🌸🥷🏼Director Jose San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰💐 good evening, gran amigo mio!! You are absolutely right about, there is no fast rules when growing orchids, but to have a visual guideline is hopefully useful to someone that watches and gets confused when they hear all the switches and changes in the environment and what to do. I am a visual learner, so... maybe this will help someone. 🤞🏼 thank you so much for your feedback 🙏🏼 Espero que estés bien, que tengas algo de tiempo para relajarte. Por favor extiende mi amor a tus princesas 🥰. Además, tus orquídeas 🥰 ¡Gracias por ver este video dos veces, especially while I am out of commission and trying to get back to some semblance of normalcy. I have power in the house again. It is now time for all the laundry to get cycled and hopefully the forecast is correct because there are so many things that need to dry out 🤞🏼 really appreciate you and all your support towards the orchids and myself, 🌸🥷🏼Gran Amigo mio!! I so appreciate you 🫶🏼❤️🌸

@NinjaOrchids Thanks, Nina. Today was crazy busy. I spent the day watering/fertilising my collection and getting them all insulated for winter. For me, that entails lining my shelves with heat retentive material and wrapping the outer pots of my most cold intolerant orchids with thin bubble wrap (the majority of my collection 😣). Unfortunately, with the current energy prices, I have to be economical with heating 😵💫. After all that, I also drained excess water from my outer pots (I always do this after watering. Otherwise, I'd be overwhelmed with fungus gnats). And yes, I got through the entire collection in one day because of that upcoming thing I emailed you about 😖. To top it all off I filtered and stored away quite a lot of my collected rainwater for my winter orchid watering. Today is literally all the time I have to spare, since the next couple of days will be spent on my MSc workload, and then the big day 😉. I am finally winding down for the day, but boy, am I exhausted. I feel happy knowing that I had a majorly productive day in terms of the orchids. I hope Sunday went well for you and that you had a peaceful and enjoyable day. 💖
Wow! I hope that you could rest with a great conscience since all is done! Reading your comment, had me check my list of orchid things to do, which have been neglected the past 3 weeks. I only just managed to water my phals 2 days ago, and not even flush. Filling their reservoir and moving on to other things that need my attention as well. Good for you, for being so diligent and getting things done, so that your mind is at ease in the coming weeks 😘
@NinjaOrchids I hope you are doing ok, Nina! You've been through so much in the past few weeks. I'm glad that you're finally getting a chance to tackle some orchid chores, but please pace yourself. 😁💜

Hope your day is going beautifully for you, already 🫶🏼❤️🌸
Hi Nina, you know I grow indoors under leds. This time of year I let the grow Area cool off a bit. When I'm watering some pots are still heavy, so less water and food as temps cool I spray topical fungicide, systemic fungicide and insecticide. I then start to warm the house during winter. I do not stop feeding just less over the winter. My orchids will grow through the winter. The Phals are in the cold spot to set spikes, some have started. Thanks for this Nina, lots of changes this time of year. You are the Orchid Master❤😂🎉😢😮😊.
🌸🥷🏼Bob San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰💐 hi! I love your set up and yes, in your growing conditions, your orchids will grow all year round (as most of them would and should) a wonderful situation to be in 🥹 am I envious? (a LOTTLE 🫣😅) after a whole month of overcast, darkness and rain, the orchids that are indoors, here, are really struggling. I do have some blooms, but the no light stress is evident. I wonder what I will have left after this winter... the relentless storms and weeks of no sun, its taking it's toll, not just on myself, but also the 'chiddos that cannot tolerate the outdoor temps. While it was somewhat warm enough during the storms, the indoor orchids could not be carried out because of the conditions. I think I may do damage if they come inside soaking wet. Meanwhile, I did not have time to move them in and out, even if I wanted to... been too busy trying to keep the water out of the property these past weeks. Which I did not succeed in, 100%, but I feel that it would have been much worse if I had not been proactive outside. Its a big mess. So, yes, to see your serene, clean and up and running grow space, its heaven to me! 😍 Thank you so much for watching this video, 🌸🥷🏼Amigo San! And thank you so much for your much appreciated friendship 🫶🏼❤️🌸
warm humid conditions .... that's my "Easy Care Conditions"! This year my Vanda Miss Joaquim bloomed profusely for its first time. My Dendrobium Biggibums are also blooming in profusion (pink, white and white/violet), as this time of year seems to be their season. I think I'm losing my Vanda Mokara - I have it in ICU. The mini cattleyas are still sending shoots galore *sigh* not a spike in sight (I have patience!). The Epidendrums are in a world of their own, and don't seem to pay heed to anything: they're just happy!! Of course, everything are outdoors, facing the teeth of airflow, light and rainwater. Your video is quite timely - as usual.
