You didn’t get it, do you? This is about a car with a separate electric motor for each wheel. Torque vectoring and drive dynamics which are not possible with an ICE. 🤫
A separate *motor*, not engine. And even if it’s more capable in certain ways, it’s less capable in others while also making sacrifices in total driving experience; sacrifices which are unacceptable for enthusiasts.
@@jeemo The Motor is the Engine xD also this allowes way more controll resulting in a better driving exp. but maybe you can explain me the downsides of being able to power all 4 wheels individuality. Right now youre just crying because it uses Electricity instead of Gasoline Fuel.

An all electric 4 motor BMW M car may just restore my view on EV performance cars, if it can DC fast charge at 350+kw, and has a range of 450+ or more in range, especially if they solve the battery life degradation that most EV have, then and only then BMW has a huge win up in their sleeve in EV performance cars, but until then keep on making M performance cars with inline 6 and v8 engine, and put more R&D into alternative fuel.

Really excited to see what BMW do with this! There are TWO actual "problems" with BEV sports cars, mass and emotives, and both are, IMO, eminently solvable. The Ionic5N shows that it's possible to make a EV emotive, and it's very early days for these ideas Battery specific energy density is, unilke the ICE, nowhere near fully developed. Fundametaly there is a 9x improvement in specific energy density (energy per unit mass) still left on the table. No, today we are only just understanding how to practically realise some of that fundamental capability, but we understand the science, and the sector is moving fast. Even with a 30% increasse in "installed" energy density a BEV gets to mass parity with an ICE, with anything greater it exceeds an ICE! And that's just a 1.33x improvement out of a possible 9x BMW understand this, the future is still in the future sure, but if you stand still and resist change at some point, you're a dinosaur..........
Now you can see that every car manufacturer is owned by the same people, by the same organizations. Everybody is going into the same direction, but on different roads.
Loved my F82 Comp and loving my current G80 Comp Xdrive. Not looking for a soulless electric. I am sure it will perform like a refrigerator performs, soulless.
@@diogoleitao8628 Got me, I do. Just joking. However, while added weight is a negative, it doesn't necessarily mean that driving experience has to suffer. But it does mean that you need more powerful motors, bigger brakes and tires to compensate for the added weight. On the other hand, the lowered center of gravity on electric cars makes them so much more enjoyable in cornering. At least that was my experience when I switched from a BMW M50d to an electric car (with more power).

The M5 is actually an awesome car, everyone who were able to drive it liked it and everyone said they didnt felt the weight, the thing people that are unable to buy the car complain about.

HeyBMW: 1. Don't replace ICE. They're really good 2. If (IF) you have to electrify your ICE (hybrids), try to not exceed 150kg in additional mass. 3. Stop dramatically changing your car designs. Not everything needs to be accessed through the infotainment. We need our eyes on the road. Thank you
Surely, if all ’normal’ commuter cars were electric we’d be able to keep M, AMG, RS’s and Ferrari V12’s with their beautiful symphony? Imagine a new S85 or M156 engine coming out today..
I vividly remember when the 1M Coupe came out how people were complaining about it being turbocharged. Little did they know... I have been an Ⓜ️3 driver for years and I sincerely appreciate the R&D that goes into making them great day 1! Especially in days of integrating electrification on an extreme level...thanks 🙏🏽💪🏽
+@EuroAutoEnthusiast the M3 is a glorious drive
As they say in German "nein, danke!"
And I've driven Model S Plaid and Taycan Turbo, whilst they are both very fast, they are as exciting as a fridge. Completely devout of soul and emotion.
End times boys, been fun while it lasted
If no one buys it, then it won’t be the end times. Money talks
I really wish they made it another car or a different version of the m3 where u can buy full electric or combustion. But 4 electric motors is really cool, would love to see a performance model that can give a Tesla plaid a run for its money
Can't help but assume that most people fan boying this video have never owned a M car, probably hoping that BMW notice them and give them a discount for being white knights so they can have a shot at owning one in the future.
I own a G87, and as much as I sympathise with the plight of the planet, I won't do my part until the larger polluters make their sacrifices. Me moving to an EV is like swatting a mosqito with the aim of erradicating all mosqitos globally. And don't give me the "yea well if everyone did it" nonsense line, because most countries aren't even close to being equipped with a suitable charging network to support that. I'm not buying an EV and making my own life less convenient, I'm not making sacrifices when you've got private jets flying influencers around who don't do anything of any value, you've got polluting industrial units manufacturing absolute garbage that nobody needs, the likes of Tiktok shop selling plastic throw-away bollox products to make someone rich that'll guaranteed be in landfill within a few months, so I'll keep my petrol M for as long as I can until I start seeing change happen from the top.
