I own both of these, like Peter says you can’t go wrong with either. Short term the ninja will be the easiest to get use to due to lower gravity and height. It also looks amazing and so much fun. But as an experienced rider of well over 20 years I would choose the versys x300. More comfortable with wind protection everywhere. Both have a super fun engine but I enjoy the 300 for what it is and wouldn’t change it, the fact you have to rev it makes it so much fun and engaging. You can take it down a dirt road, through twisties and head home on the motorway, all on one tank of fuel. It’s a very underrated bike.

While there might not be too many people cross shopping these two bikes, I certainly am! Both of these bikes are within my budget in my area, the Ninja more so. I’ve been watching a lot of trail riding videos with gorgeous scenery and I’m leaning towards the Versys as a first time rider who likes the idea of exploring. At 5’8 the height of the Versys seemed a bit outside of my comfort zone though I know boots can provide a slight boost. It sounds like I need to go check out that Ninja! Thank you!

The height may not be too much for you, so if you get a chance to sit on it, I'd give it a try. But, yeah, both of these bikes are motorcycles that I highly recommend often!

I sat on the Versys prior to the MSF course, so I might have a different perspective now. I was able to touch on both sides at the same time with the balls of my feet but I didn’t feel very confident. The salesperson said that I was actually par for the course for an adventure bike’s seat height and I was wearing Converse. As a lightweight, I feel like leverage (rather than brute strength) over the bike will help me better manage the weight. Lack of sure footing feels like a slippery slope to dropping the bike in what otherwise would be an avoidable situation. Thanks for the reply!

Which would you recommend for a pillion?

The Versys-X 300 is comfortable for 2 people.

Had 2 r6 and a zx6. Down to only a klx300sm and love it. In the city a supersport doesn't get to do what it was meant to do.

A local dealer has a floor price of $6900 for the Versys X300. I currently rise a Z125 pro. (First bike ever).
The Versys for sale is brand new but, it's a 2022. If it's still there next April, do you think I can offer a financed price of $5999?
Doesn't seem unreasonable considering later that year, the 2024 will be out. It will be a two year old model.

I don't see a dealer selling it for that low, however, if you're thinking of offering an amount, it's always best to discuss with that dealer. Even if they say no, initially, they'll know they have a buyer if they need to move it later.

Get a mt07 instead or one of these new hornets 750

Those don't compete with these, those would compete with the 650 lineup of bikes in the Kawasaki lineup.

What bike is better for switchbacks, hairpins, tight and narrow canyon roads, not high speed sweepers?

It would be a personal choice between these two bikes. The Ninja 400 has sportier tires and more power to exit the turns, but the Versys-X 300 has wider handlebars, and a more upright seating position, so in the tightest turns, I would probably take the Versys but in slightly wider turns, I'd probably take the Ninja. Both bikes are going to be extremely nimble.

What motorcycles would you recommend for a beginner who wants to start stunting in the future?

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  ปีที่แล้ว

The KLX 300 SM. And that's probably the only one in the lineup that fits your description right now.

    X 300 has a 21 inch front tire ?

The small ninjas have always been great beginner bikes, all the way back to the 250
