My understanding of the remove the top & bottom card mechanism is when distilling, the vapors at the top of the batch can be toxic and the bottom is sort of the bitter dregs of the batch. You'd think they would have to throw that stuff away, but distillers realized they could use those to seed subsequent batches and waste less material. Probably not a well known fact, but it's really flavorful if you do.
I love this game! A very oddly thematic euro, with some fun mechanics. Definitely goes well with a nice glass of whiskey. Last time I played, I made everyone cocktails based on their character’s signature spirit. It was pretty cool!
Agree with all of that. Great game. Also worth mentioning the production value is off the chart. Nobody is ever going to try and sell a Distilled organiser. The one that comes with it is epic.
Flavors do matter even from the base game. The more desirable the flavor, the more coins it gives you. For example, Tobacco gives 1 coin. Cherry or Melon give 2 coins. Whereas Sports Bag and Rubber Tires give no coins.

The one thing I wish about this game is that the flavours would actually mean something. They're fun to reveal, but they don't matter.
