Just to clarify the average maximum temperature in Melbourne in July (the middle of winter) is 13.5 degrees celsius, and it almost never gets below 0 degrees. That might be cold by Australian standards, but it isn't really cold compared to winters in much of the rest of the world.

Been to Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne..
All 3 cities are different & beautiful on their own depending on what lifestyle & scenery you prefer.. Personally, Sydney wins for me. It’s the city that gave me that “I wanna live here..” feeling..
I’m a guy in my late 30’s so I’m way past my interest in nightlife. I prefer the chill bars & pubs where you can just eat, drink & chat.. Plus the public transpo in Sydney is much more efficient. In terms of expenses, they’re almost the same. Both are actually expensive. So with almost the same price range of rent and all things considered, I think Melbourne is expensive for what it is.. If low cost of living is what you’re looking for, Brisbane wins without a doubt. But it’s too chill & too laid back for my liking.

I visited Melbourne, then Adelaide, then Brisbane, finished with Sydney, but you know what guys !!! I felt in love with SYDNEY. Sydney is that beautiful and lots of things to explore. Public transport is efficient and reliable in Sydney. Melbourne is so boring and the bad weather, very dirty everywhere in Melbourne, Melbourne public transport is that shits, too much delay and cancellations in Melbourne. The most bad thing about Melbourne is Melbourne has no attractions and has a dirty brown river which passes through it with full of rubbish in its, including used babe pumpers, used empty bottles and full of mosquitoes 🦟 guys with very bad smell

Melbourne has two major train stations. N" 1 Melbourne flinders street station , N" 2 Melbourne southern cross stations. What about Sydney: 1 : Sydney central station, n"2 wynyard station, n"3 Townhall station. Sydney got the biggest train station in Australia ( Sydney central station) the most beautiful train station in Australia ( Sydney wynyard station) and town hall station. Sydney got skyline trains, Sydney got under water trains, I used to pay 2 dollars for the whole day trains , trams, bus and ferry fair in Sydney. When you are in Melbourne you can see high buildings but once you left the CBD for 5 kilometers you can't see 8 storey buildings, but in Sydney Look at homebush there you will see 35 storey buildings, chatwood, 35 story buildings, parramatta, 60 story buildings, nsw is full of beautiful things Melbourne is so lonely, no ferry tour, nothing to do in Melbourne. Just lonely. And people are not friendly there in Melbourne. I saw the beautiful Sydney and I cancel everything for Melbourne and stay in Sydney. Melbourne can be that cheaper for house rent because it's so lonely there and so boring in Melbourne nothing to do in Melbourne CBD

Great vid, I lived in Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne for nearly a decade in each, & you can’t even compare Melb to Syd - they’re completely different cities… none of which have anything in common… & one would be an absolute fool to think Melbourne is better than Sydney for any reason except for the Yarra Valley - but come on - Sydney’s got better property, better culture, richer history, you know better weather, all the nature, perfect temperatures, the way of life, infrastructure, natural landmarks, man-made iconic architecture and structures, travel / much less traffic density & BS grid chaos, employment opportunities, cultural diversity & dining / cafe’s (& no Melbourne’s coffee isn’t better, Brisbane actually wins that battle hands down) - you need to do a lot more exploring of Sydney, The south (Sutherland shire) & northern suburbs (Palm beach & Central Coast) & not to mention including living in the East in Dover Heights or Bondi…
Melbourne is absolutely stunning and may have had the reputation 10 years ago but it’s well and truely gone and washed off, though still offers an amazing way of life, but it lacks so much… SO MUCH! Including its entirety of surrounding suburbs - I mean wtf, for example It’s iconic landmarks are a train station and a tiny hollow entertainment zone called Federation Square… just a little bit drab…
I mean come on Melbourne, I love you to bits but even Brisbane has the Queens wharf, amazing bridges & SouthBank.
A huge plus victoria has though is its special events for arts, sports, music, automotive etc
Though Sydney’s nightlife kills melbourne! you just need to know the city better.
Sydneys biggest downfall is property prices, it will drain your bank account like nothing else & you better have a huge nest egg to invest if you’re looking to buy.
    End comment 🙂👍

Well... maybe winter is "very very cold" in Melbourne for australian standards... If you compare Melbourne winter with the cold season in North America or in North Europe (in Toronto or in Moscow the average temperature in winter is usually 15/25 celsius degrees under zero) ... I don't think you can say that it's really cold in Melbourne.

The saddest thing about Melbourne that since its founding, roughly 60 years after Sydney was, it has always tried to be better than Sydney whilst never succeeding. Having a bigger population won't cut it. Melbourne has been bigger than Sydney before, back in the 1890s but Sydney took that title back. Having more people means nothing. It is the fabric of the city and metro area and how easy it is to move around it that makes a good city. Sydney has 77 beaches, numerous national parks, great rivers, the world's largest and most beautiful natural harbour. Moving around is a lot easier too, with 7,000 buses, the nation's largest suburban and interurban rail system with the biggest trains, a new metro rail system with autonomous trains, four light rail lines with two of those served by the world's longest trams and a fleet of harbour ferries that let you take in the sights that cannot be seen from land. We also have WestConnex, the world's biggest underground motorway network, and if you want to see penguins you don't have to leave town like you do in Melbourne - there's penguins on Sydney Harbour.
Melbourne does have one good thing - the road to Sydney!

Bigger, no. Melbourne has closed the gap considerably in the last 2 decades but Sydney is still bigger, albeit marginally now (roughly 5% difference in population size to be accurate). It was on track to overtake Sydney by around 2035, but Covid wrecked everything and now that prospect has been delayed. But it seems inevitable as Melbourne is simply more affordable. And yes, it's better.

For guys it's easier to pick favourite cities. It all depends on what sort of female company you prefer. Melbourne is an elegant and intelligent young woman. Sydney is a vivacious brat who knows she's really good looking. Brisbane is the girl next door who somehow became hot while you weren't looking. Adelaide is the small town girl who overcompensates with partying. Perth is the one who doesn't want to be a part of her family. Darwin is the hell-raiser. Canberra is the one with no discernible personality. And Hobart is the one you always forget about..

Another very important point is how to get around the city. About this point IMO Melbourne wins because of its very good public transport system, much better than Sydney. Melbourne has a wonderful tramways network
that does not exist in Sydney. Old style trams are amazing and get around with them is also a very interesting tourist attraction.

    • @JayJayGamerOfficial
