This dude hosted me last night at like 2am EST with 250 viewers while I was showing my discord buddies how to make the Mara pull. Had me shook. I appreciate the host but I wanted to say that I appreciate the videos and use you as a primary source for any farming content I need to learn. Thank you and keep up the good work!
After about 1-2 hours of failing at it gloriously, dying about a dozen times, I managed to pull off my first solo ZF GY farm thanks to this video. Cheers dude! You're awesome.
Learning this is one of the most frustrating things i've ever done- and thats just opening the graves without dying. I could have been 60 last week if i just grinded mobs in the open, but now its personal
@@benwhittle9001 Feel like the average player in classic is kinda bad. I started this on my first mage lvl 43 today and it took less than 15 deaths to get the routine down after watching this guide.
@@rappenable less than 15 deaths, thats reasonable. It only takes a few. The thing with this farm is there's multiple ways to do it, each much different to complete. The easiest is just use cone of cold on the floor and run in a circle. But takes a bit longer Also if you suffer with latency you're gonna have a hard time with these farms. I used to play on US with 120ms all the time and it most definitely makes it a nightmare
@@rappenable i have less than 20 wipes doing this but i have also completed it like 6-7 times too. i have the strategy down perfect but my keyboard sticks sometimes and i miss the jump. every death has been from missing the jump cuz my shitty keyboard. think ill buy a new one i guess?
Not sure if this is well known but if you fall, there’s a reset spot. If you notice the pillar broken into 3 pieces, if you run in between the first two, it’ll reset them. Hope I saved you guys a lot of death runs!
Had a level 44 mage alt. Watched this video not more than 2 days ago and it's now level 52 after just around 6 hours playtime (Had some rested xp saved up for that first level). This strategy is surprisingly easy to get down, really appreciate the thoroughly detailed video!
Man, when I first started watching this I was like, "aw man, I don't want to watch a 30 minute video on someone yabbering pointless stuff". Boy was I wrong. Your video is SO full of information and INCREDIBLY helpful and well-edited. Thank you so much for sharing your strategies for this. My mage is 42 and although I know it's going to be rough, your video has made me excited to try this. Thank you so much!
This was a really helpful video, thanks! A few things I learned from starting this at lvl 42 and from tips picked up in other comments: - If you die a LOT, don't worry, as long as you're improving you'll get there. Took me 4 hours to really start getting it but it CAN be done at level 42 and once you get the hang of it, quite straightforward. - If you're having trouble deaggroing on the first safe spot, as an alternative run up the hill to the right and jump (mounted) onto the wall. This is a little risky as you've only got 1 try at this. If you miss the wall jump you can skip and try to run to the second safe spot, but you might need to blow your cooldowns nova / cold snap to get there. But if you make it onto the wall, it's EASY to deaggro and you can then hop down a little bit onto one of the posts that sticks out from the wall, , which will allow you to mount up and go for safe spot no. 2. This vid will show you how to jump onto the wall th-cam.com/video/2BKLbd56C8A/w-d-xo.html - if you're aggroing the boss in the scarab room and he won't reset, use the safe spot referred in this video, then jump up to the crack in the wall, quickly jump down on to the other side of the wall, run forward and take a left at the end of the wall and jump onto the box on the ground. He will de aggro then once you're on the box. - if you're having trouble opening graves, just open the first ones Arleus does on the right, hide behind the vase, then run straight to the safe spot behind the boss. Climb up as normal. So you're standing on the ledge directly above the safe spot area, then wand the boss and step back a bit to deaggro after a few seconds. He will summon zombies 1 to 2 at a time from the graves, to save you doing it! Keep doing this until he stops summoning zombies when you aggro him. Takes 5 to 10 minutes but it's safer. Then when you're ready to start the kill, just rank 1 flames trike the stairs in front of the boss and all the mobs will come to you, clumped up and no need for extra pulls. - as said by others here, if you fall down while jumping between the platforms, immediately sit down behind the left box, as far left as you can. Don't sit too far to the right of this box as the mobs will come to you. Eventually they will all de aggro you might need to shuffle left and right a bit and keeping sitting down again. You can start over the kill once you deaggro everything. - finally, THAT jump, you know the one I mean at the safe spot in the graveyard room. You don't get much time to try before you get mashed. The jump is actually simple, DON'T run forward as you jump! Press jump and THEN press W to go forward. Point yourself slightly to the right as you do it. 2 hops and you'll be up!
