing machine, hot water heater, and most recently the old small refrigerator that is much large with great features, 545 Liter volume (even calls me on my phone if someone left one of the doors ajar,) There are hundred of reasons why living in Russia is really nice, and I could never live in the US again due to becoming used to safe street, everyone being friendly and zero stress, 1000x the access to culture, the beauty of the city, and how nice everyone is. Each of my 5 short trips by to California reminds me why I left. The division, poverty, anger, hostility between all 1000 or more faction ad 67 genders, aggressive police, extreme cost of living for poor quality, the public behavior of people wokism, political corruption and how every media form and every corporation and every government official lies about everything to the public
Foreign companies in Russia that want factories to stop and not being used in an attempt to destroy Russian economy, should not be respected. Even if Russians in general respect the law, in this case i think they should think about how to move their own country forward before they respect those who seek to destroy their country. Starbucks is by the way the worst coffee i ever have tasted, i know marketing is effective, but it is still a mystery to me how Starbucks ever got popular.
I wish I could do as you say, but it's like shooting myself in the foot. as soon as you start acting in this way, selecting other people's enterprises, it will immediately be seen by other companies that are afraid to invest in Russia after such a thing.that 's exactly why the Americans can 't figure out how to legally steal frozen Russian 300 billion $ , which are now frozen in banks in the United States and Europe .
I remember that Yugoslavia had its own brands already first as the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (kingdom of Serbia) and later Yugoslavia after 1945. We had everything and produced everything plus all the brands were big with good quality and good food taste. Then came what came from them which always creates chaos and separatism. Unfortunately, sanctions took hard on little Serbia so all our factories were more or less closed or bought by the west, our brands bought the west cheaply, now they own the market but it doesn't end there. They buy our clean spring water and our agro land. otherwise the west only has name(brand) everything inside comes from outside. But Russia has the capacity and most show its citizens that the grass is not greener on the other side
Really sorry to hear about the tough times Serbia's been through. It's tough when local brands and resources get overshadowed like that. I've always been fascinated by Serbia's history and people. Hope to experience it myself one day. Thanks for sharing that, it's eye-opening. Stay strong!

These danish flop destroyed Baltika! I am a foreigner and I used to be a Baltika fan till 1999-2000 ... max! The density is a critical parameter. A BIG ONE! Along with the wheat ending taste! That's all gone! I switched to other brands but all russian beer collapsed in mediocracy with the time! Zhighuli still resists! Hope they get their taste and quality back in track! Exporting!
I would like you to take into account that in addition to the Baltic , there are also numerous factories that produce very good products. Including in different parts of the country. I can also say that Karlberg, like the Baltic spoiled by him, is drunk by people who are, let's say, not very well-off. The rest prefer to add 10 rubles and buy the "Old Miller" or the products of the Volkovskaya brewery.
Russia is winning hands down! What bothers the West the most is that the weren't able to ruin Russia's economy or weaken its military. Russia's economy grew over 3% in 2023 according to the IMF, while that of countries like Germany and the UK did not. The sanctions have turned out to be a huge failure.

The "sanctions" were in fact a great gift to Russia. It helped limit the control of the country from increasingly insane western corporations (at least to some extent). "Sanctions" are an absolutely necessary step to regain sovereignty. I hope my country comes under similar Western sanctions 😅 We are a small country, but before 1989 we managed to be one of the world's most successful exporters. We had no debts (other countries owed us on the contrary), we could produce almost everything. But after 1989, huge corporate sharks came from the West and smaller companies didn't stand a chance. Today we are basically a Western colony, we have lost everything except our houses (and even that is being worked on now - the current puppet government is deliberately making such monstrous debts that we will soon lose the whole country). I want sanctions and blockades too! 😅
Russian brands should go big to Islamic countries when they could do so. Most muslims are avoiding US and Western brands due to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Yes, Russia is the only major power in Europe not puppet of US, so it don't regard HAMAS and Hesbollah as terrorists. But it only now turns to Islamic world, while native Muslims of Russia and political experts were long advising Russian authorities to do so as it would strengthen geopolitical and economic power of Russia. Muslim countries as well see Russia as not Satanist country (LGBT, radical feminism, etc.) and reliable partner (Russia didn't stop to support Syria for 12 years of war until it finally won it and got recognised by other Arabs) while US always abandon, betray or exploits its allies when it fits Americans

