Hi Ludmila, I got around to making this pie today. It is amazing. Sweetness from the cream and onions with savory bacon. Something simple can have complex flavor. I have a spring form pan but did not use so baked in cast iron skillet cooked bacon and onions in. Thank you for bringing your family and heritage recipes to us.

I made this for a side dish for dinner tonight. I paired it with grilled steak. It was so delicious. Will add this to my list of favorites. We enjoyed it with a sprinkle of sharp cheddar cheese. Just loved how simple of a recipe to follow. Thank you so much 😊

I grew up on German and Polish foods. Needless to say that this pie was one of my Grandmother’s favorites. The Polish touch was grated farmers cheese instead of butter. I no longer bother with pie crust since I’ve had a wheat allergy for almost 30 years. I can’t wait to try this recipe!
Thank you for sharing your recipe. I made my onion bacon pie but I added green peppers, mushrooms and nutritional yeast. The onion bacon pie came out perfect and was delicious! I had it for dinner and I ate half of it already 😂😂😂
Three days I made this onion bacon pie but added mushrooms, green peppers and nutritional. I loved this pie so much that I ate half of it and then the other half the next day. Now I've another onion bacon pie in the oven and I can't wait to eat half of this pie too 😅
I'm back at it again, making another onion bacon pie but adding mushrooms, green peppers, garlic and nutritional yeast to my onion bacon pie. It's in the oven now and I can't wait to eat a slice or two of this delicious pie. I hope I don't eat half of it as I've done previously 😂😂😂

Served your cheesy bread rolls to my Vancouver family when they visited and they were so impressed that I have sent them a link to your recipe. I plan on cooking this in an 8 x 8 dish and then cutting it into squares as an appetizer for a potluck party..

Looks yummy! But definitely not a cholesterol savvy dish 🤔 For a slimmer version…the option is using only eggs with maybe some milk and no added cream and butter ( on top of the bacon, echo can be switched to Canadian bacon- keeping the same amazing taste, but with less calories and fat) !

No cheese, indeed! This recipe is very close to a traditional German Zwiebelkuchen. I just left out the crust 😉
