Eliane Elias (born 19 March 1960 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian jazz pianist and singer. Her performing career began in Brazil at age seventeen, with Brazilian singer-songwriter Toquinho and touring with the poet Vinicius de Moraes. In 1981, she moved to New York City where she attended The Juilliard School of Music. A year later she became part of the group Steps Ahead.
Her first album was a collaboration with Randy Brecker entitled Amanda in 1984. Shortly after, her solo career began when she signed to Blue Note Records and released the album Illusions in 1987, featuring Steve Gadd and Stanley Clarke.

Terrific performance ... Elaine is marvelous ... wonderful bass solo. Adam is one of the finest drummers around ... he communicates with pianists perfectly .... he is the best in a trio setting.

Sbaglio o Eliane sul finire ha interrotto l'assolo di batteria ed è entrata in anticipo col piano....però il batterista ha successivamente ripreso k'assoko e poi lo ha portato felicemente a termine?

Tiene que cantarse. No solo tocarse. Si es tocada como jazz, debe ser más suave y tenue. Es una canción delicada. No es sólo largarse a improvisar sobre sus notas. Eso es un desperdicio.
