Nostalgia is an illusion that selects good bits and pieces and discards everything else from your memory. It's good to have memories but it's better to make new ones.
@@cherub3624 There's 2 version on Steam. The remastered version which uses the dissidia models(or whatever it's called). The other is the emulated PS1 version, which is no different from the one in the vid, EXCEPT that one also had its music replaced with midi versions.
The ps1, with its pixely graphics, feels more engrossing than perfectly polished modern graphics. I feel like your imagination goes to work a bit as it tries to see past the chunky pixels, so it sucks you into the world a bit more.
@@llIlIlllII the PS1 version with upscaled resolution through emulation looks better then the Steam version and look more natural, just if people care about a clear image. The Steam version looks like a shtty mod made by an amateur, well they lost the source code for ff8 so the lack of care for the game after its released really shows. the PS1 version is still the best. There is also no decent mods, at least that i know of, for the Steam version that improves anything, like on the scale ff7 and ff9 got.
I beat FF8 for the first time recently and I fell in love with Timber's music immediately. That bass is just too damn good. Uematsu's insane man... Really appreciate this btw
@@dreamer6737 ooh your favorite of all time? Nice. I really loved it though. I get that there's a whole thing about the English translation of FF8 being off and a lot of people don't like it (along with the story being apparently rushed), but I didn't mind it. I already liked Squall when I first saw him in Kingdom Hearts, so getting to see him develop in his og game was awesome. Plus Selphie, Zell, Rinoa, Quistis, Irvine, they're all great too! And again the music's just so good (like usual). Also the junction system was really interesting, I can see though how easy it can be to break the game with it tho
This game is a game that is in my memory and this song is another song that is in my memory as well. I love it and I like it very much. Thank you for making this clip.
I think I remember this part of the story. The train mission to capture President Deling was a bust and they have to go on the run. They hide out at this place and are all bummed, shown in their various poses. Man, I need to play this game again. This game would be fantastic with a remake.
Hi, yes its the PlayStation version, however I used Duckstation to upscale the resolution, apply filtering, etc. I tried using the Steam version, but I wasn't happy with it.
@@tomdoughty1577 I feel that. 😔 I asked not only because it’s my favorite tune from 8 but there’s no extensions of this song, and that’s pretty criminal.
The tabby makes me miss my cat. Everything about this is so nostalgic.. I wish we could go back to 2000 for just a bit longer.
get a new cat>?

I'm so glad you used the PS1 version, this one is superior on all accounts.
yes, the one where squall looks the same as his fmv version
This looks like the steam version to me.

This is fantastic. The cat animation is 🤌✨ reminds me of when I would leave my games on idle just to listen to my favorite songs on repeat.
Thanks! Yeah I did the same and always had a massive soft spot for Balamb and Timber. Got any favourite places?
Nice! I have always really loved Timber. The atmosphere and especially the music are both top tier!

FF8 is my all time favorite game, played it at launch back in 2000. How was it to play through all these years later? 😊

I never noticed how Midgar-y this sounded :) thanks for the tunes

Thrown back, phew thanks, the feeling of sitting on the louge floor playing this was amazing, untill dad got home and wanted to watch TV!
Very memorable OST🎼💖😃
I love how the bass sounds in this song
ahh, the memories
9-9-99 I was counting down the days.
Back when I was actually happy. Thank you ❤
Today I learned this was a genre on TH-cam.
Good old times when games were great and the world was not insane.
it was insane we just didnt care and see it, that was a lame adult crap
I can listen to this day by day
The cats tail is banging the gong
The cat is so cute
couldn't agree more lol
Can you do an extended version of the song labeled ‘Junction’?
Hi, I'm not quite at that area yet, but I'll try and remember to record it.
Okay cool. Thanks man.@@tomdoughty1577
Rinoa casually taking a dump
Isnt this the Steam remastered version?? The character models look too sharp for it to be the ps1 version like people are saying.

Oh I see, I think people meant the ps1 version of the song, which yes, but I was just referring to the models.
I loved that cat. Hated the two boys though.
Oh love it❤😍
These vids are a great idea
love it
Ooh, the PS1 version, I've missed this.
Any chance we can get Galbadia Garden ambience as well?
Hey, maybe someday, but life is busy. I need to get back to playing through it.

Yes🎉

What a game..
Reminds me so much of Aquamarine by Santana.. LOVE this.
❤❤❤❤
I hope they make a ff8 remake like ff7