It takes a little longer using the above method to get all the zombies but it's a pain in the arse the method in this video because sometimes mobs don't pull, sometimes the boss comes up on the ledge and kills you and sometimes you pull patrols like witch doctors that you have to keep sheeped, whereas using the "safe" method above that's never ever happened to me in around 8 successful kills! It's worth taking the extra 5 minutes imho
I used this strat (thanks Arlaeus!) to level from 44 to 54 and it was very fast. Some tips: 1) For races that are too tall to use the safe spots and need consumables, you have another option besides noggenfoggers (which aren't available until level 44). Savory deviate delights work perfectly, last an hour, and you can still mount up! 2) If using safe spots on the way to the GY, don't wait just until the mobs are reset. Make sure any totems that are remotely close to you are also down. Otherwise, they tend to put you back in combat when you peek out to mount up. 3) On your first few runs, instead of immediately triggering the boss and opening graves I recommend you lose your trailing mobs behind the pots on the left as you enter the graveyard. Then, with no mobs around, practice the jump up onto the boss's temple. I had a lot of trouble with this jump at first because I was trying to jump in the actual corner, but it's easier if you don't hug the wall. It took me a few tries to learn it but it's super worth it! You make pretty decent gold as well.
25:48 There is another reset spot that I just found, after dieying like 10 times by failng the jumps :L If you fall at the spot where you jump back and forth, there are 3 stones, stand in between the middle one and the one at the wall. Enemies will evade. So if you fail the jump, you can hide and reset the attempt without having nova / blink through them
I'm confused - I see the two blocks clearly at 25:54, but where is the reset spot? on the ground between them, on the tip on one of them, somewhere else?
Awesome video, thank you. This may be common knowledge now, but the spot under where you jump from ledge to ledge during the kill phase (between the wall column and the very first block at the ground level) is also a reset spot. if you fall off when you are on the ledge closest to the witch doctor you can hide in between the two blocks to reset. You can then mount up and jump back up the exact way you came down (all the way back around the witch doctor) to get all mobs once again and repeat the encounter. If the mobs get to you before you make it to the spot they can technically path to you if they have LOS when you enter the spot, however. This spot has saved me quite a few times.
I've watched quite a few videos on these runs and I just want to say that yours is the best one out there imo. You explain EVERYTHING!! I've done this ZF GY run for 3 levels now and everything I've had to learn by trial and error (aka: dying loads) you've explained and made clear, plus you even showed how to get out and everything. I'm also happy you actually gave credit to where you found this, even tho that guy is not the first one who found it or anything but whatever if he wants to make everyone believe he did :p Great vid, love your stuff!
Just to add on this, when you are running your character through ZF and are using the reset spots, there are different positions on the reset spots. So for example, a general rule of thumb, on the second reset spot, if a mob is aggro'd to you from the right side, use the right block to reset. If a mob is on the left side, (will be a patrol) position yourself on the left block that's angled. The first reset spot also has something like this, but I can't remember the rule. You don't need to sit or noggen, just try whatever block you're not behind.
Are the reset spots (especially the first one) only working for gnomes. I'm a human level 32 and cannot test this right now so i was wondering if you or anyone else knows.
@@psyonicpanda Thanks. I tested if i could reset the aggro with my warrior. Works perfextly and you dont even have to jump with a mount to get up on the ledge.
Can 100% confirm that Edgemaster's Handguards CAN drop from the "Zul'Farrak Dead Hero" non-elite mob that sometimes spawns from the graves. I was quite shocked seeing them pop up while looting on my 52 Mage.
A few tips for some difficult situations that can arise during this. 1) If you pull the Shadow Hunter: Keep him targeted and sheeped the whole time. I've pulled him like 5 times and he's always been on the far left side so just make sure all your Blizzards are away from him. Kill him afterwards. This is definitely made easier if you properly use your gems and any pots you have. 2) if you pull the Witch Doctor: This one is super easy. You should have a Shoot command for your wand on your bar. If you are on the small pillar (far from the boss) you can hit almost anything from that distance. make sure to wand kill any Healing Totems that the Witch Doctor drops. Killing her after can be an issue as she heals, but just jump back and for using Frostbolt or your wand. She will eventually run out of mana and just drop totems which can be killed. 3) The second save spot jump can be super tricky. I line myeself up with the shadow on the ground and jump about a step or two after I pass the end of the shadow. If you are having a huge problem with it, use the first vase to reset the trailing mobs after the initial run. Then go back and practice the reset jump. Thanks for the video Arlaeus! Went from 48-52 and made 200g so far in the process!
AMAZING video, great explanations. I found that as UD, some of the "reset" spots had a lot of trouble with shadow mages continuing to keep aggro. Level 44 for reference. Polymorph, counterspell, and making some subtle adjustments behind the boxes did the trick
FYI, This is much easier than the Cone of Cold strat. I spent like 2 hours trying to learn the CoC strat, I got this on my 2nd try. Very easy and effective.
