The damage to the towers didn't mean much. 3 seconds tornado could activate the tower with most melee troops

Redownloaded Clash, got demolished by people using double evolutions, champions, and ridiculous new tower things. Immediately uninstalled.
This game is fundamentally ruined beyond repair. Still love watching your videos.

As an OG player, it’s good to see these retrospective videos. That middle school nostalgia hits. And after getting back into the game since late 2023, after stopped playing after 2020, it’s crazy how they altered things so long ago and never reverted it back to former glory

I really love Tornado because it is one of very few cards that allows creativity in your play. Sure, there are generic use cases for it too, but 95% of cards have very clear use cases, and using them outside of those cases is asking to lose. but Tornado feels different. The possibilities with this card feel endless. My favorite deck of all time was a pekka splashnado deck, and though it wasnt a good deck, it was so much fun because I could tornado ranged troops right to my pekka to instantly kill them before the enemy placed their tank or swarm. Caught them off guard every time.

Please read this. Things you need to do to make clash royal a normal balanced game.
1. Nerf the tornado (New tower troops have indirectly greatly strengthened the tornado) A spell of 3 elixirs that can activate the main tower with almost any opponent's card, especially the main tower with new tower troops is very problematic (for example, it can pull a balloon and a miner to the main tower where it won't do anything (5 ELIXIR TRADE), it does more demage than a snowball (kills skeletons, bets), it goes with all trick cards (magic archer, exe, drill), if you are faster than your opponent and he doesn't manage to catch your tower tank, there is no problems because the tornado will return a card from the opponent's tower to the opponent's building, it causes demage on the tower, it delays the time until it gets evolutions, the player can also move his own cards by moving yours towards it (skill players also do that), the only spell that can capture all three towers and do damage to each one. The only way to solve this is to reduce the radius of the tornado or put it at 4 elixir although 4.5 would be the right price for it but that is impossible.
2. The second thing is to reduce the range of new tower troops, not helta, because they can have a thousand helta when no one will even touch them the whole match because it is impossible to reach them, especially if the opponent has a tornado and attracts everyone to the tower in the middle, and sometimes he doesn't need a tower as they are strong.
3. The new void card is the same on 4 elixirs. The card is exactly as if it was made for tornado expensive decks. I can't know when the opponent will throw void on for example the little prince, and when he will be hit by the first shot even if I throw skeletons to reduce the damage for the second shot the little prince will die and I will be minus 1 elixir and there is one more shot, not to mention the cycle decks whose lt is the only defense for air. With musketeer, wizard, exe you will be 3 4 elixir in the minus, not to mention that can do more damage than a missile.
4. Put bomber evolution on 2 bikes as you want to do.
5. Accelerate evolutions, there are some players who play only one deck and in that deck they don't have two evolutions and they can't play equally, just a little faster.
Nerf tesla, bomb tower...
Once you do that, the game will be normal until then, just go through it day by day.

Despite its strength at times, some of my favorite decks i used to play in CR had nado because it was so satisfying to make a skilled play with the card. With how rampant evolutions are, along with the new tower troops, i'd be more than happy to see nado left right well alone.
I hate when Supercell stated that "Offence over Defence", Like wtf.
They could have treated both Offence and Defence equally, but since Supercell is considered to be an offensive company that doesn't know the CONCEPT od what can be defended to

I think this card, and this channel, show that no tool in a game exists in a vacuum, especially a team game (as in the 8 cards) where synergy is a huge X-Factor, where if a tool has enough versatility it doesnt have to be conventionally strong to be great, but of course,is difficult to balance it makes other things stronger, really interesting stuff

I always knew tornado was a good card since the day it was released. The ability to move a card was completely new and opened the door for so many possibilities. I remember trying to make it work in a hog rider deck. The idea was to move things like mini pekka out of the way to get a hit. I tried to use it for the last few hits needed to take the tower before the game ended as a surprise factor

I think they managed to nerf it indirectly, or buff non-tornado decks with other cards added (all after the rework)
Before Executioner, I recall Witch working surprisingly well, because the skeletons made units move in the direction of tornado.
I had a balloon tornado graveyard deck. Bowler really killed the deck tho

Tornado the only ”gimmick“-spell (or in other words a spell that isn’t meant to deal damage) that’s actually consistently viable. All the others are too niche to be viable all the time.
Well, they ain't a lot, only Tornado, Freeze, Rage (still technically works as a variant to Zap), and Clone, but yeah, still impressive

I really love the tornado, it’s always satisfying to tornado a hog rider to the kings tower as the opponent wastes their freeze expecting to get more damage on the Princess tower. Hog freeze was literally the most infuriating deck to play against when I first started clash Royale. That was before cards like princess and ice wizard even existed

I was a tornado advocate Day1
I didn't have the means to access anything above lv10 so I had no hopes of reaching top ladder but I think even launch tornado was mildly viable and it was 100% a skill issue in top players not wanting to get good with it.
Post buff I thought supercell was crazy and I was so confused why I didn't see it more, post executioner forcing players to actually learn how to use the card.
Honestly I kinda wish the executioner never existed since us small handful of players who knew tornado was busted could have enjoyedbit for longer.
The 1 tick nerf was the perfect nerf since it again forced players to "git gud"

since evolutions are turning a year old next month, you should make a video going over their impact in the game’s meta and how they’ve impacted the rates of different cards in the year-long timespan they were added.

really excited for evolved mirror where every other mirror played is +2 instead of +1, might genuinely be one of the most balanced evolutions of all time if they don't do something stupid like make evolved mirror play an evolved troop as its evo instead of the +2 thing

Phoenix is still one of the newer cards in the game. There isn’t as much to cover right now, I’d rather wait a while for history to unfold further so there’s more to tell. At the moment I’m focusing on cards from 2019 and earlier. 2020 at the latest.

I've been really pissed with the state of the game lately, how supercell has made the game essentially pay to play and everyone's favorite card in the game is the credit card

im sorry did i hear you say supercell don't like defensive metas? The game is literally 100% defence cycle decks with some chip damage, xbow, goblin barrel, gravyard, goblin drill, hog cycle and miner all pop up on your opponents tower and aim to do nothing but defend and cycle spam defence. these decks have been solid meta choices in the last 5+ years while heavy elixer cards have always been bad due to leaving you open when you drop 6/7/8 elixer. and now with evos and champs making cycle even stronger its only gotten worse cycle spam is the only way to play at a high level in a competitive match, good luck pushing with golem when you can counter it with many different 3 elixer cards like fisherman or evo archer (2 archer queens).
At this point, I kind of want to see a game mode where everything is the same rules wise, but every card has any and all nerfs gone or the cards are changed so that they are in the strongest form it has ever been in their respective history. So peak strength nado, one release Phoenix, and any other point in a cards history where they were ridiculous, might even need to make variants of the same card so you can pull off combos with other cards that can't pull off the same combos with the base OP version of their combo piece
