The issue I find with the dealers that have cars in stock, they already put their big sticker logos on the back trunk and also already drill for the license plate in the front.
I know I’m not supposed to say but……I see you putting the license plate out of the way to not block the up and coming front mount! I mean shhhhh radiator cooling😅 great video brother!
I only hand wash but I wouldn’t recommend running through the car wash with the plate. The tow hook should be fine but you risk the plate bending from the scrubbers if it gets caught.
If you remove the tow hook covers, are they easy to put back on? I have the vinyl to black them out but the instructions state to leave the covers on. I rather take them off and do it
Super easy to put back on, just fish through the little plastic connector and push. Just be careful removing them since the plastic of the bumper is soft.
@@ronfromportland thank you. We ended up getting the 2023 Crosstrek Sport. Wilderness isn’t in our budget. Haha! Now looking for small things to add. So far the Parrin relocator and the cover for now. Maybe window deflectors.
Does it matter which side you mount it too? I put mine on the opposite side and it’s slightly blocking the fog lights. I don’t want to reinstall/check the other side if you’ve tried.
I installed on the right side (opposite of yours) and a small bit of the light emitted from the fog light hits the back of the license plate. It looks like yours. Does yours completely clear the beam of light?
@@joker2100 nope, a small piece of the plate gets hit by the light, but not enough to impact visibility/output. I didn’t want to move it up too high since it just looks too off 😂
@@ronfromportland I re-installed to the driver side and there is more clearance for the fog lights than the passenger side. Perrin should make this more apparent in their instructions.
I wanna start with how much I love watching your content, I personally drive a 2018 Wrx base, but I still enjoyed watching this video. Ik it’s related to this video, but on your 2018 wrx do you like the GS Bpv or the nameless Bpv more? I’m running GS rn.
Thanks a lot for watching the videos, man! I appreciate that. I like the sound of the GS BPV more than the Nameless one. Since the GS BPV didn’t work out for my setup, I’d have to go with the Nameless.
@@ronfromportland man I’m sorry to hear, I have a really loud flutter and I’m in love with it, the compliments have made my day. Getting my first pro tune on Thursday! (GS BPV, GS stealth intake, nameless muffler delete, GS 3 port boost controller, and a Cobb accessport)
This is the only Perrin part on my wrx. It’s definitely worth whatever it costs. Looks really good
Couldn’t agree with you more!
That looks good on the Wilderness. I ordered one for my 2018 FXT last week.
Thanks! Should look nice on the FXT!
I’m so glad we don’t have front plates in Michigan.
Lucky!
In Massachusetts, if you have an older plate, it's only a single plate. Unfortunately I gave mine up many moons ago.
Subbed for awesome wilderness content!!
Thank you, Eden! I appreciate that!!

Yup, I had to call ahead of time and tell them to not install the front plate!
When I ordered my 2024 wilderness I requested not to drill for license plate also.

😅😂😅man you got me crackin’ up over here 😂
Have you tried going through a car wash with it still installed? Any issues if so?

Looks good. Glad you replaced the cover, that would bother the shit out of me.
Yes, I had to! 😂
Can I ask where you got your license plate cover? Trying to find one that’s durable and won’t discolor.
I picked it up from Amazon. It’s a flat style cover. Can’t guarantee it’ll last long but it works amzn.to/3GKy9Qr

Nope, either side works. I had to adjust the plate pretty high up to avoid blocking the fog light though.

Is this safe in a car wash?
I’ve never tried since I just hand wash my cars. I wouldn’t do it though.
Doesn’t look right
Dude... that doesn't look right.
If the center had pre-drilled holes and mounts, I totally would place it there. Took me a while to accept the look of it 😂!
