    Blaine strikes again with over the top walk through, showing off ARRI Rhaw, great shots, and your mad skills adjusting it in DRS with a sprinkle of Dehancer. Very impressive my friend, very impressive. ARRI has a lot of flex to fix issues. So awesome. Thanks for the wisdom of years of understanding ARRI, grading and DPing.

    As someone who usually plays it on the safe side with looks but also loving dehancer which can be a little much (IMO) I had no idea you could just change the output and just add a touch of some secret sauce to your image. Thanks for a bother great one Blaine!

    Brilliant! Ive been working on my own film look workflow in Resolve with Cineprint16. It's pretty good for the price but the node tree isn't always as easy to adjust parameters like Dehancer! Do you shoot while having Dehancer in mind? If so, are there any adjustments you make exposure wise while shooting that are noteworthy or does that not change for you at all?

    • @BlaineWestropp1
      @BlaineWestropp1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like cineprint 16! I’ve graded some images using it and it’s really cool. If I think I will use Dehancer on a project, I won’t expose any different type of way. I also only shoot using the manufacturer 709 LUT. If there’s a LUT that was designed for the project and has to be on the monitors, fine, but I will always toggle the regular rec709 on my monitor.

    You should try out the color warper’s second screen, set the hue to +30 and then you can map your white balance shifts. Ive been using it to make tungsten shifts move one stop orange/blue for every two stops it normally does and pinching the green magenta shift to correct discoloured lights.

    Do you have a preference of Rec709 vs sRGB? I feel like most people viewing content online are using sRGB monitors so it would make sense to grade in that space, but what do you think?

    • @BlaineWestropp1
      @BlaineWestropp1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think on the new macs, and any Mac screen really, using this workflow works very well. When I do this workflow and work prep the project to 709A, what I see in resolve is the same as I see on the render, and on TH-cam/Vimeo. It looks good on my phone, and on an srgb monitor I have, and my TV. So it’s working for me. I have always been in the 709 space for video delivery and it’s working. Have you experimented with srgb in resolve? I haven’t.

    • @LogaFilms
      @LogaFilms ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BlaineWestropp1 I haven’t done a proper A/B comparison between them, but I’ve usually been using sRGB at the end of my color space transforms and haven’t noticed a huge difference. I know the gamma curve is a bit different, but it would be interesting to see them side by side. I’ve just always associated Rec709 with television, so if I’m grading for TV I work in that space. I’m no expert though 🤷‍♂️

    • @BlaineWestropp1

      I would toggle it on and off and see if you see a difference on your display. I would then render under both circumstances in order to get to a point where the file that you render looks like what you see on the display.
