totally agree! it’s the interplay between the two guitars that really does it for me. i also love the way the tempo of the song gradually increases during the first minute or so.
i totally disagree w all the hate DM gets for this. his vocals are great, mix perfectly w jagger’s, and dave’s clearly into the song and not trying to upstage mick.
it’s actually mick’s vocals on this version that are an ‘acquired taste’. if you’re too deep in the ‘hot rocks’ ‘retail stones’ fan club, his vocals may instantly put you off this.
but i agree. my favorite version of this tune bar none, studio original included. i’m happy to be finding others. cheers :)

Yeah my buddy had the DVD of this show back in the day and we use to blare this through a proper stereo. It sounded amazing like that.

Dave's voice is so different, so good. He knows how to use that voice in his music to the best of its ability.

@@jimdiskin3760 he also did it in LA, on November 10-1997 It was on the bridges 2 Babylon tour he wore the same shirt said the same thing & went 2town with the song . ✌🏼

One of the best songs the Stones ever did.
I remember when the Stones didn't allow anyone else on their stage.
That was back when they didn't gouge us on the price of tickets, but were all about keeping the price down so a teenager like me making close to minimum wage could buy a ticket on about 4 to 4 -1/2 hours of work.
Back then you could see them in a 20,000 -seat hockey arena instead of watching them on TV at a 60,000 -seat football stadium.