And what about if ever human on the planet swats a mosquito? 🙂
That, is how we fix our problems, and EVs are the start of that fix.....
exactly…
and mostly people who love EV have never experienced the mechanical power of ICE, yet they buy those cars only thanks to funds from local government. EV are the most polluted in production and waste recycling. Why use the Hydrogen or Methanol instead? Cause their will be very cheap in maintenance and daily use but still trying to convince customers to eco-friendly pseudo solutions only to take money from taxpayers and feed the global pseudo eco agenda…
07:15 : bro is bringing all the 80s he could find at home to infuse the program with heritage.
Let's get a petition to fire the person in charge of this. #BringBackTheV8s #RIPElectricCars
Time to start thinking about the future. Learn to embrace it like going from NA to turbos. Anyone seen a buggy lately?
It's exciting to watch you guys while that process. i hope it takes not too long until we can see the next episode of that.
An all electric 4 motor BMW M car may just restore my view on EV performance cars, if it can DC fast charge at 350+kw, and has a range of 450+ or more in range, especially if they solve the battery life degradation that most EV have, then and only then BMW has a huge win up in their sleeve in EV performance cars, but until then keep on making M performance cars with inline 6 and v8 engine, and put more R&D into alternative fuel.
damn, need to watch the full season of "Game of Torques"
Cool, the technology is moving forward very fast, anyway, I'm very curious about the next gen 3 series and the next gen m3
🤫 It will be electric. ⚡️ 🔋
@@avigator No, gasoline model's will continue. EV variants will be offered alongside.
EDIT:Please read the replies to this thread carefully, this guy has no idea who torque vectoring systems work.
@@TheWeavingBagel Nobody will buy an outdated gasoline variant, after they have experienced the drive dynamics of real torque vectoring.
@@avigator Doesn't seem to matter to people.(on the gasoline vs ev sound). Stop talking like torque vectoring is an EV exclusive, it's not. The rs6 and panamera gts have wonderful toque vectoring systems. It can exist on gas powered cars. The C63s has sold poorly compared to the current M3. People will still buy gasoline variants, to the point where mercedes is bringing back the V8 In the cle. There is a reason why BMWi is still develope gas powered G50s and G84s.
@@TheWeavingBagel To fully exploit real-time torque vectoring you need a separate independent drive for each wheel. Per se this is not possible with a single combustion engine.
Hello M division engineering. Keep chasing quality guys. Cuz we are ( M enthusiast) guys out here. We love BMW for drifting also. But electric M edition is totally out of race track yet. But let’s see what is going to be there. Also don’t forget affordable for us ( enthusiasts). So we can compete with super cars. We ❤ hard work. Enthusiasts from Las Vegas.
Really excited to see what BMW do with this!
There are TWO actual "problems" with BEV sports cars, mass and emotives, and both are, IMO, eminently solvable.
The Ionic5N shows that it's possible to make a EV emotive, and it's very early days for these ideas
Battery specific energy density is, unilke the ICE, nowhere near fully developed. And that's just a 1.33x improvement out of a possible 9x
BMW understand this, the future is still in the future sure, but if you stand still and resist change at some point, you're a dinosaur..........
+@maxtorque2277 couldn't have said it better ourselves
Time to make a carbon chassis like i8 and i3 again!
Next Neue Klasse M3 will be offered in both EV and ICE variants
Now you can see that every car manufacturer is owned by the same people, by the same organizations. Everybody is going into the same direction, but on different roads.
Even without videos like this, winning the Nürburgring 24 would prove the excellence of BMW EVs, just like Hyundai's Ioniq N did.
How much does it weigh?
probably less than the new m5
Probably more than a Range Rover Velar.. hopefully less than a Ford Excursion.
I'm suprised with the perfomance.
Wanting and actually doing is two different things.
Loved my F82 Comp and loving my current G80 Comp Xdrive. Not looking for a soulless electric. I am sure it will perform like a refrigerator performs, soulless.
Dear BMW, look what you did for the new M5, seriously if you’ve been kidnapped, just blink your eyes😂
The problem with electric cars is that they are trying to be something they are not.
And this is what...?