So it took about two hours to learn this farm, but after I got it down the xp/hr was actually insane! 42-48 in about 6 hours averaging around 100-150k/hr! Very thorough video and excellent info. Thanks for posting it!
well the pull mechanic is broken. and very little explanation about it. that you learned it in 2 hours kudos to you, but the pulls are not easily explained in any way. the most important part of the video is kinda at the mark when he said to jump back and forth to dont dis-aggro the mobs. well breaking news, it's not that easy. there are 95% of the time some stranglers still down there, either you 1) do the (dangerous) effort and pull them as well which is really inconfinient. or 2) you just do smaller pulls. to get this down to pull all mobs you need alot more knowledge than just jump back and forth 2 times and that it . lul...
I didn’t find this to be the case at all. I watched the video twice to make sure I didn’t miss anything, and then just applied it. Sucks it didn’t work out that easily though because this farm has been amazing for me.
@@scrimptv2783 I jump back and forth back and forth, the first third of the pull in 60-70% of the cases disengages. with no obvious reason to me, since sometimes they come and sometimes they disengage. it seems random to me. the other 2 thirds have stranglers almost all the time standing around and not coming with the pull (even when pulling the first mob in the chain so they should all come...) either you found something out by coincidence and feels natural to you but wont get mentioned in this video here or I do something obvious wrong. thanks for responding anyway.
When you fail your jump from wall to wall and you know that you cant make it up again without diing. There is also a save spot on the very left rock when you look direction north.(its the right rock at 24:49) If thats the rock width: [_______], stand here [_x____], sit down and wait. Sometimes its hard to get them off you and 1 or 2 mobs will remain. just frostnova and run/jump to the next save spot and restart your procedure. Even you have to start killing the zombies from 0 its still better then diing ;). Thank you for the great video Arlaeus :)
I saw the other guys video a couple days ago and I was working on it for a few hours yesterday. I got the killing rotation down really well. You just gave me a few solutions to the places I was having trouble!! Thank you so much!
Amazing video! Thank you for all the info about this strategy, i'm having some success with it (still learning). One question, once the pull is finished, how do i get back to the entrance to reset it?
I know this vid is a few months old now, but just wanted to say how helpful and clear it actually is. Been leveling my first mage in Classic since Vanilla and was hyped to try this out when I got to 42. Got there tonight and was able to get going right away with hardly any problems at all on my first try surprisingly. Really couldn't ask for a better tutorial on the method!
I did it !! Took about 20-30 tries at lvl43. But damn those first 2 reset points behind the boxes are tricky with pats coming in. You need to reposition yourself from side to side of the boxes and try losing agro from mobs who are sometimes looking at you from both sides one by one. They can see you when you're in the crevice between the boxes as well so keep that in mind. Also minor speed on boots helps alot, and some mana and hp pots. You should wait till your shield has about 5-10 seconds left on cooldown because you want to use it again when approaching the reset points, you can use it before or after u blink the last distance. And do blink, it makes it easier. At the aoe part try to agro the packs of zombies quickly after eachother else you're gonna have a hard time getting them packed closely. Also if you're running low on mana and your evocation is on cd just stop aoeing and do the jump a few more times to give yourself some time to replenish mana. Tnx for the video and tips !!
As a gnome (42) who just started doing this. I keep constantly getting stuck in the GY trying to get up on the ledge reset spot and die. having to reset and start over. Is there a trick to jump up there effectively?
On the stairs facing the boss there is a little cubby on the right that you can run in and jump up on the platform. It takes a little more time than the corner but its safer. One warning is that if a caster is close enough they can still cast on you but after jumping up you can just run around the side to the same corner and hide behind the statue until the reset.
Just recently started this on a 42 male undead, 1477 HP and 3465 mana, and have some tips for ya from trial and error. First safe spot I recommend running up the left side and sitting behind the boxes instead of going through the middle or blinking towards the rear. The LOS for the mobs definitely took some practice, but don't be afraid to wiggle around in there and use a /sit macro. I've also ice blocked in there a few times and that somehow reset aggro a couple times. Next safe spot, you can nova snap nova the two packs, but I prefer the mount speed and just run pass them. Blink into that safe spot and wiggle around, making careful note of the pats. And the mad dash to the last spot is pretty straight forward. Took me 2h 30m to get to the last safe spot on my first try, 23m for my second, and was able to get there on my third attempt in 8 minutes. Keep at it and don't give up, I promise it gets better, and that sweet sweet xp is so worth it! GL!
