    You can always put the upper bolt in through the frame leaving the nut end easily accessible in the future. That way you can avoid the possibility of dropping the nut and washer into the frame.

    Great Video! Thanks for capturing the process and sharing it with everyone. I have a quick question. With the help from this video, I am almost done with mine and only have the front drivers side Upper and Lower to do. I started with the upper and I'm having an issue lining up the bolts. I had to do the upper frame bolt first - the frame was repaired with frame caps and I don't have access to the bolt through the frame hole (now covered) so it was easier to do the upper/frame mount bolt first. Where did you connect the ratchet straps to move the top mount of the front axle back? I only have about a 1/4" to go to line it up. Thanks again!

    • @RustyAutoholicGuy
      @RustyAutoholicGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly anywhere on the frame you can ratchet to will work, you could probably go to the skid plate for the transmission/transfer case if that would help.

    • @RustyAutoholicGuy

      I think it would be worth it. I have a stock LJ as well and my TJ rides and handles better. Also it would be good future proofing when you are ready to go to a lift, you will be able to adjust ie rotate the rear pinion to point at your transfer case so you won't have to worry unwanted binding and vibration.

      Hey I am going through this with my XJ. Problem with stock replacements, there is only really cheap stuff available. My friend replaced all of his stock Mopar control arms on his 99 TJ with a a shiny new set from crown. Within 2 years they were very rusty and the bushings were cracking. Nowhere near the quality of stock. Most short adjustable like this are basically stock length at shortest adjustment. So that’s fine. Definitely get ones with oem quality Clevite bushings.
      Also when you do this, consider throwing on a set of quality coil spacers (like daystar). You will not need to change anything else. Stock length shocks are fine. Ran my TJ for years with 2” poly spacers and 32x11.5 tires and it looked and worked great.

    • @williamiverson903
      @williamiverson903 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any of the solid bar and bushing arms on the market can damage your brackets when flexing the suspension off road. The stock stamped steel arms are flimsy for a reason. They need to twist like your forearm as your axle articulates. Since I plan on mild off roading I'll be ordering their tier 2 version with Johnny Joints on one end that allow for the necessary twist.
