- I did not even realize this was the last time I would ever see Joe! The relationship was on it's last legs 'between my mom and Joe. We we're celebrating my nieces' first birthday! Joe did not show til later!

To answer the question as to whether Joe is still alive or not, the answer is likely yes, as I looked him up and he has a PO Box in Fontana, and Gilbert's mom is listed as a relative (the site lists when people passed away). And while I'm here, it's awesome that you upload these videos for the younger generations to see (I was 12 at the time of this video and am a little over a month away from turning 33. Also a fellow SoCal native). The younger generations don't know what life was like before cell phones and social media...
They have no idea about losing Internet signal because someone is using the phone or receiving a call. Good ol Net Zero

Gil, you are a great guy and you have a beautiful family. Reminds me of my family in some ways. Hector really resembles one of my older brothers a lot. Your mother seems like such a good lady. I was wondering what happened to Joe until I came across this video. I could see from your earlier videos that he was a big part of all your lives for awhile. I'm sorry that things didn't work out and he went his seperate way. You are a very strong unit and its wonderful to see all the years you put together on video. I wish you all the best and maybe someday you could see him again if its not too strange of a situation. I can't believe one of your newer videos I saw and one of the little babies has a baby of her own now. Amazing. Best to you and your family. God bless.

I was 19 during this time, taking care of my nephew and working at Best Buy...9/11 hit in September and it didn’t feel real. Every thing stopped and everyone was in disbelief.

I once made the last pictures and videos of my great grandma and of my dog... I didn't even realized it till a few weeks ago, because I forgot (the pictures) and now it's my job to not lose those pics (of my gandma)... Great video!
I've been watching your videos and I am fascinated by Joe. So many questions. I know you don't know, yet I would love to know what happened to him. I guess I can see the journey going from the early years when he came on the scene with lots of laughs and joy to him finally leaving. The downward spiral of alcoholism. I know this as a now sober alcoholic. Poor Joe. I hope he found God and peace. Amen.

Hispanic men get a bad reputation of being abusive to their wives or girlfriends. Usually it’s due to alcoholism or they witnessed this abuse themselves and think it’s normal. It’s good your mother and Joe moved on. I know Gil spoke of some abuse growing up. I’m thankful Gil is not like this. I’m sure Gil is a great husband.
