    I'm getting this vehicle! I do like their CrossTrek wheels more :)

    Cool. I’ve been looking for ppf/ headlight protection since I ordered my Wilderness. I forgot WeatherTech sells it.
    Tip: Spray some tack or alcohol solution under the film in the larger bubbles around the edge and then squeegee it out to make them stick and settle faster.
    Sometimes the smaller bubbles can be eliminated if you poke a needle right through the center and squeeze the solution out.

      Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely do this if I decide to re-do the covers I have on my WRX.

      @@ronfromportland You’re welcome. I’ve been using PPF for a long time. With the complicated angles and curves of the newer cars, I just pay professional installers now. It’s worth a few extra hundred bucks to have them do it. In for a penny, in for a pound, and all that.

    hmmmm. There's a guy that makes protectors but for fog you do have option of amber and for the tail lights and headlaps to add a light smoky or smoky film. Which what i'm thinking o doing once I get mine.

      I would have done yellow fog light overlays but I recently installed the Diode Dynamics fog lights 😃

    Nice. How long is the useful life expectancy of these protective films from Weather Tech? Are they easy to remove in future for new replacement? Thanks for the well made video.

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not entirely sure how long they will last, assuming for years on end since Weather Tech is a reputable brand. It should be simple to remove with a heat gun even though it wasn’t required for the installation.
      Thanks for check the video out!

      @@ronfromportland Copy. Thanks for the quick reply. I hope the Weather Tech films work great for you. I personally would apply a good synthetic wax on the film as extra insurance that over the years it takes longer to break down and dry out. Maybe every 4-6 months at least. I would probably not go longer than 5-7 years without changing them out. I'm sure you've seen older vehicles with 3M films dried out cracked and yellowed because they were probably neglected or left on too long. UV light will take its toll even on treated stuff like those films that should resist UV degradation for about 5 years. Lamin-X also makes great lense protection films of various colors and tint.

      Subbed. I should be getting my 23 Outback Premium next week. 1st Subie.

      @@truckerrickakamanowar yup! Completely agree! Ceramic coat was also applied on the film so it should help with longevity.

      @@truckerrickakamanowar congrats, enjoy it. I drove an Outback premium as a rental and it was way more comfortable.

    I see what your doing…trying to ease us in, then BOOM! 400hp mod right in our face!😂 Just messing with you bro, great install and as usual great attention to details! I need to hook my headlights and taillights with a protective film.

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HAHA 😂. That made me crack up!
      I should have used these covers when I first got the WRX. Applying it was easy!

    It's been 1.5+ years since the film was installed.
    Are you satisfied with the results, or is there anything you'd do differently?

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Super satisfied. The only thing I would do differently is to address the 1/4” spot on top of the headlight that I thought wouldn’t be a concern. I would have spent more time ensuring it stuck on there instead of assuming. Overtime, a little bit of dirt got in there causing a small lift on the edge but it’s barely noticeable.

    I would not have the patience for this.

      @@ronfromportland I would eventually get up and walk away I think. But I wouldn’t mind having a guard like this.
