Your music sounds like the music in the safe room from Resident evil on PlayStation one
I know this is an old video but will this show the high pressure oil pump pressure on a 7.3 diesel
Other than the Torque app, what’s the best OBD scanner for diesel ?
It’s fine if it’s wired - might even be easier.
Coolant and oil temp should not have more then an 18 degrees difference or delta.
How do you set up an HPOP guage on torque pro
I guess thought that was just vacuum pressure from red map hose.I just bought a bluetooth obd so i haven't tested it yet.nice video man
I have both Torque Pro and the free basic Torque. But I have a major problem, the gauges are so dark I can't see them on my phone. I know the problem is not the phone because I have tried them with a different phone and have the same results. It was originally not an issue as I was just using them to check CEL codes, but now I need to view the MAP sensor. Do you know what my problem might be or how to reach Torque?
I just bought this set up... I'm new to diesels what are the normal ranges of theae gauges so I can monitor and know when im having issues..
Coolant and oil temp should not have more then an 18 degrees difference or delta.
@@fintechrepairshop thanks for the reply! What are the man pids I should be monitoring with their normal ranges like the hpop, tranny temp, etc just so I know what the actual health of my engine should be and to set alarms... Thanks in advance
what year is your powerstroke?
I'm trying to set my gauges up but I can't find the IPR valve pid and the hpop PID I downloaded the ford extra pics but no luck and I know I need those
Where do you get information about what the readouts of different sensors should be? For ex. You said the oil and coolant temp should be within 16 degrees, where did you get that information?
powerstokhelp youtube videos
Thanks for the reply. Is there not a spreadsheet with all of this info on it? :\
I don't know how you get this to work I have been trying for a while and it just keeps telling me it will not talk to my ECU
Same!!!!
If you have a sensor problem. It will not connect until you unplug bad sensor. Yeah crazy but I unplugged the bad ICP sensor and it connected.
+@@fparkhomebut how did you know which sensor was bad?
@@kidlargo1 scanner will work once you unplugged the sensor. Unplug one at at time to get correct one. My ICP had oil in it and was the first one I unplugged.
Check your fuses man make sure all your fuses are good you probably not powering up the tool
How did you get your coolant gauge to work mine says -40 its for my 2002 f250
I didn't do anything special, mine worked out of the box, no changes to stock configuration. Did you load the ford PID's?
I have read that the 7.3 doesn't send coolant temp to the PCM because mine reads -40 as well. I assume his is a 6.0 by the looks of the interior?
Yeah my 7.3 doesn't read coolant temps neither. Says -40
will it show power balance
How do you keep it from cutting the truck off while driving?
Jeez, I had the same problem. 2000 F250 7.3 PSD using BAFX OBDII w/ bluetooth.
@@bWd_WA if anybody sees this still there's a option in settings on torque pro that has a workaround
why is my voltage reading .5volts? is there a set up for volt calibrations?
The most I have ever seen reported by Torque Pro for ICP-Voltage is 3.5 Volts at WOT.
I may have missed the anwser, but... which OBD2 are you using for the diesel 6.0 ... I have bought 2 that look exactly like yours in the picture and neither work on my 2004 ford f250 6.0 ... any suggestions ??? thanks
Did you ever find one? ..I’m in the same boat now
Makes sure that all other devices afe turned off and not connected. I had sams issue, it was operator error.
Will the OBD ll stay lit green when in operation or will it flash green occasionally? Thank you to who can answer this question.
Flashes sometimes.
But I think some r different.
Some the elms are pirated
unless you're operating in cold climates your oil should be 15w-40, I'm no expert but I think you HPOP should show higher readings. I think you Injectors are not liking that lower viscosity oil. I run Rotella 15w-40 all year long hear in the windy city. I hope that helps
Most of my problems were bad dummy plugs. Fire right up now
I'm glad you were able to figure t out. Did that bring up your HPOP pressure? I still wish this app could do an injector buzz test
Fintech Repair Shop what are dummy plugs, im having issues with my 7.3 idling and running crappy until 2000rpm
Yep cant get mine to talk to the ECM either,i think some of these bluetooth OBD's are duds ????
Yes, ive used like 6, but the red and black on is working great, 17$ amazon
If your cigarette lighter fuse is blown it wont connect cause it's the same fuse as the obd port and it won't power it.
But yeah ur right some are knock off duds. I bought three b4 I got a good one
didn't think you could get boost pressure from the ecm?
The ECM needs to know the boost so it can control the waste gate.
Fintech Repair Shop Will it work on non wastegate 94-97 powerstrokes
are you able to ready codes with this device and app when an engine light come on?
Yes
Can you do a buzz test to the injectors with this app
Car gauage pro
Did all that but can't find HPOP. Any help is much appreciated.
Look for Injection Control Pressure
great thanks
what year of truck?
What Bluetooth OBD scanner are you using?
Ummm... he showed you, elm327 but ive used that once it was crap
@@Ivey0401 the elm327 wouldnt work at all for my 04 f250 6.0 , bluetooth would not even find it, any suggestions ?
Is that the LITE torque app or the paid version?
paid version
Thanks for the video. I have a new to me 2001 7.3 Excursion. I was hoping to have a display with Oil Temp right next to Coolant temp, but my coolant temp only reads -40 degrees. Your seems to work fine. Is there a trick?
Manning Grinnan I believe the coolant temp doesn’t go through the pcm so the the app doesn’t read an output. -40 is default
battery voltage should be 14.3 check your alternator its not putting out enough lol
13 to 15 volts is good. Hes fluctuating 12.6 to 13 so yes he needs a new alternator soon lol
Where do I find FMP meter on torque app?
Under Manage Custom Pids its at [FORD]FICM Main Power
Is there a torque app for iphone ?
No
What the heck is the noise in the background of your presentation?
That's the rumble of a powerstroke engine.
*Cannot connect to vehicle ECU*
2002 Ford f 350 7.3 psd
Are you connected to the ELM327 via bluetooth
@@fintechrepairshop yes
The music's got to go
Your batteries or alternator are shot.12.8 13.2 by ford standards is shot and will cause your FICM to fail.
+71usmc I was thinking the alternator was low. The batteries are 3 months old. Sometimes it goes up to 13.4V. What should the running volts be at? I just had to replace the ficm inverter board. I have a 1966 bronco with a 2G alternator upgrade that runs all day at at 14.5V.
Will it work on a 96?
OBD2 is standard on all american spec cars 1996 and newer
the early powerstrokes wont work with most scan tools ive even had a 5k dollar snap on scan tool on mine just kills the engine im also curious if this works on 95 96
tbirdpimp07 on a late model 96 yes but 95 is obd 1 and will only kill the engine.
You have to buy a good OBDll. I spent about $45 on mine and communicates perfect. The cheaper ones will lag or not communicate at all. I have a 96.
If it's a powerstroke it's going to kill the engine if it's running. Not a big deal, it'll still read whatever codes are there. It kills the 7.3 in my 96 E350 and the one in my brother's '01 F550... nothing I new alarmed about.
can you read exhaust temp on a 7.3?
Not without a standalone egt probe and guage.
Annnnd,uhhhhhh,, aaaaaand uhhhhh
#therealbrenda2
And uuuu
And, uh...Really?
5w40 is too thin for a 6.0 all ford diesels use 15w40 unless you are in freezing climates. Up until the 6.7 that is
Did you take away too long to explain anything get to the point.
1.5 or the 2.1? Which one do you have? I have a 2005 6.0
