I bought the base 2022 KLR with Abs for $5800 (US) two years ago. It's the perfect bike. A blank canvas that you can personalize to your needs with reasonable aftermarket options.
Best tires so far : dunlop mission trail. 50 /50 and they wear long time. Add 1 tooth to front sprocket. 1st gear still lauches easy and 5th is better overdrive.
I would have agreed with you regarding the KLR up until this year with the release of the new Royal Enfield 452 Himalayan and the ADV offerings from CF Moto. The RE is getting rave reviews for performance, and reliability at $5600.00. The CF Moto wouldn’t be my choice but I’ve seen actual owners like Nathan The post man take them all over the world and beat the hell out of them. I also believe they are well under $10k.
The Himalayan may prove to be a better bike in the long run, but for me it’s too new. RE’s first attempt at a water cooled engine is bound to have issues. They do look fantastic though.
And this in not your fathers THUMPER. IT REVS and pulls hard in every gear. It is a SHORT STROKE 4 VALVE SINGLE. TORQUE is instant. 4 inch piston w 81 mm stroke. Put a 2018 head pipe. Drill and weld 12mm nut and put o2 sensor in with a Lexx pipe. It will howl like an old triumph bonnie. WO vibes. 3 counterbalancers and super rubber mounts make the heavy bomber the B17 of dirt roads and 3 state in one day highway mule. Ive had 50 years of all makes incl. Moto Guzzi. This is my bang for buck grab and go bike. Period.

I only got 25 miles on my white S KLR and I love it.
I just bought a 2024 stripped down version. My first motorcycle ever. It’s a great deal for the money.
5:40 Eastern Beaver makes a plug and play kit that lets you turn the ABS on and off with a switch.

Hi Peter
No way. The Klr won't be in a shop and parts and service are available IF you can break it.

is it euro 5
Honestly, I'm not sure. I film in Canada, so I'm not always up to date on if certain bikes are certified in other areas.
No, it is still Euro 2.