@@arlaeus9491 Also I vote for you to put up some old video compilation of when you were learning all these amazing things - and humorist failings on your way. ;) Us mere mortals need the buff that would give. he he
@@Inniebin Hey man, I sort of had the same problem. It's a weird LOS thing when you try to cast it on the mountain, sometimes it's too low and it messes up. Try casting it here instead, on the edge: imgur.com/a/wRV7nUu In my experience, it's just as effective with no accidents.
@@arlaeus9491 No,it's just not possible, soon as you aggro 4-5 caster you just die, since you didn't do the video at lvl 42 you have no credit or credibility thats it's even possible to do it at 42.I'm sorry my dude but nice vid but not at 42.
Great video, have done 3 successful pulls now and am getting the hang of it. The pit to the left of the boss is my bane atm lol. I keep coming back to the video to study the niche situations and or issues like mob deaggro and blizz placements.
Feels so good when you get things like this down. Same with Tribute runs as a hunter. Although I do consider that quite a bit more challenging. Some advice: It gets way easier reaching GY at 43.
Great guide! Just wanted to comment regarding trying this in SoD: Most of the mobs in the pack can only be slowed by Blizzard once, if at all, so it isn't anywhere near as smooth and easy as this vid. Instead, you can use Living Bomb to kill them. Cast it 3 or 4 times then make the jump, cast it 3 or 4 times, then jump again, repeat. You will likely kill many of them on the steep slope so you won't be able to loot them, but if you are concerned about the loot, just practice your timing and plan for where they're going to be when Living Bomb detonates.
Just watched video try this tip out as you run through the graveyard when you get to witch doctor to start the event open the graves to your right only. hide behind the vase in the back of the room wait for reset mount up shimmy up the wall wand boss back n fourth dropping aggro for 4-5 minutes or until when you start combat no more graves get open by the boss then run around the boss like you did r1 flame strike the stairs to boss and another r1 fs right as they turn the corner and they will be so clumped it's free I took my mage from 42-53 in about 6-7 hours
This is a great tip! It feels like it's slow, but it clumps them up and is 100% safe. I just spent 2,5 hours getting my first successfull GY clear, @lvl 42, holy moly even just getting to the GY is a challenge in it self. Also thanks to the wonderful people who wrote about the safespot if you fall down, while aoe'ing, at least it's easy to get a do-over:) Helped me lots!
Getting every part right except for that jump at 5:35. It's been the only thing stopping half my runs because I miss the ledge and fall into the little gap. I don't know if being an undead mage affects anything but I have never been able to escape out of the hole. Any advice?
@@alectai9730 I died many times to that too, so I just ran along the ledges close the boss. The boss usually hit me with one shadow bolt but it's irrelevant. at 5:34 in the video you can see the small gap im using, right below target's target icon (UD male).
Used my level 60 BiS fury warrior to clear to GY, then brought it mage to clear at level 41. then logged warrior out and did full GY at level 41. 40 would be possible as well, but it takes about 200 jumps due to all the resists.
I just tested at level 40. Got it on the first try with a lot of mana to spare. I've done this with a mage before, though. Only a 45 blood drinker wouldn't die... so when it was all that was left, I jumped and reset.
@@tonibaroni What I could gain by BS'ing here is beyond me. It's perfectly possible and not even hard if you already know how to do it. I just made sure I had some dungeon blues and eagle greens.

Love the video, just wish you had 1 more thing to say about when killing scarabs. I always get one of two things happening after ice block -> frost nova and starts blizzard, patrol ALWAYS comes and gets aggro'd and/or always 1 scarab that doesnt get nova'd, just 1. Anything or tips for this?

Regarding the scarab pull: what is the macro you use @20:18? Can you share it please? Moving back to the GY part of the video, I have two questions: 1) When I am clicking the graves to release the zombies, I seem to open them more slowly than you, thereby resulting in more contact time with them prior to hitting the safe spot. Are you using a macro that allows to open the graves more quickly? 2) Sometimes when I click the graves, my click results in looting the grave which of course also slows me down and leaves me with more contact time with the mobs before I reach the safe space. Do you have any advice? Thank you for the amazing videos. You are my First Search when it comes to Mage AoE farming guides.
I noticed that too, the safe spot has to block their LoS (Line of Sight) so for instance with the blocks, tuck in close to the block and avoid their sight and they’ll reset. The fountain is a TERRIBLE “safe spot”. Don’t use it.
As a Troll Mage. I can say I had major problems with the safespots. I decided to try Savory Deviate Delight to turn myself into a Human. Now I'm going through every time as a 42 level.
