    am from the UK
    bud
a tip get a good black back
then put all mixed mortar in it like a cake piping gun
    cut corner off
or when you have 5 mins use plastic bottle
cut to shape and super glue it
then wrap elec tape around it that's what I used for some time
gets filled quickly when working out side full brick job
I put 3 to 4 drops of fairy in a cup of water and add it to the mix at beginning comes out so nice

They work good as long as you get that mixture right and clean them out when using now and again good luck

I have the quick point mortar gun that runs with a drill and it works really good especially for stick on stone it comes with an additive for the mortar that keeps it creamy it has a small hopper on the top so it's alot easier to keep filling it without really having to stop I'm sure if you used the additive with this gun it wouldn't get clogged

Sounds interesting what is the additive?

@@ipfishing1466 it's called gibpro mrf it's like a plasticiser without it all the vibration from the drill causes the water to separate from the mortar and it can clog up pretty fast also stone veneer mortar works without the additive I would imagine because it already has plasticicer in it

I use paddle mixer and when the water is not coming back to the surface good mix I like a weak mix of SBR to make it creamy. Not fed bond. Looking good 👍

    Hi mate great video.
Looking at doing this as a total newbee .
Once you have pointed how long do you wait before you sponge the residue off and so you use a wet sponge or dry ?
Also any basic info would be great thankyou

With these bricks the mortar went of pretty quick it was around 10 minutes before I was sponging off but every brick is different, you can also brush the mortar with a soft brush and if it leaves brush marks in the joint then its to wet thats why I prefer a sponge because it don't leave marks in the joint.

Don't sponge any masonry, it will leave mortar residue, especially on porous bricks

what mix ratio did you use ?

    • @worklife4221
      @worklife4221  ปีที่แล้ว +4

No mix ratios needed as the brick slips come with its own bags of adhesive and bags of lime mortar for pointing so just mix the lime to a creamy mixture and not to wet that it falls out of the mortar gun
