I am going to assume you don't really play ret pally for the purpose of this video.
These mage tower challenges are hard. Don't let anyone tell you different.
The hardest part is playing a class you don't know how to play. If you are struggling to do the dps rotation it is going to be way harder.
Don't beat yourself up, these are going to come back.
Use every advantage you can. Get all the good gear, every macro, every weak aura
Do SoO for sockets
The whole ret challenge is to deal damage to the health bars of the 3. Damaging the shields doesn't count towards the ultimate goal of destroy the health bars. But you have to break it to interrupt the dude anyway.
Don't be afraid to bubble when you mess up and learn from that mechanic
There is a lot of RNG in this fight. The clear that people get will look easy, because it was easy. The runes lined up decently , the angle was basically a non mechanic. You only see the success not the failures.
Interrupt as much as you want. The cast time on the shielded cast is longer than your interrupt cd