Tried this with my alt Mage and it's definitely one of the easiest way to level from lvl 42 to lvl 50+, and this comes from a person who sucks playing as a mage. Easily the hardest part in this is to actually get there through all that trash without dying. (most of my deaths were caused by those Shadowcasters, even while inside reset spot) It took me almost couple dozen attempts to get through the trash, but the actual killing part was child's play and I managed to get it right on my 1st attempt. Thanks for sharing this. Now I don't have to level via repetitive questing nor pay buy myself into one of those incredibly expensive Maraudon boosts ( 20g/reset, just wtf?!? ).
Had the same issue, but another post by Andrew Small below provided the answer: - finally, THAT jump, you know the one I mean at the safe spot in the graveyard room. You don't get much time to try before you get mashed. The jump is actually simple, DON'T run forward as you jump! Press jump and THEN press W to go forward. I've spent so much time trying to jump onto that damn ledge in that graveyard when you enter. But in the end i finally learned how to do it. Sadly this is the only mage aoe run i learned to do consistently. SM, ZG were 30% effective... i panic what can I say. But thank you for taking the time to make it (btw I blame myself for not doing the runs well). I stoped playing a year ago. Eas fun playing classic since I couldn't while I was younger. Best wishes to you and hope you are doing well!
this video changed how i aoe farm zf at 60 for gold. i was stuck in the past with big nova pulls and resists. Right now my best time is 15 minutes including grave trash, zum'rah, and scarabs. GOOD JOB
Missed one of the most important parts, which was the talents. Any chance you can add that when you have a chance please. Otherwise another great video! Appreciate all the time you put into your videos.
Sorry I accidentally deleted that part while editing (major fail on my part haha). I can’t add them into the video unfortunately but it’s full frost with skipping frost bolts, frostbite, shatter and winters chill. Then arcane to pick up clearcasting once you get hit enough
@@arlaeus9491 Thank you for a great video, but still a little confused about the talent points... can you please use wow heads talent calculator classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/mage , fill up the talents there for lvl 42 and lets say 54, create links to both and put them into description section below the video? This way we will know exactly where to put our starting points in and how to proceed from there. Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much for the video I rerolled mage after watching it. Finally got my first ZF GY clear lvl 42. Getting the pathing down was the hardest part. I was having trouble with jumping back and forth on the ledge it require precision. However I put minor speed enchant on my boots and that made all the difference in the world. It gives you room for error. I also used mirthril spurs on another pair of boots and I rarely have gotten stunned..
PSA: If you use flamestrike, there's a HIGH chance of not hitting enough mobs, and therefore that pack will reset. Use level 1 blizzard to hit all of them at once and guarantee no reset.
I will say, i'm really appreciative of this guide. I will also say i'm really disappointed you didnt include the zombie management and getting to the safe platform. I'm having an extremely difficult time figuring that out. Once I got it I'll be fine, but, definitely no reason to have excluded it.
Get your alt to same croup . After done leave mage to instance and log off. Log alt and you now should be leader and reset instance. Log mage and you should be at start of instance and can do it again.
Have used your guidance to level a mage. Quested/Grinded 1-15 in no time at all. I went Stockades boosts 15-28 then SM Arm/Cath 1 pulls 28-40. Started Mara at 40. Currently sitting at level 41 with my mount. 1 day 19 hours played time. Can’t wait to hit level 44 so I can start my zombie training!
These farms are so dumb i'm shocked they don't nerf these. (and to everyone saying it's classic no changes one of the farms I used to do got nerfed 2 days after I did it with a few buddies)
I find the hardest part being the grave opening...Everytime after i run from behind the pots to open the graves it's right here 3:59 where everything goes to shit because my nova doesnt get them all cuz some are still at the boss so they run back and beat the shit out of me and what's worse is the safespot jump. If you fail it then you will 100% die and that spot is cancerous to jump up to. Edit: I'm an idiot and didn't realize that i should not open the last graves with the other zombies still active, i got it down now pretty much but its quite annoying when you pull them and some of them start evading and reset. doesnt happen too often tho.
Managed this run on my level 46 Warlock, died once on the way to the Graveyard but had my Soulstone up. The Dead Heroes are immune to Shadow Damage, so you'd prefer not getting those. Still need to clean out the run... getting to the Graveyard was the hardest part of it all. Since oyu don't do real AoE but instead just DoT things up, you don't need to pull the whole place in 1 go. Took me about 20 minutes to kill all zombies the first time.
@@Stompy1984 Hey, Did a grave run with a Warlock. You can also search for videos with Warlock GY. But it will never be efficient afaik. You have no way to stack them up. You could maybe go deep into demo and use Void Bubble and insta get a new one. But most likely too much dmg. No slow, no Bubble makes things uneffectiv. Plz proof me wrong. Btw. i used Void bubble to get to the graves and it was relativ easy after some tries. regards.