When Lidl brought Milbona, people were paranoid that it was not from Finland and if it was not, it might not be as good. Lidl relented and stopped selling those under the Milbona-brand. As a result, the money as royalty for the brand goes abroad, and also the taxable base is reduced by the amount of royalty. Taxes can be paid less. Profit!!! So when the guys from Carlsberg tell me how "white and fluffy" they are and how evil Russians have "bumped them off", it makes me laugh!!! Whoever shouts "hold the thief" the most is the thief!
One fellow business consultant explained to me why each item in IKEA has such an ugly and crazy name. It is more convenient to register each name as trademark. Voila - trademark royalties for any stool or bed or scarf or any other item sold go to - gess where - Luxemburg! Where sits the sompany owning those trademarks. Every challenge is an opportunity! If people want to take up the challenge they will succeed! If not then its a problem. To me goverment should help the local companies e.g. low or no interest rates, cooperation with universities...etc I think Russians should be able to manage it as they managed the food imports turning from importer to net exporter trippling the food export from 13B $ in 2013 to 45B $ in 2024 ! I think They can do the same with other products as well if they focus !
The problem is the climate. Due to purely climatic reasons, as well as high costs for the required quality, it will not be possible to physically create wine in Russia like in France or cheese like in Switzerland. Everywhere will have its own taste of the final product, dictated by some factors.
@@Cergiossik no problems , life will not end if someone doesn't drink french wines or eats swiss cheese , there alot of alternatives out there including the local suppliers by the time they will learn and do similar if possible or create their own , people should learn from US , they don't have the best wine or the best cheese but still they promote it !

I replace the old stove, washing machine, hot water heater, and most recently the old small refrigerator that is much large with great features, 545 Liter volume (even calls me on my phone if someone left one of the doors ajar,)
There are hundred of reasons why living in Russia is really nice, and I could never live in the US again due to becoming used to safe street, everyone being friendly and zero stress, 1000x the access to culture, the beauty of the city, and how nice everyone is.

@@sesshemaro That is a good point.
Americans are used to atrocious coffee. So Starbucks was actually less awful.
It’s a mystery to me how they make any money in Europe, though.

Guys, there are thousands of varieties of cheese in Russia, the same amount of processed cheese and everything else! The choice of any products in Russia is much larger, than in the West! This is a fact! It's doubly funny to me, because I don't eat Valio cheese, Starbucks (I don't drink coffee or eat fast food at all), or beer, especially Tuborg. Not even Coca-Cola, and soda in general! It's harmful! And that's why it's just funny to me how they run around with these strange brands and products in the West! In Russia, in most cases, we do not use it at all! For the simple reason that we have much better local products! Is that clear to you at least?... They say that the best toilet cleaner is Coca-Cola. I don't know, I use another one made in Russia. I only regret that McDonald's was not removed at all, but simply renamed, it's a pity, it was a chance to get rid of this terrible dream of nutritionists - American fast food. It was necessary to replace American fast food, harmful in its essence (the combination of white bread with a cutlet is nonsense) with Russian fast food at least - for dumplings, pancakes, pies, cabbage rolls and more! Haha about the Valio/Viola thing. Same thing happened in Finland when Lidl arrived. They had milk in the store under their own brand but no one bough those. Even though they were made by Valio and Arla. The package was just different 😂
Honestly, I wonder how many companies have a buyback clause in some undisclosed section and on very fine print of the sales documents.
@@Valokaari Milk is milk, I myself couldn't care less about what company or supermarket I buy it in. Or how the package looks.
What's wrong with people, or what's wrong with me? :D
@MegaSockenschuss People are slaves to their habits and sometimes those are very conservative. One thing Finns liked was milk from Valio or Arla. That meant it was from Finland. When Lidl brought Milbona, people were paranoid that it was not from Finland and if it was not, it might not be as good.
Lidl relented and stopped selling those under the Milbona-brand. Now the milk they sell under that brand is sourced from smaller Finnish dairy farms directly.
@@Valokaari Aah, I thought what Lidl did in the end was somewhat a standard already in Finland.
Here in Germany it seems like most milk brands (or their sub brands in the discounters) even advertise on the package/bottle that the milk is made and sourced in the region.
And if not, it's written on the package/bottle somewhere where it's made.

Living near Moscow, since Dominos, McDonalds, Coca-Cola and the rest of them left I've became much thiner and I feel great.
Carlsberg was removing Russian brands and replacing them with its own for the sake of increasing profits by reducing tax payments. It was a tricky move. For the use of the brand it was necessary to pay royalties to the owner of the brand located abroad. And the owner of the brand legally is not Carlsberg at all. But by a strange coincidence )))) both the brand owner and the factory are ultimately owned by the same people.
