Um you said that NZ gave women the vote 20 years before the USA. I think you should have mentioned that NZ was the first country to give women the vote.

. Earl Greystoke reasons you are wrong.
      A) Isle of Man gave women who owned property the right to vote. NZ gave all women of voting age the vote.
      B) Isle of Man isn't a country.

Gabriel Guzman are you trying to say that has anything to do with NZ being the first country to give women the vote? Or that NZ is in some way not progressive because of this?

What a pathetic and offensive line of questioning. Asking her partner if he’s ever looked after a baby before? Does anyone ever ask an expectant mother if they’ve ever looked after a baby before?! No. Does he offer political opinion? Do we ever ask a politician’s wife the same? No. Do we really need to be asking these lame questions?

An earthquake is a huge energy source and the energy has to go somewhere. A house absorbs energy when things break. The earthquake energy goes into torn foundations, fractured beams and twisted walls.
An earthquake is an explosion that keeps going. Up to two minutes of shaking that can demolish the strongest structure, unless it is protected.
Taylor Devices provides a much better way to absorb earthquake energy, so your structure is safe. Small shock absorbers, similar to those on your car, hide in a few walls. The earthquake energy goes into these powerful cylinders and your structure remains unharmed.
These small dampers absorb most of the earthquake energy, leaving your house intact. They are easily installed and are completely hidden.
The Advanced Technology Council has prepared a guide for you that tells you how safe your structure is from earthquakes and how to protect it.

Ashlea Nicole Look Ashley. She is destroying our economy. She is creating more welfare plans for the people who choose not to work. She has created a new welfare policy where if you have a newborn and you are poor, that kid gets $60 a week. Instead of educating these people to use contraception or tell them simply they cant afford another child, she hands out our hard earned money and entices them to have more children. And when they complain that it's too expensive to raise 10 kids, she taxes more and hands out more to them. Then people like you mistake this for equality and a caring government when in reality the country is turning into a government dependent state. Would you like to live in a country where you don't get rewarded for your skill and achievements? Do you really want everyone to be equal when you know you have gone the extra mile? When you were the one that worked hard and your fellow citizen spends their welfare on booze and drugs or another child? But hey have to help them to achieve equality right?
But people like Ashley just gush at her because she's easy on the eyes and is friendly and "hipster'.
Your generation will be the downfall of this country because you see politics as a popularity contest.

LOL National are our Liberal party though. We had eight years of Liberalism under them and it lead to a failing public sector, our economy kept oscillating as per usual so no real growth and of course we wasted millions on a useless flag referendum.
Labour are more Social Democratic and Ardern is even a Republican (hence why they mentioned her wanting to get rid of the Queen as head of State). It pays to understand that political context isn't the same in every country.

    • @Cabolt44
      @Cabolt44 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

National didn't win, as under MMP (which is a fairer system then stupid FFP), she won by getting the collective numbers. National lost it's major partners from the last election - with only ACT Party remaining. There was no real way National would've got ahead without the Greens of NZ First. National burnt bridges with the Greens due to poor attitudes (calling the party several times 'crazy') and same with NZ First (the Bolger Government shafted NZ First).

Even now, the haters still hate our Prime Minister. What's best about Jacinda is that her priority is the Middle-Low income earners. Not the top like the National Party likes it to work out. Who cares that she's having a baby? All that I care about is the fact can she carry out her duties as Prime Minister and look after those who need it the most. That's all I'm worried about. I'm proud of our Prime Minister.

PhoenixSuns NZ like I say refugees tend to have a net economic benefit and we’re talking about a relatively small population anyway but none the less as a kiwi who grew up poor and who’s parents never owned a home, or rented a quality house, and who isn’t planning to own a home herself just because it’s not a realistic goal (even if I will be a professional) I definitely think we need to be kinder to our own as well. I do worry though, we’re going to have whole nations of climate refugees on our doorstep eventually and I think we have to give them a place to come, we can argue that what’s going on in the Middle East and Asia hasn’t got much to do with us but we can’t say that we haven’t as a society contributed directly to environmental conditions which will disproportionately effect those in our own regional backyard, and we also need to acknowledge the fact that Pacifica people already disproportionately occupy the status of working poor and that our nation has profited off of that. We should plan and build for that now as well as for those poor coastal communities here who will also be refugees in their own country. Perhaps learning to deal with a couple of thousand refugees now will prepare us to deal with hundreds of thousands later.

I first remember hearing that term from a 1980’s UK sitcom, “The Young Ones”. I wouldn’t be overly surprised if one of the writers of that show came up with the phrase. ‘Swot’ of course, means to study, especially before an exam, and a ‘Girlie Swot’ is likely to go overboard on the studying, with their head forever in one book or another.

These interviewers are so detached. Having a baby while being in power is a very significant thing and I'm of proud Jacinda, but all the other social issues she brought up aren't very significant. An unmarried couple having a child, a stay at home husband, these are all realities of the modern world but she's acting like they are crazy unheard of concepts. This is really eye-opening to Americas old fashioned, conservative values