I watched your video twice before I attempted it. It is really, really hard at 42... had lots of deaths. Took around 1.5 days to get from 42 to 43 but this was in between work when working from home. However, once I got to 43 it changed instantly, perfect runs and got to 44 in like an hour. The mobs at the beginning don't aggro as much so it's a lot easier to get to gy which is the main cause of death in general with this method. Thanks for the video and for explaining everything!
Tall as trolls are i had to use Noggenfogger (quest available at lvl 44) as suggested which works perfectly fine. After few tries i'm now able to reliably reach the "kill the boss" phase. Missed some of the mobs at first and had problem to put blizzard on the sweet spot. Need few more tries to get it. Thanks for the awesome video.
@5:56 - This is going to sound dumb, but before attempting for the first time practice that jump (or even the jumps and loops around the perimeter of the GY). It looks simple, but if you aren't used to it, it's easy to miss and fall. I tried to do it with the pull and got splatted pretty fast :) And also, thanks for the video and extremely detailed tutorial - this is great! I can't wait till I get it down perfectly.
This is an outstanding guide and extremely well done! I'm a lvl 42 trying to do this, and I have to say Arlaeus makes it look way easier than it actually is. This is a very high risk, high reward way of getting xp/gold. It takes about 5 minutes to get to zombie area if you do it cleanly (again, lvl 42). It takes another 2-3 minutes to set up the zombies. Zombie dazes you? Gotta restart. Miss a jump? Gotta restart. Zombies make it through blizzard due to spell batching? Gotta hope they don't get too close and hit you, if so you get dazed/instant killed. Bad luck with pat critting you at the worst times? Shield gone, dazed...gotta restart. After about 5-6 hours of trying this I've found almost every single way not to do this. Problem now is getting my blizzard in the right spot, but zombies come in at different points and some walk all the way through the blizzard without getting touched by it and it throws everything off. Just to reiterate: OUTSTANDING guide, the best there is. Just don't think it'll be as easy as everyone says it is.
Since I wrote this I have gotten more efficient at getting to zombies, so takes about 4 mins to get there as long as there are no LOS issues with the reset points. Takes about 1 min to set up zombies. And about 6-8 minutes to kill them (granted I go slower and only do 1 blizzard cast per jump back and forth). Total run time with no issues is about 16 minutes at lvl 42.

I appreciate the host but I wanted to say that I appreciate the videos and use you as a primary source for any farming content I need to learn. Thank you and keep up the good work!

@@rappenable less than 15 deaths, thats reasonable. It only takes a few. The thing with this farm is there's multiple ways to do it, each much different to complete. The easiest is just use cone of cold on the floor and run in a circle. But takes a bit longer

Oh man thank you
mind doing a screenshot? Can't figure this one out.
A few things I learned from starting this at lvl 42 and from tips picked up in other comments:
- If you die a LOT, don't worry, as long as you're improving you'll get there.
This vid will show you how to jump onto the wall
th-cam.com/video/2BKLbd56C8A/w-d-xo.html
- if you're aggroing the boss in the scarab room and he won't reset, use the safe spot referred in this video, then jump up to the crack in the wall, quickly jump down on to the other side of the wall, run forward and take a left at the end of the wall and jump onto the box on the ground.
Some tips:
1) For races that are too tall to use the safe spots and need consumables, you have another option besides noggenfoggers (which aren't available until level 44).
You make pretty decent gold as well.
about how long would you say it took you to get those 10 levels
25:48
There is another reset spot that I just found, after dieying like 10 times by failng the jumps :L
If you fall at the spot where you jump back and forth, there are 3 stones, stand in between the middle one and the one at the wall.
Enemies will evade. So if you fail the jump, you can hide and reset the attempt without having nova / blink through them
thank you so much
Thanks!
I'm confused - I see the two blocks clearly at 25:54, but where is the reset spot? on the ground between them, on the tip on one of them, somewhere else?
ur awesome for giving credit to the guy who discovered this
Yeah I made this, but I believe he had issues finding my video.
It'd be nice to get credit.
Unless I'm mistaken, I posted the first vid of this method
@@galdanith I think I got to it around mid feb.
@@justbeagreen206 pretty sure I was the first one to do this.
@@MauiWowie51 So wheres the video to prove you claim
Thank you Tiny Elly, I appreciate it!!! Glad you're getting down the runs!
Except for the talent build...lol
I think leaving the death in there was a great choice, makes my countless deaths much less frustrating. You rule dude!
Nice recommendation!!
