I can imagine Khorne frothing at the mouth and pumping his fists in the air like a frat boy while he watches an eversor at work.
I forget which book it was from, but a squad of chaos marines witnessed an eversor in action from afar and where struck by admiration so much that they didn't open fire despite being in range.
Khorne hates subterfuge and dishonorable combat! Eversor's do not fight fare or honorable. When Han Solo said "Great I prefer a straight up fight to all this sneaking around!!" Khorne rejoiced and said "MY MAN!!!"
Not so much when an Eversor kills the helpless. Khorne frowns on that.

When you see eversor in a lore title, you get interested. When you see it's vox, you make time.
I love how the first combat just abruptly finishes as the Eversor gets back in the pod and then immediately wakes into another battle Like a dreadnought almost.
His brain probably isn't even capable of consciousness without the drugs at that point
Eversors are so dangerous they have to be placed in stasis at all times when not active and are programmed to go passive or just hope back in their pod after missions like this one did.
Pod gets picked up and they get treated for any injuries and prepared for the next drop.
They get "rewarded' with endorphins for every kill they make and will turn into bullseye when out of ammo or without their usual arsenal.
Turning anything they can get their hands on into deadly makeshift weapons.
No more space marine FPS games.
Give us Eversor games in the style of doom.
Dishonored X Warhammer like combat first person combat.

eversors are single use, they dont survive the drugs they inject while in combat
There was a story about an eversor going against the tau. He attacked a bunker and was slaughtering his way towards an Etherial. The tau commander sacrified himself when the eversor breached the last bunker door, when the eversor died he laughed and exploded causing further tau casualties. The tau were so shaken that they couldnt believe the thing that was slaughtering them was even human
What waa the name of The story
Can't really blame them. An eversor is.one of those nightmare creations come to life in horrific fashion. A mentally damaged child shaped into a serial killer for the military is a scary ass though. Especially all it knows is how.to make war and corpses. Kept in stasis when not used on a mission. Like a black finger of the devils own hand
Tau continually being horrified at the lengths the imperium will go to, will never not be funny
If I remember, after the Ethereal died, the Tau gone Khornate after that. No longer taking prisoners. No longer shouting "For the Greater Good," but the name of the Ethereal
The tau were even more horrified when they capture a dreadnaught who was 10,000 years young and the alien realizes he's older then the entire tau race.
That first minute sets the tone of the story so perfectly. Horribly so.
Traditionally speaking, the storyteller was honored and respected as a keeper of history and wisdom. With that in mind, im psyched for this new installment!

The idea of these characters is truly frightening. A perfect 40k character.
A WH40K med student somewhere is absolutely drooling over the detail of this story
Unfortunately more like laughing their asses off, as the story clearly tries way too hard, with some bonus errors (automatic nervous system, probably a misreading of the correct autonomic). Still awesome story tho

Why do we not have a movement shooter where you play as an Eversor assassin? It's perfect. Get drop podded in, kill EVERYONE, kill priority target, move to extraction. Slow-motion ability that ticks down your HP as you use it. Your score at the end is calculated by a kills to seconds ratio.

Also if you die and explode, that's not an instant fail, if it takes out your target that's still a Win

The Eversor Temple takes a delightfully simple approach to problem solving, applying Occam's Razor directly to the throat. Fantastic work as always Vox, and fantastic writing Mr. Duxbury!

It sounds like dude's basically an arco-flagellant that still has his hands and can think and use weapons and whatnot. And likes being warm.
Not even close. An Eversor makes an arco-flagellant look like a child have a temper tantrum. They are even a threat to space marines.

Eversores out here making arco-flagellants , sisters repentia, and penitent engines look like cuddly kittens.
It’s more like if Rambo had a plan b of being a suicide bomber and also had a constant supply of speed and morphine in his system, while also having all the tactical intelligence available somehow absorbed into his head while he was sleeping the night before… also assuming Rambo was a psycho child murder who’s idea of a good time is kicking puppies and skinning cats
I would love to hear stories about the other three assassin types. Each would be very different, but super interesting

Would also love stories of lesser known temples, the Adamas temple (blade masters) and Venenum temple (venom users). A Venenum assassin vs drukhari would be a sick story.

The Horus Heresy book called Nemesis involves all of the temples working together to (attempt to) assassinate Horus. It’s actually one of the funniest Heresy books as all the assassins are mean spirited asshats to each other while being a surprisingly effective team. Some supernatural shenanigans also happen but I won’t spoil anything

Here before the story starts! Seeing as it's about an Eversor assassin AND written by the amazing Stephen Duxbury, there's only one question I have... how much emotional and/or collateral damage are we in for?
Yes.
Collateral implies that the Eversor is deploy as a weapon which causes collateral, when in fact everything in the vicinity is it's intended target.

I am absolutely in love with the description of the eversors psychotic glee when taking part in his craft.
This was really good! I love the transitions from battle to battle from the point of the MC. It's just like a blink and he's been dropped into a new combat zone. Written really well reminds me of the angron primarch book when Kharn gets the nails for the first time
Wow. Through the Emperor's will and a little help from his servants at the Officio Assasinorum, even a poor orphan boy can gain the strength to defeat a heretic Astartes! So inspiring!

Great job as always. I had an Eversor show up in a game of Dark Heresy I ran and we had the same idea describing the impacience of him waiting on a breaching charge.

Brutal. Absolutely brutal. Death incarnate is the only correct description for an Eversor Assassin.
Awesome. Simply awesome. I especially liked how the trainers know fully well the psychotic bundle of bloodlust they are creating. The budding assassin doesn't have to have self-control, that's what his indoctrination/programming and handlers are for.
Damn do you write these. They are so good. Descriptive but to the pointl. Perfect to paint a picture, but enough to let my mind do the rest. A masterclass in short story writing.
I've written a few stories for the channel ( all the gods are dead/skull takers and savant) but this piece was written by Stephen duxbury. He is one of the most gifted writers I've had the pleasure of working with

That was one of the best written and most detailed fight-scenes I heard in a long Time. And very dark and fitting to the Setting. I think the best aspect was the very easy to follow path of the Action. Stellar Job, Lads!

Your description are, as always, so on point that it's really easy to visualize the action.
For me, there's no better storyteller on this platform.
Considering my feelings with current GW and lore, I've pretty much cut myself off from all WH40K and WHFRP in general. Vox and a select few are the only Lore Masters that I break that rule for.

By the god emperor this was amazing! The pacing and storytelling got me at the edge of my seat. I listened this one three to four times, in each time i could see this playing perfectly on my mind. It was almost like i was seeing a POV camera shot of him.

Well, the candidates are often picked from the worst mass murderers, hitman and psychopaths throughout the Imperium; some committed serial killings even as a child. Such is their born nature that they can't even being turned into Astartes. Khorne wished he could bless these folks but they're pretty much not worshipping anything