Hi Lyn 😍💐 you are in paradise and it shows with what you write here... not only great place to be as a human being but clearly, for orchids as well 🥰 thank you for your comment, confirming the equation that is best suited for most of the orchids we grow. Awesome video Nina!! Great tips and info for all orchid growers. And some sweet orchid blooms as well. I noticed that the description below was blacked out except for sites and links...🤔 I've encountered that on several other channels as well. Hope your weekend was pleasant and uneventful, time for you to rest up as it were, but then again we are orchid growers, so there is no rest...😅 🕊
🦤🦅😍Wingman, hi 🙌🏼 thank you so much for your time, support and kind feedback 🙏🏼 I can see the description... man alive!! What is going on?! 😫 can you have a look and see if you can see it now? I cannot double check, because no matter where I look, I can see it. My weekend as was ok. I am quite frankly a lottle overwhelmed. Today I am having technical issues, and I am seriously hoping it is nothing serious, but I have not been able to export a video (just over 3 minutes) ... I want to go to bed, but it is too early. Just really frustrated 😩 thank you so much for being here 😘 I hope YOU and Fluff are having a beautiful day 🫶🏼❤️🌸
@NinjaOrchids I just checked, the times, links and headlines are clearly visible but the actual script is still dark shadow, but it's semi-transparent but dark.
I have seen this same thing on a few other channels as well. Not sure what's going on but it is annoying when you want to read the full description....I will endeavor to try and find an answer.
@@robertforrest7956 Thank you 🥹 YT has been glitching very badly since they are doing a makeover, yet again, for how their platform looks, recommendations and well, in the Studio section. It is crazy... but I suppose it is important to YT to call 'comments' 'community' now. With that, many things have to be filtered to get to where I have to go.... I don't know if this lates roll out has anything to do with it. But their flipping new floating mini player, is also annoying af! At the moment, I am on serious borrowed time with what I have going on here, so the analytics SUCK! 😍Hi Joe 💐 good point! We would have to put () around another variable to then have the result of pests if something else gets out of hand 😅 let's pretend that, if the other variables are on point, pests would not become an issue, because thriving orchids can withstand a pest attack. ... wildlife, however, 😂 ok... Keeping orchids in my area seems so complicated! I live in Missouri, USA and we have drastic weather changes. From 100F to below freezing. In the winter I have to run humidifiers and in summers the sun is so hot the orchids need shading. Strangely enough, the orchids I have the most trouble with is the most common one in my area, the Phalenopsis. The roots would languish and they would die. In desperation I started putting them bare rooted in a jar with damp moss at the bottom and they are thriving like that! So confusing!
😍HI Jo 💐 oh, I hear you!! I have the same kind of extreme... at least for 8 months of the year, the majority of my orchids are in conditions that are suitable for them, but come the winter, I am really anxious for most of them as well. I am so glad to hear that you have got a set up figured out which gives you great results for your phals! That is a big step in the right direction. Like you, I found these supposedly 'easy' to grow orchids the most difficult to get right, as I HAD to (stubborn) get them to grow in leca and self watering. I refused to put them in bark 😆 it was my way, or the 'highway' and it took me years to get that figured out. It can really be confusing with these phals. I like to say, it is all the in the name, you know! They are not called complex hybrids for nothing. The key word being, 'complex' 😅 I really appreciate you watching this video, thank you so much!! I hope that you are already having a great Friday 🫶🏼❤️🌸
