This goes to show how important it is to have a good teacher. I remember one of my best teachers ever. She was my first grade teacher, an older nun. She really believed in me and said that she could imagine me winning a major award some day. Also, I was at the top of my class academically that school year. She has since retired and is probably dead now. Wherever she is, I would thank her if I had the opportunity.

My first year of school was also my kindergarten teacher’s first year of teaching. We stayed in touch on and off and she ended up being a teacher of mine in middle school again.. I hadn’t seen her since then, but on a whim I reached out and invited her to my graduation open house. I didn’t hear anything and didn’t really expect to see her there (which was totally fine since I hadn’t seen her in so long). Long story short, her and her daughter came and she told me she wouldn’t have missed it for the world! She gave me a little journal as a gift and when I opened it, she wrote a special note inside for me. I go back and read it often and it always brings tears to my eyes.. As a student, you don’t often realize the special impact you may even have on a teacher❤️

I remember having a really bad time during my last semester of junior year in high school, so much so that I gave up and stopped doing all my school work, stopped studying for tests and was sleeping through all my classes. It followed through the summer so I refused to go to summer school. When I started my senior year my counselor called me in to her office and I already knew there was chance in me graduating. I was mentally prepared for the worst. To my surprise she told me I could still graduate, if I was willing do classes after l school. She told me I would have to do most of the learning myself and be tested after all my assignments were done. I would finish all my classes at my own pace. I took the challenge and stayed after school for both semesters of my senior year! I got As and Bs for my regular senior classes and all As after school. I finished half my junior year and all my senior year in two semester. My counselor hugged me at graduation. I was so proud of myself and greatful for her believing in me.

@@bluestonemetallic7 yeah in 5th grade I had a music teacher who was like 69. I was trying to learn how to play the flute, I studied but just absolutely sucked but I kept trying. Well one day I'm practicing in class and my music teacher spazzes out on my sister and I (she sucked at the flute as well, though eventually we figured out we were good at other instruments) told us we sucked and were horrible and basically we were failures and this is how the rest of our life would go. I cried and carried hatred in my heart for him onward. One day I found out that he died in a motorcycle accident, I didn't really know how to feel but weirdly enough I think I still hate him so many years later. Teachers have a huge influence.

At my elementary school, I had a teacher for three years in a row. My friend and I decided to switch nametags and when the teacher called on my friend, she said my name instead of my friend's. She was literally reading off our nametags after THREE YEARS, and still didn't know our names.

Some people just aren't good at names.
I am terrible at faces and names.
I literally cannot remember actors of movies I've watched tons of times.
You are looking at it the wrong way. If the teacher didn't care who you were, she wouldn't even bother with name tags.
They knew their weakness so asked for nametags that way they could remember who you were.
I've gone to school with people for years and I couldn't remember their names.
Just saying. Not everyone is perfect so don't expect your teachers to be either.

This makes me so emotional, reminding me that teachers are good. And in my school there were teachers who were good. But one teacher literally tore my life apart, she judged me as a bad student ( idk what she exactly thought of me but she always gave me that attitude that I am not even capable to be near her or participate in anything ) even though I worked on my grade , my attendance , my sports, my public speaking skills, my dance and when I graduated I had accomplished a lot in thoes domains . However, she still hated me and did partiality. I don't know why she did that. What was wrong with me . She never told me. I graduated school with that lump of questions, insecurity issues and sled doubt.
This video made me smile . I thought about thoes teachers who helped me. Who are still in touch with me. Who call me if they need my help or I text them when I need their help. Student - teacher bond is so beautiful. Some teachers might bring you down but always look up to thoes who bring you up. It can be another teacher from school, tutor , mother, siblings or any renowned person who inspires you .

My third grade teacher literally didn't teach grammar at all. She just read "story time" and that was it for it.
I went into 4th grade the most confused kid ever as my entire class moved through grammar assignments while I had no clue what any of it meant.
I struggled through middle school and was pretty much failing my English classes.
I graduated high school and didn't even know how to properly use quotation marks.
It was only until I took a remedial class in college that a lot of it started to make sense. I almost wished I could have taken that class another semester.
I still struggle with it constantly, but I think I do okay now. People try to ask me what verbs, adverbs, and other crap I just pretend to known. I have no idea. I have some idea if I think about it long enough, but I couldn't spout it off like I could 5x5 or something.
I was the ONLY kid in my class to not go into the 4th grade with that terrible teacher. She moved up with the rest of the class and I switched out.

A friend of a friend worked in a dead end job too, for several years and she was so unhappy, she decided to go back and do the proper highschool graduation (she only did one of lower quality) and she was 24 at that point. Usually people are 18 when they do that. Now, she is studying German and British law together with my friend and has just married her girlfriend (she's homosexual). The sky looks blue for her.
I admire her for her bravery and also, it's these decisions, these non-linear curricula vitae, that make employees interesting to employers.
They speak of great personal strength, bravery and discipline. My dad employs people in a company and he says that's what he looks for. It's easy to go a way that was paved for you, seemed 'standard', your parents wanted you to etc. But when you go a different way and force your life to become different, it shows that you have great integrity and can move mountains if you want to.
