  • Just for the record i am not a builder I am just sharing my experiences on home DIY.
    This is my honest review of this mortar gun as the reviews i saw are very unclear and in most cases give you the wrong impression of the tool.

      hi Falco666, I get my gun squeezing all the water out so I end up with a had slug in the tube. did u get this and did the plasticiser make a big difference?

      @@thequietroom3991 Hi, yeah when I first tried it I just used sloppy sand trying to work out the best consistency but it just blocked, so did a mixed with cement worked but still not right blocked , so had some plasticiser handy so used it in the mix , and it worked fine , you need the mix the consistency of cream to work , I used a cheap plaster rotary mixer on my drill mixed it in a builders bucket, make sure your sand is not grit sand or similar, I used it on the chimney up on the roof brilliant , good luck😉

    Thank you I’m going to buy one, I’ll keep the mix fairly wet so shouldn’t be a problem , plus it will be ok for other stuff like ready mix plaster to get into gaps around my new window frames as spray foam just isn’t cutting it , 💯👍👍

    I used one for pointing brickwork and paving slabs. I've also used it for grouting between ceramic tiles. I put the tile grout in a sandwich bag inside the tube. To aid in cleaning, Just pull out the empty bag and put in a new one. Saves hours of time cleaning off the tiles.

    It's really bad for big jobs because the 'plastic' thread on the top of the tube wears down on the tube due to the sand, in which makes it only good for the bin!

    Wonder how it would work if filled with a sloppy enough mixture of Bostik instant cement?

  • @jonathanh647
    @jonathanh647 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    In my opinion, after I tried to use one of the roof using the same mixture I would use on engineering bricks, it blocks up and all the water seeps out quickly and the rest of the mix gets dry far too quick

    maybe this gun works for patios cos you've got gravity on your side but with a wall nothing was coming out at all. The seal is so tight that it forms a vacuum which stops the mixture from moving and all the water is forced out of the mix also making it immoveable.

    Dude you should be speaking about problem solving why it gets blocked and how to fix it, you can’t use it horizontally, you can’t mix a “sloppy mixture as it affects effective applications of decent grout.
    It’s a heap of shit, if your a Hugh quality tradesmen who want high quality results, don’t but this.
    If your working on a rock wall at heights and looking to use this grout application, it can’t be used as like I said it can’t be used horizontally. Don’t waste your money
