This card is a blessing for F2P players. Almost all my opponents have lvl 14-15 cards when I have lvl 12 cards. I used all my resources to bring recruits to level 15 amidst my lvl 12 deck. I can now actually play trophy range and push, only because of recruits
I find it funny how they felt like adding a gang of guards would be underwhelming for a new card... and then they added the Goblin Gang which was 2 cards put into one of the same rarity lol
Idk what people are complaining about with "no placement skill". Like what about a golem or rg or normal giant is a skillfull placement? How much thought goes into where you place your balloon? Half the cards in this game require no "skill" on where to place them, it's knowing when to use them thats difficult.
When placing a giant you might wanna consider whether you wanna place the giant in the back and build the push behind it, or build your push from the back and place the giant in front. Placing it in the back allows you to cycle back to it faster and use it when your opponent is out of counters but placing the support troops first allows you to cycle back to them first and have a more supported giant. When it comes to the balloon you wanna consider if your opponent has a building or not, as you can place the balloon at the very edge of the arena so it avoids buildings better, but that would make it further away from the tower. Placing it at the bridge makes it closer to the tower but easier to kite as well
It’s purely because of defense. Clash royale and a large part of the fanbase hate highly defensive cards. This is why barbarian hut has been killed by supercell, it was a very defensive card that would easily defend pushes with basically any placement, and recruits are the same.
Searching my mind for examples of ANY expensive card that hasn't made me a little salty at one point. Usually it's pekka because I just love her but these days it feels different. Honestly I completely agree despite me personally not minding xbow, I think lightning is like "yeah, fair." When I get hit by it
What I’ve learned watching gratz videos is that balance changes will never be based on healthy usage and win rate stats bringing creativity, skill, and variety into the game. Balance changes are based on one of two things: 1. The opinions of the top few content creators and top few players in the world (justifiably so I have no problems with this they understand the game better than the devs I think) 2. And unfortunately this is the more used reason. The opinions of low ladder players who react like a toddler every time a card is a half decent counter to pekka, mk, e barbs, hog rider, or firecracker
To be fair, the devs likely want a card to not be terribly annoying across all ladders, and as far as I know low to mid ladder makes up around the majority, plus an online multyplayer gain always wants to appeal to new players to suststain its growth. But yea the nerfs for recruits felt kinda weird becausr they were more a synergizer and not the direct problem, but from what it seems once a card gets a bad rep its more likely to get nerfed even if objectively its balance. Plus I gotta consider that mid ladder is probably gonna be running same to similar decks for a while (assuming they are F2P or investing in only a few cards to save money), so if your setup gets hard countered by a popular card then its gonna suck for as long as that card it popular, which only increases frustration. Though I realize I might contradict myself since the same mid ladder players might also not have the resources to swap to whats meta, so maybe this is more of an issue for higher mid ladder, though im not really sure about anything I havnt played in a while.
zappies do not seem like a midladder menace card to me. maybe that's jst simply cuz they aren't, but they aren't on the same lvl of annoying as mk or firecracker
They’re not bad but the only place they’ll really shine is in a deck with A: a solid tank to hide behind and B: bonus elixir support. Which boils down to either stalling till 2x elixir or running the collector in the back. 3 of them is a really solid support unit for a tank like PEKKA or MK. 6 of them though, that’s a hard counter to things existing. They’re almost permastunned.
@Leon.K69 well he wouldn't be so annoying if I didn't play against him in every damn match, like 80% of players I play against have him and it's super annoying when I don't have any Evolutions at all

Here's even one such example of a change that to this day people that used this weapon combo STILL wish for its return. Sandman + Flying Guillotine combo. The Sandman when it was first added to the game all the way back on February 24th, 2009 (practically around the period when unlocks were being first introduced to the game) it was capable of completely stunning someone if the baseball were to hit someone even when they were under the effects of an Ubercharge (that's invulnerability for anyone that hasn't played Team Fortress 2) and this stat was one that stuck with the Sandman for months then on August 2nd, 2012 the Flying Guillotine was added to the game and with it came with stats that while innocent by themselves, they were extremely synergetic with not just the stats of the Sandman but also another weapon though the Sandman was what it was seen the majority of the time paired with. I wanna see them have an April fools update that only last for April fools day. Just pick one card and make it absolutely broken. Like inferno tower and dragon start with full beam instead of building up, or three musketeers could be placed anywhere in the map.
I find Royal Recuits a bit more tedious to deal with compared to most other cards. But, with them being a 7 elixir swarm card that covers the arena I think it's quite fitting for them to be a little more annoying than the rest. They're also a currently very balanced card so I like their presence in the game.

8:53 Smartest Clash Royale player in all my 8 YEARS of playing RIGHT THERE (the joke was TOO GOOD) 🤣🤣
ive always loved royal recruits i only used them cause they looked cooland i was so happy when they had a evolution
nearly Impossible to beat if the card has evo, it is paired with goblinstein and royal piggies.
If it’s interesting, the history of graveyard would be fun, it seems like an interesting card to me
I find Royal Recuits a bit more tedious to deal with compared to most other cards.
But, with them being a 7 elixir swarm card that covers the arena I think it's quite fitting for them to be a little more annoying than the rest. They're also a currently very balanced card so I like their presence in the game.
Do A History Of Clone Or Furnace

Take a shot every time Gratz says "In Clash Royale History".
Recruits are hated because they're very easy to use, and are extremely versatile. Amazing on defense, but can also add a lot of pressure on offense
Best game of all time. The amount of times they change a single card to make the whole game work good is amazing
glad my favorite card got a video