Are the reset spots (especially the first one) only working for gnomes. I'm a human level 32 and cannot test this right now so i was wondering if you or anyone else knows.
@@McITBOX I did it on a human female Mage and it works. I also did the first spot on a Night Elf Druid and it works too.
Love this!!!! Thank you. Have some trouble pulling that first mob but after dying a bunch at 42, 43 was a ton easier
This made me excited to start leveling my mage again, will definitely be trying this out!
Nice man do it!!
AMAZING video, great explanations.
I found that as UD, some of the "reset" spots had a lot of trouble with shadow mages continuing to keep aggro. Level 44 for reference. Polymorph, counterspell, and making some subtle adjustments behind the boxes did the trick
I found the same thing mate - will try again at 45
FYI, This is much easier than the Cone of Cold strat.
@@scrimptv2783 I jump back and forth back and forth, the first third of the pull in 60-70% of the cases disengages.
with no obvious reason to me, since sometimes they come and sometimes they disengage. it seems random to me.
the other 2 thirds have stranglers almost all the time standing around and not coming with the pull (even when pulling the first mob in the chain so they should all come...)
either you found something out by coincidence and feels natural to you but wont get mentioned in this video here or I do something obvious wrong.
thanks for responding anyway.
So he explains that you can’t be on the long one that goes to the boss or they will reset
This is so hard to master lol
After a full day of grinding 43 to 49 this is fantastic
When you fail your jump from wall to wall and you know that you cant make it up again without diing. There is also a save spot on the very left rock when you look direction north.(its the right rock at 24:49) If thats the rock width: [_______], stand here [_x____], sit down and wait. Sometimes its hard to get them off you and 1 or 2 mobs will remain. just frostnova and run/jump to the next save spot and restart your procedure. Even you have to start killing the zombies from 0 its still better then diing ;). Thank you for the great video Arlaeus :)

@@matshepherd118 well im glad im not the only one xD try again around 46+
This is annoying as fuck. Back to slow ass quest leveling I guess.
Remember, that jump, along with most AoE farming, is so much easier with minor movement speed on boots.
Oh crap yes I forgot to mention the minor run speed! Definitely have that everyone if you don't already!
Took alot of practice at 42 but by the time i was 43 i had it nailed, brilliant tutorial!
Finally got my first run done at lvl 42 after 8 attempts thanks a lot man!
Awesome video!!! Though you mentioned early on that you would go over gear and talents at the end but you never did. Can you at least write that up?
What are the talents??
GL!
So far at lvl 42 and 2h of attempts I have 0XP and 1 mill deaths...lol
Hahaha it takes practice but you’ll get it!

Interesting Michael thank you very much!!
LOL this works, thanks mate!

You are my First Search when it comes to Mage AoE farming guides.
at 42 mobs just continually aggro to me in safe spots, making it impossible to mount up
I noticed that too, the safe spot has to block their LoS (Line of Sight) so for instance with the blocks, tuck in close to the block and avoid their sight and they’ll reset. The fountain is a TERRIBLE “safe spot”. Don’t use it.
Do you have plans to make video about Scarabs for solo mage? Would be useful as personally I'm getting instance locked by doing only GY.
As a Troll Mage. I can say I had major problems with the safespots. I decided to try Savory Deviate Delight to turn myself into a Human. Now I'm going through every time as a 42 level.
Ya dude, I can't get the second one to work at all.
Simon Try the fish bro :)
Super helpful video!!! Your videos are of great quality and you explain things sooo well. tytyty
The most op spell in the game is named after the company that made it “blizzard”
Tried this with my alt Mage and it's definitely one of the easiest way to level from lvl 42 to lvl 50+, and this comes from a person who sucks playing as a mage.
Easily the hardest part in this is to actually get there through all that trash without dying. (most of my deaths were caused by those Shadowcasters, even while inside reset spot)
It took me almost couple dozen attempts to get through the trash, but the actual killing part was child's play and I managed to get it right on my 1st attempt.
Thanks for sharing this.
Now I don't have to level via repetitive questing nor pay buy myself into one of those incredibly expensive Maraudon boosts ( 20g/reset, just wtf?!? ).
I mess up the jump at 4:04 almost every time.
Had the same issue, but another post by Andrew Small below provided the answer:
- finally, THAT jump, you know the one I mean at the safe spot in the graveyard room. You don't get much time to try before you get mashed. The jump is actually simple, DON'T run forward as you jump! Press jump and THEN press W to go forward. Point yourself slightly to the right as you do it. 2 hops and you'll be up!
