pretty sad that they city planners did not account for a possible 100 year event for an amount of rainfall that is typical of a normal rainy season in many parts of the world.
It wasn't a 100 year event. It was geo engineering .
@@jayne2648 this has nothing to do with cloud seeding it would be impossible to get that much water to fall with such practices plus other cities flooded that don't cloud seed. The reason the flood happened is because these cities have almost no drainage system to deal with higher volumes of rain since it is such a rare event. The amount of rain they received is not even more than the average for other parts of the world and those places handle it just fine. this is just poor planning even in my area where we do get lots of rain our infrastructure is overbuilt to handle one in 50 year events but we still flood in parts if we get once in a century events.

@@dulguunjargal1199 at the extreme of your example of course not but they said this happened 75 years ago. And many places will plan the infrastructure to minimize the damage from such a rare event. This was a gamble and well this is what happened.

Dubai doest have drainage system, so the flood doesn't flow out and there 's no drainage hole...
if there was a sewerage system it maybe blocked when the dust storms comes in. this is a big challenge that Dubai must face.
@@bertdejesus3578Nope thats no big deal in older streets and citys here in Germany we still have combined sewage and stormwater pipes. They couldnt be blocked by dust.
So where is the lower ground? Without lower ground for run off, you need it to go somewhere to be pumped.

@@lizh1988 No we dont have much dust, the reason for combined sewage and stormwater pipes is that parts of that infrastructure are over 100 years old and where build before sewage treatment was a common practice.
But this system would still work to prevent clogging from dust.

It's not because of Cloud seeding. This is due to the absence of functional drainage systems in Dubai, which is the result of the scarcity in water supply.
