I have been working with cooling issues on my diesel powered CJ7 and FJ62. They both drive fine under most conditions but when it's really hot out (100+F) and under load, going up long grades etc they both will overheat. I'm working to get more CFM moving through the fan - haven't seen a set up likes yours before, good job!

Thank you Kenneth! I tried to do a swap that wasn't common but also cheap as well. I know what you mean on the long grades for overheating. I've done some limited testing and it appears my coolant and EGTs are good, but I have one hill that I haven't tested on yet that I'm worried I might start hitting some problems with climbing!

I think the 2 speed volvo or ford taurus electric fan is a popular option. They flow a ton of air if you're looking for an option that's easier to source if this one fails or doesn't pull enough cfm

I've been on the look out for one if this one fails, but so far this one has worked perfectly minus so wiring which is my fault, not the fans!

Good Job Grant, possible hook up high speed through relay for a/c down the road.

That's a great thought Ted, I hadn't thought of that yet.

Check out Harris performance controls, I think it may check all the boxes you are looking for in a fan controller. Awesome quality too

Great Video! Maybe you have discussed this before, but why not go with a mechanical fan? They pull more CFM then a electric. Was it due to a space issue?

It was actually because to run a serpentine belt system I had to replace the water pump pulley with one from KubotaSwappers which also meant I had to remove the fan as well. Also I don't think the fan would clear the hood on my setup either!

Hey, i bought the same electric fan, 16217. Look at the instructions, it says: Simply mount the either in front or back of the radiator making sure airflow direction arrow on the fan shroud label is pointed towards the engine. In the video you put it wrong like i did before i noticed the matter....
