  • WAIT! Don't teach the ABCs! (at least not in that order). Teaching preschoolers alphabet recognition is nice and easy! In fact, when you teach preschoolers letters and letter sounds in this special way, reading simply flows naturally.
I am a certified Teacher and a Reading Specialist who now homeschools. I have taught SO many children how to read - and this method makes it happen so naturally. When teaching children alphabet recognition, begin by teaching them their name letters and the letter sounds that those letters make. Teach them the lowercase form, then introduce the uppercase, and finally the sounds. Once they really have those letters down, you are ready to teach the rest of the alphabet!
Here is the order for teaching letter recognition:
    1. s, a, t, i, p, n
    2. c, k, e, h, r
    3. m, d, g, o
    4. l, f, b, q, u
    5. j, z, w
    6. v, y, x.
In this video I share with you exactly how to teach your preschooler alphabet recognition, the order for doing this, how to teach the letters of the alphabet and how to teach letter sounds.

This is awesome 😊 and I just love your site, I work at a daycare with toddlers and sometimes preschool and some of the preschoolers are having a hard time with spelling or recognizing the letters of their name and I'm going to try this strategy 😊. I want to thank you for the awesome and wonderful resources I pray I can help the kids retain the information 😊❤️❤️❤️❤️