I ve studied your method while leveling to 42 and was able to get it first try. Cheers sir for the amazing content.
i keep getting a mob casting shadowbolt at me when trying to clear the gy
I've spent so much time trying to jump onto that damn ledge in that graveyard when you enter. But in the end i finally learned how to do it. Sadly this is the only mage aoe run i learned to do consistently. SM, ZG were 30% effective... i panic what can I say. But thank you for taking the time to make it (btw I blame myself for not doing the runs well). I stoped playing a year ago. Eas fun playing classic since I couldn't while I was younger. Best wishes to you and hope you are doing well!
Sometimes I wonder why I rolled warrior. Mages are so broken sometimes
I mean if you raid with a warrior you do waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more dps on bosses than a mage could ever dream of.
this video changed how i aoe farm zf at 60 for gold. i was stuck in the past with big nova pulls and resists.
Right now my best time is 15 minutes including grave trash, zum'rah, and scarabs. GOOD JOB
Word of the Day: Disaggregated.
That's a nice word
Thank you for aways making such straight forward and honest content.
@@DJAcidon Just use the normale aoe mage guides, this works perfectly. JokerD guide for example
Use level 1 blizzard to hit all of them at once and guarantee no reset.
omg i did this a few years ago and got it down. came back to classic...did they really "fix" the safe spots?!!?!?!
would not recommend this at lvl 42, atleast be 44, made it easyer for me atleast,
I will say, i'm really appreciative of this guide. I will also say i'm really disappointed you didnt include the zombie management and getting to the safe platform. I'm having an extremely difficult time figuring that out. Once I got it I'll be fine, but, definitely no reason to have excluded it.
Silly question but what is the best way to get out, once you'r finished
Get your alt to same croup . After done leave mage to instance and log off. Log alt and you now should be leader and reset instance. Log mage and you should be at start of instance and can do it again.
Excellent, love your detail in the videos!
Thanks for the shoutout buddy!
ARLAEUS YOU ARE THE MAN!! I did wipe for about 2 hours but then I got it down and omg its so amazing thank you 🙏🏻
18:27 you skip over your leveling up and barley have enough mana to finish the kill
Yums technically you can jump back and forth indefinitely to generate mana passively or wait for cooldowns, so it doesnt matter
well he does have evo up so what you on about
Have used your guidance to level a mage. Quested/Grinded 1-15 in no time at all. I went Stockades boosts 15-28 then SM Arm/Cath 1 pulls 28-40. Started Mara at 40. Currently sitting at level 41 with my mount. 1 day 19 hours played time. Can’t wait to hit level 44 so I can start my zombie training!
this guy reminds me of Hobbs. One of my all time favorit lvling by paladin. With tips and tricks aswell from classic/tbc =D
Thank you man :)
Hey everybody, Hobbs here.
Man thats' why I loved classic and old content.
Creators just wanting to make your life easier or show you a trick
@@tauceti8341 dude stop talking shit - ur not hobbs.
I was able to get from 42-54 in roughy 12 hours played lol thanks a ton for making this.
Dude this farm is insane
These farms are so dumb i'm shocked they don't nerf these. (and to everyone saying it's classic no changes one of the farms I used to do got nerfed 2 days after I did it with a few buddies)
@@dillonjarman1270 - Chill. That spot you had likely did not exist in vanilla.
@@27Zangle It actually did the only problem is you needed a lot of people to make it effective which is why I was shocked they nerfed.
@@dillonjarman1270 - Did it? Interesting. I doubt they are going to nerf these runs though. It would cause a lot of upset.
@@27Zangle what cause people have to actually play the game they'll be upset? Oh well.
Edit: I'm an idiot and didn't realize that i should not open the last graves with the other zombies still active, i got it down now pretty much but its quite annoying when you pull them and some of them start evading and reset. doesnt happen too often tho.
the 1st safe spot doesnt work as a troll even if you sit
@@zeonos yea deviate fish is the only way cuz you cant do the noggin exlir quest til 44
Incoming ghost walk at 25:55..... awesome video.
So you just did a few zombies then? Like 3 then dot and jump back and forth with a imp
You can pull as many as you want/dare. Takes quite some jumps though.
Did the while GY in 2 pulls most of the time.
26:06 that face, when you laugh at your own mistakes, lololol good job dude.
Thanks for the awesome video.
nice i was just watchin the other guys vid
Nice man! Thank you for watching mine as well :)
Good luck man keep practicing you'll get it!
how I leveled my hunter. much faster on a mage though indeed.
hey what skills u use?
@@keenluri you could use auto attack if you were into it.
The jump is what does it.
A lock could do it too with dots
I guess trap and volley will do a bit, just harder than mage
you used wing clip or concussive shot at all?
hell more importantly how did you pull them
This is an outstanding guide and extremely well done!
