      @NinjaOrchids Hi Nina. Recovery is slow, and I'm currently facing some setbacks. It feels like one step forward, two steps backwards. I am reminding myself that it's a marathon and not a sprint. It's immensely difficult and painful, but all I can do is try. On a more positive note, it feels like I've figured out how to prevent this particular setback from recurring. Thank you so much for your concern. 🫶

      FFF 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 good morning, meine liebe Freundin! I hope you woke up to a sparkling SUNday 🫶🏼 here? We are going into single digits again, and the toughest time of year has started. I am loosing new growths and about to throw orchids in the bin 😮‍💨 so, I hope you are doing well and feeling as best as possible. Also, I have a question I am dying to ask, but if it is a surprise you are waiting to show in a video, I do not want to know before you show it 😂 IF, my question isn't answered in a video in the coming 4 weeks, I am going to ask you. So, do not say that I should ask, ok? 🤣 thank you so much for watching, amiga mia! Wishing you a wonderful New Year's Eve Eve Day 🤔😆😂🫶🏼❤️🌸

      @NinjaOrchids Hi dear Nina, single dígits here as well, at night. Days are around 16C However it feels warmer because it has been sunny. We have not yet felt the December bite on our faces on sunny days from the cold. Still, not enough to keep Cattleyas and other warm growers outdoors. Question? Hum 🤔 is it about Fred? Sorry to say, despite having produced a larger growth, no blooms. Very disappointing, right? In fact this has been a very disappointing year in many ways. But as I always tell my self as a solace, it is never as bad as it could be 😜 cuando malo nunca peor as the ancient people used to say. Still, I am very grateful to you for sending me Fred, I beleive it is happy because only now leaves are turning yellow. Maybe too happy ? I wonder 🤔
      If your question is about something else, go ahead, pls. I hope you and yours are doing well. I will be attending your live next thursday, see you there. Much love ❤️😘🤗

      awwwhhh!! Yes, it was about Fred 😣 what a shame!! I really thought that this year would be the year that you could at least get one spike, even if not a standard long one. I am so sorry 😘 I hope that nothing goes wrong with the stream tonight! Last night, I was doing something online to prepare and sure enough, at 19:45, the router started to reset and it took 15 minutes to get back to stabilizing. Luckily I was in the streaming software studio, so I saw it happen and then the time ticked and ticked and it was after 20:00 when the router was stable again. So... wooohooo... 🤬 I Hope it is not a 24hr stint and that all goes well tonight... so stressful 😤

    I have A LOT of repotting / mounting to do when my seemingly overly enthusiastic Dendrobiums are thru blooming! Nearly everyday I see a new spike, or as in one case - a double spike! - peeking thru. This has been happening from mid-October, and they haven't stopped - yet! I'm now getting used to the various orchid's blooming seasons. Next up are VMJ's (Mar/Apr) and I'm hoping for the E.Radicans (Apr ?). As usual thanks for sharing your experiences and expertise. Thru your tutorials I managed to save a Vanda Mokara Thanida which is doing excellent. A huge THANK YOU!)

So so excited and happy that this is now happening and your time, love, effort, are rewarding you with constant blooms 🙌🏼🙏🏼 thank YOU for sharing! Thank YOU for your support! Thank YOU for always keeping me updated with what you have going on 🥲🤗 I grow in paradise, vicariously through you because of your comments. All I can say, not that I need to because I can read between the lines, but I will say it anyway.... ENJOY!! 🙏🏼 thank you so much for watching. I hope you are having a sensational day 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    I’ve come to believe that many orchids sold as blooming size and may have blooms on them when purchased have been forced to bloom early, whether it’s hormones and/or light. Once they are home and go back to ‘natural’ conditions it takes quite awhile to get them to actual bloom size.
    Wonderful and informative video.
    💕🌺

