  • A demonstration of how to use a pointing gun when re-pointing Indian stone paving. Much quicker and easier than using a pointing trowel or jointer. Is the time spent getting to learn the basics of how to use the mortar gun worth it? Definitely, it is quicker and a cleaner way to re-point but it does require a bit of patience initially but it is well worth persevering and you will soon get the hang of it. Once you have re-pointed take a break and have a coffee while the mortar sets before cleaning up the mortar and brushing down with a soft brush to give the final finish.

Beautiful stone. I can't believe that nobody was annoyed about you using a rolling pin from the kitchen. Hahaha

Cut down a plastic bottle and make a perfect scoop. Work clean and tidy and rinse the gun every 20 reloads or when required. Plenty of plastiser in the mix. Easy with practice.

Great video. Are you using sharp or builders sand?

Hi Alex, I used builders sand, I think you might struggle with sharp sand. Once you get the hang of it it is a reasonably quick process.

Always soft / builders sand. Sharp sand will jam the gun.
