- New Zealand’s prime minister tells the Guardian how her life has changed and her ambition for a can-do country. She says she appreciates still being able to do 'normal things' and says her pregnancy has given her a wider perspective: 'There's been a couple of meetings where I'll be working away, very focused on an issue, and I'll get a sharp kick in the ribcage and it's this little reminder that there's something else going on in my life'

From a Swedish perspective, Jacinda Ardern is the PM and personality I would have run all countries in Europe. I see her having both feet on the ground, display a well defined diplomacy, working hard and yet never forgetting we are all human and we need that human spirit to focus on how to become better human beings. A savvy interviewer and interviewee will sometimes get into a duel. It can be quite entertaining if you recognize what is going on.
PM Ardern is my favorite world leader, past or present, right up there with Obama. It's so refreshing to know that at least one country on the face of the planet has a leader capable of compassion and empathy. People often joke (mainly Australians) about borrowing her for their country so she can fix it up, but I think the world can agree that this is the one time it ought to be acceptable to say: America first. (Like, please? She kept the COVID-19 pandemic under control and actually passed gun legislation to keep the Kiwis safe. If we can get our country to the point where it can begin to heal on its own, than the rest of the world will be significantly more stable and in a better position to heal itself too.)

Just for the record, Ardern was not elected PM of New Zealand. She was appointed as leader of a coalition government by a vindictive, disgruntled, former National MP with a grudge against the National Party, which, incidentally, won the most votes in the General Election. (I voted against MMP, I am thankful to say).
I am not, and have never been, a supporter of either the National or Labour parties. Both are reprehensible, corrupt, and IMO, two faces of a single party, doing the bid of the globalists.
