Teacher stunned when Secret Santa gives her a car and the entire school gives her a standing ovation

- The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift $500,000 this holiday season! Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and wants to help as many people as he can.
We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.
Bonnie Warne has taught at South Fremont High School for over 30 years. She is always the first one there in the morning and the last one to leave in the evening. She is constantly writing grants to buy books or other materials and she is passionate about helping the children with their education.
Bonnie always puts others before herself. She buys clothes and food for kids in her neighborhood, school supplies for her students that can’t afford to buy their own and at Christmas she gathers donations to buy things like warm coats and gloves for children in need. She will go without before she will allow a child to go without.
Bonnie has been volunteering at the Four Paws Pet Adoptions in Rexburg every Saturday for at least eight years. She sometimes brings her elderly mom when she comes to care for the cats or the neighbor kids that need extra care and attention.
Bonnie’s car is in tough shape. She has had it since 1994 and it is constantly breaking down. The last repairs had her with no vehicle for two weeks. A friend loaned her a car while hers was being repaired so she could get to school and check on her mom.
Secret Santa thought Bonnie would be the perfect person to receive an early Christmas gift. The East Idaho News elves surprised her during a school assembly and her reaction was unforgettable. Watch the video above to see what happened!

Being a school teacher is one of the hardest, most underpaid, most unappreciated professions there is! Many teachers today last only 5 to 7 years. I’m so glad this teacher was recognized!
Thanks for the kind words, and yes, when I was in college, my professor told us about half of all teachers quit within five years, for a number of reasons, many of which you mentioned. Though, from my own experience, one of the biggest factors, that isn't usually talked about, is lack of support/mentoring for new staff. I genuinely feel like that percentage could be drastically cut if programs addressing it were automatically in place, instead of being something you had to seek out yourself. I've made it about 12 years, but while I love what I do, I'd be lying if I said I don't consider walking away on a regular basis. I knew what I was getting into, so no pity party here, but unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily make the rough days any less so.

My mom has been a teacher for over 25, I have no idea how she does it, but she loves her job and her kids, she's even had some come back to surprise her too, with their own kids who she then ends up teaching, it's a truly beautiful thing🥰

She goes above and beyond by constantly seeking out grants and other funding for the school which wont be an easy process. She shouldn't need to do that but she does. Add dealing with troubled kids which would be stressful as well as planning out the years education and making sure the kids get their grades. Doing that for over 30 years would definitely take its toll on her body and mind. No wonder she was sitting down. She deserves it at the very least.

It's a Buick with a 3800 Series Engine, one of the best engines ever made. Its not pretty, but probably it would last more than the Hyundai.

But just imagine if teachers were paid a healthy livable wage (so she could buy her own car) and schools were well founded (so she didn’t feel the need to get that check back to the school). I'm an educator at a public school. I get paid enough, and Im a proponent of banning tenure. We don't need more, the kids do. She knows that, and its why she's being celebrated. The more lucrative teaching becomes, the more people who don't have their heart in it will join the workforce

As i said, it's a hard bet to assume someone's financial situation & doesn't matter if you work for 30+ years or however long you want, maybe that salary has also been used to support her children/family or friends. I don't know in which part of the world you live, but to give you some examples:
1- in my country (& i'm pretty positive this isn't happening only here xD), a LOT of incompetent shits live on their parents savings & retirement paychecks.
2- this one is occurring pretty much everywhere in the world: grown ups getting funded by their parents to make their own company, in some cases making the parents sell their hard earned valuables to keep supporting the failing business.
If you read the message she sent them I wouldn't thing you'd be positive about her being on solid financial grounds. But sure let's assume she's rich as hell & her money is used only on that old car that "flipped over once" & herself.
