    Have now played the prologue and chapter 1 myself and this game is a delight! My fellow players and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I cannot wait for our next session!
    This now also makes me want to pick up more legacy games! I think I now need the Pandemic one.

    Also, the game looks really fun. Having a logical progression helps the narrative a lot.

    I wonder about Player count variation between chapters. If we start the campaign with 3 players during the prologue and then move up to 5 players during the 1st and 2nd chapters only to lose those players around chapter 3 will that mess up the progression through the legacy deck? Is every chapter self contained in that regard where you decide what your player count is for the chapter on a case by case basis

      @@iankelley4631 I'd recommend against that. Granted, I've never played a Legacy game but it seems to me that it's asking for trouble with players arguing things like "Someone else made this choice for me and that effects my experience. I wouldn't have done that!".
      Ideally, it seems like Legacy games are best played with the exact same players. That is, at least until all of the "Legacy" choices have been made. Even that seems troublesome though.

      I would say that any intelligent player could join the Group if they wanted. And I would allow it. Perhaps they didn't make the choise that effects their game play, but that is what every game is about. The rules are usually not written by the players and you just play by the rules that are given. Or that is how I play. Perhaps others make up rules as they play to fit their play style, but that is certainly not how many board games works. Anyway - I think it looks interesting and I would love to play with withy my brothers, but when played on Christmas Eve it would take 14 years to play through all the scenarios which is why I might not buy it. I would probably want to buy a "complete" game that has already been played. Or if you could play non-story driven scenarios while playing I would play those with my brothers. And then find some other group to play the scenarios with.

    Out of curiosity, does anyone know if there's any significance to the clock on the box going to 15? If there is, please don't spoil it. I'm just asking if a reason exists, not what it is. That design choice seems odd to me considering that 15 isn't a number associated with anything weird or creepy to my knowledge. Also, there's only the prologue and 13 chapters so it's clearly not a reference to that.

    • @trekker02
      @trekker02 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you want to play from scratch, yes you'd need to buy the whole game new. Most legacy games are like this - the only exception I can think of is Charterstone where you can buy a "recharge pack." But as Rob often says, most of the time getting a game to be played 14 times is an achievement in itself. It's definitely not a style of play for everyone, though! :)

      KMichelle Argus OK so with this kind of stuff we should like have a notebook inside the box that will tell us all of the different information for each play through.
      because I know my family would want to play this game but they definitely would not want to play it that many times or be constantly buying the game over and over. But I know my friend interested in doing that campaign kind of things.
      So should I just have a notebook and write down everything that happened in the campaign in that notebook?

    Am I the only person that thought of making dry erase cards and make the stickers removable and replaceable....Ive played games where the stickers can easily be peeled off but otherwise stay in place.... Could save a lot of people quite a bit and "destroy the card" instead you just put it aside

    • @nigelbaboolal5072
      @nigelbaboolal5072 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The whole point of a legacy game is to sort of force people to be more invested in the game by permanently changing the game. You could do what your saying, but it sort of changes the way you make decisions. It's sort of like playing an rpg with multiple saves vs single saves.

    • @neggispringfeild
      @neggispringfeild 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nigelbaboolal5072 well my idea is to follow all the rules but instead of destroying the game so you need to buy a new one you instead put those cards away...they dont come back into play in the same game...you make the same decisions because either way you have the same results

    • @Sam-vk8xd
      @Sam-vk8xd 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      neggispringfeild people have done this with other legacy games, use sticky notes and so on so as to not modify the components. And yeah it works. But it defeats the purpose of a legacy game. A legacy game is meant to be modified. It is meant to be changed and altered. If you don’t want to modify the game in this way, yeah it’s fine you can figure out alternatives though they’d be too much work and I think it would take away the fun. But at the end of the day the spirit and purpose of legacy would be missed.
      Plus, once you’ve played thru the 14 campaign haunts you have access to 36 haunts that are played on your own customized game, slightly different from anyone else’s in the world. There’s tons of replay value. And most people that have played thru a legacy campaign don’t actually replay it again per the stats I’ve seen.

    • @Rapitor
      @Rapitor 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can't play the 'campaign' multiple times, but you can continue to play the game itself after the campaign is done, using the changes you made throughout the campaign to make the game truly your own.

      Not at all, it super simple.
      You can move your speed every turn (4 moves usually unless it changes) and then if you reveal a tile with a symbol you draw a card from the deck with that symbol. For everything else you just read things and so what it tell you “usually to roll a certain amount of dice. If you can read and aren’t dyslexic anyone can play this game.