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Debbiiieee!! Hi 😍💐 I hope this reply finds you well 🫶🏼 you are absolutely right that many orchids, because they come from perfect conditions, have a 'forced' blooming possibility. Yes! However, in purchasing such orchids, at least one buys time because the orchid is blooming size, and then the years of acclimating and continuing getting the culture right depend on the new owner. I actually prefer orchids that have bloomed or come with buds / blooms! At least I know that I am paying for the size that I want and not have to think if the orchid I received truly is blooming size or a seedling 😬 (*cough trust issues) 😅 thank you so much for watching, lovely lady! I hope your day is going beautifully for you 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    Dear Nina, great blooms video, enjoyed it a lot! Those first time bloomers are a great joy to have. I think you have perfected their care and you should write a book about them (have you thought about that? ).Thanks very much for sharing and have a Happy New year 😊

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      😍Hi Mary 💐 I really appreciate you watching and your kind comment, thank you so much! I have thought about writing a book, and the concept outline is already written in a draft. However, I do not have the time to sit and get it done. But yes, IF one day, I can get started, I will definitely do that. It is a project I would love to dive in to. One thing about me though, is, once I start and get into the flow, I have to keep going, or else I would loose the flow which may reflect in the content of the book. I have to break down everything I want to do in the book, into sections, so that I can work on those without mentally thinking I have to do it all in one go (which is impossible anyway) 😅 maybe if the channel can support my bills, one day, I will designate time to writing as opposed to filming and editing all the time. Vamos a ver! I do appreciate you for bringing this up and thank you so much for your opinion that my thoughts on care for all media, would be something of value in the written word! I appreciate that 🫶🏼 hope you are having a wonderful festive season! Thank you so much for everything in the past years and... have yourself a fabYOUlous 2025 as well! ❤️🌸

    This video could be used as a warning for which orchids take longer to adjust. I've heard that repotting can delay blooming by one year for cattleyas. I'm not sure how that works when most orchids have to repotted every 2-3 years. 🤔
    9:29 I have two cattleya hybrids that have bicolor in their ancestry including the Rlc. Amazing Thailand which is 15% bicolor.
    10:39 The Atrowaller is my favorite because of the shape and color pattern.
    12:49 Oh, this is the one from the Christmas livestream. ☺️

      @NinjaOrchids  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      HI Joe 😍💐 some take a lot longer than others, that is for sure. Even some species are faster and easier to adapt than others. It takes time to understand who does what, and when, and possibly consistently, or not... 🤔😆 and, within the same genus, do the different species coincide with the same growth habit, i.e. vigor 😂 all fun! I was blown away that the bicolor came into bloom this year. Totally was only going to start to be on the lookout in 2025, so that was amazing ⚡️ this video was during the stream, yes! Just a few little tweaks to try and polish it up a little bit, next day, but for the most part, the video was done while streaming. It was fun for me, so... thank you for sticking around for that part 🤗 thank you, also, for watching this video despite having seen it before 🫶🏼 hope you are having a wonderful day ❤️🌸

    Thanks Nina, great video. I do grow about 160 youngsters mostly Cattleyas. They all need repotting within a few months of receiving them and some will sulk and will not be happy for up to a year. I keep moving them around the grow area that's under lights until they find their happy place. The Catts will bloom the 2nd season, some will take 3 years. Such fun to watch them take off and develop like their on steroids when you get their culture just right. Way to go Orchid Master, we'll done. ❤🎉😅😊❤

      🌸🥷🏼Bob San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 good evening from a BRRRR S'ern Spain 🫶🏼 like our human littles, the orchid youngsters do need that extra attention. Especially, when they are your charges because you are so diligent with everything you do. Also, your fertilizing and flushing routine is so excellent that they boom in their growths, hence needing a repot 😃 it is fun to watch them develop, yes, I 100% agree... then, when they do come into bloom for the first time, I always think back to 'how time flies' 😆 thank you so very much for taking time out of your day to watch and leave an encouraging comment 🌸🥷🏼Cariño San!! I appreciate you so much 🫶🏼❤️🌸

