Good video, I enjoyed it. When it comes to keeping warm, many thin layers is the deal as well as not getting cold on your head, as well as your feet. When I did my military here in Sweden, many would wear thin layers, usually, and I know this may be controversial, a pair, or 2 paira of panty hose, then a pair of leggings, long johns, then for motorcyle i would have wool pants, then your riding pants. Equal layers on your upper body. Now, a trick is not to get too warm before you ho outside. That will make you sweat, and that will get you cold and possibly also get you a cold. Put on the last layers outside, or in your garage just before you take off. Cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thanks for your videos. Got myself a 2024 Sea-to-Sky in October and rode 3000 miles before hibernation ! (I’m in Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦) As a FYI, also new for the 2025 Sea-to-Sky is a back-up camera as standard equipment and it is optional for the RT’s
@@slypx2 Beautiful machine. That’s wonderful that you got some quality miles in before putting her to sleep for a bit. Oh ok, I thought it was standard on the party limited as well. I stand corrected.

Well glad to see your still out and about. A pinlock will keep your visor clear. If I buy a helmet without it it’s summer use only. Now as for your knees I found that when i put the pads in my riding jeans they keep the fabric off my knees and the cold dosnt transmit through. The Kevlar lining also helps with wind and kinda acts as a thin thermal layer. I also carry metal zip ties just in case something hot breaks and needs to be held up.
@@SIRyker thank you for the advice. I’m actually looking into a new helmet (Shoei GT Air 3) that comes with the pinlock. I’ll probably purchase one in the spring. I’m going to have to look into riding jeans. As of now I’m just wearing regular jeans which I know offer zero protection.
@@JerseySpyder can never go wrong with a top of the line lid. I personally love my Nolan for winter and a LS2 Advant X Modular Helmet for the rest of the year. I found the flip to the back lids are way more versatile than regular modular types. The only problem with riding jeans is the pads can put pressure on your knees on very long rides but just puttering around in the winter that probably wont be an issue.
I took mine out today here in NY. I drove an hour down to my daughter’s place in Manhattan. When I left my house it was 37. I had fleece lined ski pants over my jeans and my legs wear warm the entire ride. Heated vest, sweatshirt and leather jacket on my torso and that was warm as well.
@ yeah but it was all thin layers so I didn’t feel too bulky so that was good. Driving down to NYC is not my favorite ride but a ride is a ride. I was just letting you know about the pants. I got them at BJs

If you’re too good to wear chaps, you could wear your rain gear lowers if they are lined, they would be almost as good as chaps. Although not if you came well off the bike.