@@valuemastery heavy weight
@@diogoleitao8628 They are trying to be heavy weight, but are not?
@@valuemastery You know it too
@@diogoleitao8628 Got me, I do. At least that was my experience when I switched from a BMW M50d to an electric car (with more power).
can BMW make a video including only the accelerating sound?
Ich fahre seit 1991 BMWs. Derzeit besitze ich einen 440i Gc F36 und ich glaube, dass es, sofern keine unvorhergesehenen Umstände eintreten, mein letzter BMW sein wird!
Can't beat the sound of a straight 6 though
Setting new standarts of what? Weight increase?
Oh my god !!!!!!!
Many more upcoming models shown ! ❤❤
Still covered but will be uncovered soon 😏😏
+@adityadayal3662 it only get better from here on
BOOOOOOORIIIIIIIING
I remember watching the ETCC in the 80s with the BMW 635 csi, and later with the 3 series, and the BTCC from 80s to current day, proper racing cars, with fantastic noise, and passion! This electric slot car BMW has all the dynamics and passion and excitement of an electric toaster 😴😴😴🥱🥱🥱
Bring back the F87 inspired design please!
Everyone talking shit about this car for the next 2 years, then when it comes out everyone likes it.
Love it!
+@SimonvonBroich We can't wait to share it!
+@SimonvonBroich it's going to be a good one 💙
The End of BMW
Just like Nissan, dodge
Lol
BMW is the benchmark of auto industry
bruh, the BEV's are just an addition to the M combustion cars
give a product who save energy & real eco friendly...
What about the white e87 in the background ? Reference for the most M ever ?
Good upgrade from i4 m50, let's go BMW
+@iRapplexD glad you enjoyed it, time for another watch?
@ 0:01 beautiful Squarewave frequency note...
Only non car people like ev sports cars, It’s time for BMW to listen to their public! BMW M it’s more than just speed and cornering, It’s about the exhaust note of the best inline 6 cylinder engine in the market, it’s about the turbo whistle that does a 4.4 liter perfectly sounding V8, it’s about the cold starts, it’s about changing gears, it’s about being in a complete stop and listening the beautiful engine sound, turbo intake and pops and bangs. Time to get real M cars before they’re gone forever. 😢
To all petrol heads who desperately want to hold on to the combustion engine: Drive this BMW M car if it is available and you will not miss the lag of the combustion engine and transmission that you were used to. These cars will be insane, hopefully Rimac Nevera like...
Can't wait for it 🤩
+@HansWurstDampf Neither can we!
What is the F87 doing in the background??
The sweater Franciscus van Meel is wearing, is it for sale somewhere?
After the M5 flop...i hope this delivers
😂
The M5 is actually an awesome car, everyone who were able to drive it liked it and everyone said they didnt felt the weight, the thing people that are unable to buy the car complain about.
@@snoks meh, it's too heavy either way. I'm not sure the styling will ultimately attract the average m consumer.
Way to early to call that a flop.
Can we talk about that body roll ?
I'm waiting for 800hp+
True BMW fans buy BMW’s while others complain on TH-cam.😂😂
@7:40 ...one little cable causes such problems? Have fun!
This can happen with every car... I hope car manufactures move on from CAN-Bus to InfiniBand or Ethernet, so much superior allows way more things while being quicker and yes you can have redundancy.
Gonna miss the turbo charged v8 and v6's, a new beginning.
Facts ( Inline 6🤝🏼)
Insane they are sharing this much to the public. Falling in love with the brand every day again. Being a bigger fan of the older cars, still hyped for what the future holds. 🔥🔥
Watching this has changed my entire perspective, BMW always gets it done right.
HeyBMW:
1. Don't replace ICE. They're really good
2. If (IF) you have to electrify your ICE (hybrids), try to not exceed 150kg in additional mass.
3. Stop dramatically changing your car designs. Small to Medium sized grills are ideal and everyone's delight. No weird angles and lines. Give us the sharp shoulder lines and nice grills.
Now were talking about M cars not even having combustion engines anymore at all because BMW, just like pretty much the entire car industry, decided to completely bend over and pick up the soap from hypocritical politicians. EVs aren't going to save the world and everybody with half a brain know that they never were going to be part of the solution in the first place. They were always just supposed to be a placeholder because no one has the balls to adress the real problems.
I hate to say it but I hope they maintain some character not sure how they will do it. They’ve just made their own existing cars classics with this video. Hold on to your N/As!!!!