      😍Meine Mona 💐 servus schöne Frau! I hope you are having a wonderful Mona Tag 😘 now that I am in a position of not being able to take of orchids that have to be warmer during the winter, I am seriously going to get more ansellias and purpuratas, once the channel pays for the NEEDS bills. I have lost so many orchids in the past years, about to get rid of more at this point in time, so to have these beauties perform in my climate, outdoors, is making me think that I need more of them and purpuratas. Anything that can live outdoors, here 365 days / year, as a matter of fact 😜 thank you so very much for watching, amiga mia!! Have yourself a wonderful rest of your day 😘❤️🌸

    Hi Ms. Ninja Orchids. My Caulocattleya Chantilly Lace spike is getting bigger, and my mini ascocentrum is blooming for it's first time!! Had it 2 years and now Woohoo 🎉 my twinkle is still blooming and my Restrepia has gone nuts with blooms. Hope your weekend has been a peaceful one.. I'm still recuperating from over eating!! I see my primary doctor on Monday, he's not going to be happy with me, but I enjoyed the holidays. On to your next vid..later.....

      🦤🦅😍 Wingman!!! So nice of you to watch this video 🙏🏼 muchas gracias! I needs me to see the blooms on the Chantilly Lace! I have had 2, it was a MUST have orchid for my collections, but unfortunately, I have not had healthy ones to have the opportunity to grow that orchid. Soooo.... pics please 🙏🏼 and congratulations, once again for getting this darling as a pressie 🥳 I have not had a peaceful weekend, but there is nothing I can do to change that atm. Breathe in, breathe out, keeping my head down and try to remain focussed. Having some chest pains and all I want to do is sleep. So, I actually go to bed super early just to be done with a day, in the hopes that the next one will be better. Ce la vie, for me at the moment, mon ami! So, having you here, encouraging and supporting is priceless, thank you! 🙏🏼❤️🌸

    • @NinjaOrchids

      😍Hi!!💐 I love the bicolor... I am wondering if the color is a little too light for what I am supposed to have, the variety brasiliensis, which I did not mention in this video, because I do not want to make that mistake, in case she is the standard from. Vamos a ver, I love the rose gold though. My tenebrosa is supposed to be a variety aurea, so, we shall see what she does next year and if the color is off because of the first time bloom, or because she bloomed so late... many variables going on 😆 still, very pleased to see that the tenebrosa, at least, is able to bloom despite my conditions. Looking forward to hearing when your's bloom, because you can provide them the right conditions all year round. 👍🏼 thank you so very much for watching, lovely lady! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    • @tropicalplantsfinland
      @tropicalplantsfinland 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @ I think we might have to wait a little longer (read 5-7 years). 😄 all are either seedlings or young plants. I have both aurea and the norm form for the tenebrosa. C. bicolor should be the regular form as well. That came from Wichmann

  • @michaelmccarthy4077
    @michaelmccarthy4077 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

    I feel like tenebrosa and its hybrids are just unnecessarily slow to bloom. Other than BC Bessho, all of the other hybrids I have just drag and drag. Luminosa, for example, I can't believe isn't large enough to bloom and isn't getting the proper temperatures and light, yet that plant just put up another growth and no sign it wants to bloom yet.

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! I still have my Luminosa 😬😆 hope to bring it through the winter and see it recover some more when temps warm up. Considering it's slow growth, it has at least not collapsed after putting it in lava rock. Speaking of which, it needs a little water 😆 I am having difficulty moving around, so some orchids are probably in much need of a little trickle. Hard to reach places, moving orchids to get to them etc. It is all a little cumbersome. 12 weeks of this nonsense to go 😜 thank you so much for watching, my friend! Wishing you a fabYOUlous New Year's Eve Eve Day 🤔😂🤣 going to use that throughout the day now 😂🫶🏼❤️🌸
